I would say if you already have one that needs some maintenance, hopefully you can save a few bucks. If you do not already have one and are looking to purchase one hopefully I gave you an option to look at.
This video is excellent. That note about the rebuilds running louder and possibly less efficient is interesting. Do you expect there is a break in period for the new piston to run its most efficient and quiet down a bit?
This pump is going to Trevor to help get his fish room started which will allow me to report back if there is a break in period. The research I have done on others experience is that there can actually be wear from the original piston and the new piston will not line up exactly causing it to be less efficient
