Good video from the perspective of an engineer and owner of the last batch C350e. My car usually showed 21km electric range when fully charged and I admit it’s mainly due to my heavy foot and short travel distance between KL and Subang. Most of the case the actual consumption is around 10 litres for 100km, which I seldom charge it. But somehow the electric vs fuel ratio shown is around 20 : 80. For me the joys is more of the burst of the torque than actual fuel saving ... certainly the saving of car price under EEV and pre-owned is fantastic

i have the same curiosity, i've got a little panic at the time but i positively think n my logic says about the same as what you said here. the moment i watch this i felt more relief thanks to you. ppl asked me about driving this kinda cars "makan minyak" lah "makan battery" lah. all i can say is at the end of the day, its all depends on how you drive.

Great video Bobby. Just like claimed Fuel consumption from manufacturer. It’s probably tested in Europe or Japan over average of a thousand kilometres.

Feels almost the same for those who complain about their dual clutch problems. So many drive it like the conventional torque converter when they should be driving it nearer to the understanding of manual. Not using the brakes on uphill, not coming to a full stop before engaging reverse and step on it, letting it creep with partial brake forever, all these are the killers for any manual car. Imagine you drive a manual like that! Poor thing. Consumer problem.

Good point but non enthusiast like uncle and aunty driving golf tsi, passat, Jetta are not going to care abt driving it like manual. They bought vw dsg cause sales man told them it like auto. Far from the truth. Cant blame the owner cause they are buying family car expecting minimal issues especially gearbox. They dont care about 0.005 sec gearshift etc. They do care about the judder during stop go traffic. DSG should be for GTI and sport model only if you dont want complaints....

@@altezzar909 so it's also a partial fault of salesman it seems. Can't blame the judder. The tech hasn't reached the muscle accuracy of our left foot yet. But I'm hopeful. One day. I think we're very close!

Every time we full up the tank, it will automatically set the range to 700km (for example). Then the range will decrease according to our driving.. For battery, I believe it will be the same? Why in showroom show 40km but after we fully charge show less by default? Unless we already drove it.. Thanks...

Not really though. Just collected a new car couple months ago. First day driven out from showroom with a full tank and shown 800km estimated range. When I refilled again it was only shown about 550km. Meaning to say that the car doesn’t erase its memory, the last fuel consumption estimation is being carried over.

Totally agreed with your comments, fuel consumption is depand to the driver, road condition, traffic flow, etc., my City Hybrid can go more or less 900 km in full tank when gently driving..... 😂

I having 330e... I no problem with it .. instead ... I enjoy having hybrid car as I have another Honda Insight ..... I charge everyday on Bmw ... I fill up once few Mth... my 330e still have half tank with my car show I had been driving for range of 918km for this tank

Well part of the problem now people only care sales figures . It a number game for the company and salesman which lack of customer communication and education on a product.which happened often happened most sales job , all manager want figure which force the salesman basically con or hide the truth from the customer like proper maintain and usage. another problem is Malaysian consumer mostly lack of education the feature of a product and way of using a product properly even you try to inform they using it wrongly . They buy a product especially car mostly just to show off and never bother understand the product at all. when got problem complaint and complaint. every product got it weakness and nothing is perfect.

My uncle is looking for a sports car to drive as his 'reward' because he has finally accomplish sending his kids for higher education and entering semi retirement age. I've bad experienced with Volvo XC90 T8, bought it as company car last 2 year, less than 2 year the car returned to service centre 6 times, unable claim warranty mostly need to pay but still the problem unfixed, early this year sell off, need to think carefully before purchasing Volvo PHEV that cost RM400K..

Petrol prices are relatively low here in Malaysia. Don't see why we need a plug-in hybrid, but if it's a pure full EV vehicle (I can understand the so-called green earth friendly motive for full EV). I can live without these small little incentives such as improved fuel economy, designated hybrid parking slots, higher end model variant at cheaper pricing, the slightly better acceleration, cheaper road tax, and so on. I prefer the peace of mind driving and commuting around, the reduced anxieties and stress of battery and electrical problems and RV.
