I owned a 2017 Jeep SRT before and this guy nailed this review. You are totally going to spend $ on this car no matter what. After a year, I had to spend 2k to replace all 4 tires since they were high performance. To replace the pads, breaks, calipers etc will cost you 4k. As for gas, it wasn't that bad, It cost me around $50 to fill it up, and I was only driving around 12 miles a day. Guys don't get me wrong you will have a blast with the SRT. There is nothing like this on the market. No need to even get a trackhawk. 475 hp is already a lot and you will smoke everybody with just your big toe on the pedal LOL....but this car is high maintenance so be prepared. I will strongly recommend people to buy it used because unfortunately, this car is overpriced. I was lucky to get mine for 63k brand new. Now, its at least 75k. So, get a used one with less than 10k miles and make the dealership replace the tires and the breaks etc before you finance it.
The Durango can take up to 6 passengers total. The Jeep can only take 4 passengers. So, it depends on how big your family is or will be. But, it is the same engine. They are also badass looking but, one issue I have with the Durango SRT is that there is not that much difference between that and the Durango R/T. So, it doesn't really stand out. But, the Jeep SRT and Trackhawk are litteraly on Steroid. They are bigger and larger than the all the Grand Cherokees and they definitely stand out!
Even if I had the money for a Trackhawk, I can't see driving an SRT and thinking I needed another couple of hundred extra horsepower. My current car is 280hp and I get in trouble with that. 475hp sounds like an insane amount of power to me.
No 475 hp is plenty trust me! The entire neighborhood will know it's you when you pull up! You can even do some little things to get it up to 520hp like I did. But, there is no need to to buy a Trackhawk and I am not saying that because I'm a hater or because I can't afford it whatever.... No, I test drove one of them and I was honestly disappointed! They look the exact same as the SRT for once and the only difference it's the badging and the yellow calipers. As for the engine tho... I am not going to lie...It is extremely brutal and a little louder than the SRT. The whining sound is really what makes the difference since it is an hellcat engine. So, overall nothing stood out. so if you have 100K to spend just get a Range Rover period!
Cd Ad Range Rover ?? Ugh nice car don’t get me wrong but it’s just too damn heavy. I have seen a svr doing a 0-60 pull live and it sounds amazing but looks very very heavy
I took home a 2015 Red Vapor edition. Straight pipe Borla, in great condition. Had 56,000+ on the odometer, and got it for $48,000+. Though I wanted a 2018 and up, this 2015 has all the bells and whistles I wanted. Scooped it up in time before someone else could’ve had all the fun I’m having now LOL!
Thank you for the very helpful tips to look out for. I will keep those tips in mind when I search for a Jeep SRT. Do you have any tips if it is worth leasing one of these.
For reals we have an 07 escalade to haul our daughter around in and the trucks a heavy girl. We would like more power and obviously more modern. I'm debating between the 15 escalade and a 14 srt. Looks like these srts don't depreciate that much. Cars getting 10 mpg and less should depreciate like crazy lol
I’ve had an SRT grand Cherokee since 2015. I’ve got a 2017 right now with 33,000 miles and the thing is a beast. It’s in perfect condition, these things are engineer to drive in hard
It seems like the cars fall apart easy if you are afraid to buy one that’s test driven. They are made to rock! They are suppose to be tested. I would be more worried buying one that hasn’t taken off its training wheels yet. If it’s that concerning buy a Honda Civic. I appreciate the advice you are given people but the cars built for roaring let it roar.
You absolutely correct I brought a certified used 2014 Jeep srt and a month later the engine went in it. The dealer covered it under the drive train warranty. And after I got it back 2 1/2 months later the water pump went in it. 60,000 miles when the engine went. I brought the extended warranties 100 deductible. As well so guys and girls do that inspection.
Im true America car guy but I went with a amg gle 43 a lil bit reliable i was going to get a srt but after a few hundred and a ecu up grade and some small things almost same hp
Well there's always maintenance 🙄. You're getting a great deal because you might have to do maintenance in the near future. Do you want to finance that where it costs you a couple thousand more in the long run?
WTF is up with the KILOMETERS? If you're replacing the rotors that means the entire brake pads were shot in the first place. I've never heard of rocks or pebbles that fowl up the Heat treated Rotors and then have to be replaced. Last but nice least, all dealerships will allow you to test drive this vehicle. The TRACKHAWK, maybe not because of it's high dollar value. This guy is a MOOK. Sorry, IJS
@@latinace1981 you again? Dude, you're clearly biased against Chrysler. Nobody cares whether you like them or not. Your disliking is not gonna put them out of business or dissuade someone from getting one. Grow up
@MrFyb ohyeahyeah That and the weight are not a good combination. I beat on my car and there is still lots of life in the brakes, although I should probably change the fluid.
Dont lease you can get a use one for 25k to 30k low miles and about 5 to 600 a moth and youll end up owning it i a couple yrs if you lease your just throwing your money away
a lot of "probablys" and "maybys" of course if your not buying brand new or if its got some miles maintenance is typical. I feel this guy isn't much of a jeep expert. just my 2 cents
That's why there are many car brands out there ,so you can buy what you like. I respect your point of view. I bet there are many people that dont like what you drive though.
Heres the thing, all those jeep srts have been beaten to shit whether they have an exhaust or not or any sort of mods, even if they where new, all the techs that pdi them beat the fuck outta them already
You know what, I’m not gonna even rush to get this vehicle. Reasons why: I don’t have a great paying job, and with that being said I won’t be able to afford these high maintenance parts. My goal is to get a 18 or 19 year model; unless FCA comes out with a banging new concept for 2020. But for now I’m pumping the brakes, and sticking with the 11 Laredo.
If you want performance and better style go with a JEEP SRT or Trackhawk..If you want the most aggressive looking & has that RAW power go with an 06' - '10 JEEP SRT8 The Porsche Cayenne is just, well.....its just a Porsche Cayenne
I have driven both & for refinement the Cayenne shits all over the SRT. The build quality, the handling & reliability is all Cayenne. If you just want straight line grunt in a over weight truck on steroids then the SRT is fine.
I want to punch myself in the face watching this.. I’m going to run the shit out of anything i own and know that it’s going to cost me money in the long run.. pay to play
Lindon Dumais I think tintman831 is saying the truth. Jeep is very cheaply built these days and it’s the same as dodge they both have really crappy cheap plastics inside that if you accidentally hit with your elbow or arm they break! I have a 2007 Mercedes AMG weeks ago I was in a 2018 Jeep loaner, and I couldn’t believe how horrible it was. My 2007 Mercedes was miles ahead in quality and everything else
Mario Santana compared to a hellcat or gtr or super lightweight McLaren yeah it’s slow as fuck. But compared to most cars on the road I usually pull away very fast from anything I want. Right now at 100000 miles my 0-60 is around 4.7 seconds with ESP on. It’s a 6seater vehicle too. Not corvette fast but it’s faster than everything else below that
