@@gobogamathoda dimaag bhi laga liya karo...yaha two wheeler isliye zyada hai kyuki climate allows...ab Canada or England me barf ya barish me bike chalaoge kya??
I have had the privilege of sharing classroom with Mr Tarun from grade 1 to grade 10. He was always gifted & I see no surprise today where he has reached.
well, this interview shows his arrogance and self praise. Looks more self centered , arrogant and neither clear in his talks nor humble. whole interview was more like a advertising
Top chinese electric auto makers are competing with tesla..BYD has the finest battery in the world ..and he is saying ...china is no where in the world... ho gaya bhai... isi liye ethar ke numbers itne aache nhi hai...
I have heard Tarun earlier and following Ather since last 5-6 Years. This was the best interview till date of Ather CEO..n I sincerely believe in his vision n know that in coming years Ather will beat Activa and other legacy players..They just need more relevant marketing and a 1-2 products below 1 lakh..Rest people of Bharat will take care..
@@rickflyer8369he is capturing the market of Two Wheeler EV at present He's concerned for the future because his company totally relies on the future (EV Vehicles ofc). It's hard to break the Activa legacy but surely Ather will grow at a good pace as he's totally ready with the future problems (His present is going well with no quality issues as such and good funding from investors)
The interviewer doesn't know anything about indian automobile industry. What do you mean by global brand? Do you have any idea about hero, bajaj selling their products outside india. Study atleast for a week before podcast
Hi Tarun, if you or your team is reading this, please look into enclosed reverse leaning trikes. Like the AKO Trike. A product like that is very much needed in the Indian market. It has environmental protection, improved safety over bikes, and more stable than bikes. More importantly, cars are getting expensive, and after COVID, not everyone is comfortable with public transport or riding a two wheeler. Thus, there is a need for a weather protected 2 seater vehicle within 3-5 lakh range for middle and upper middle class office goers. This is a much needed vehicle category, which no one significant is making in the Indian market.
@@ingoelectric Thanks for informing me: Can you elaborate a bit more. Which specific rules do not allow such vehicles? Which rule numbers are there? Maybe we can get the rules changed.
Hey Raj, A huge shoutout for your awesome podcast! It’s been a game-changer for me and many others on this entrepreneurial path. For us, your channel is like the Bible of current generation businesses You’re absolutely killing it, man. No influencer out there is doing what you are-real, impactful stuff. The entrepreneurship community is definitely better off because of you. Keep it up!
6-7 saal baad agar company hi nahi raha to battery kahan se kharidenge? khud banane baithenge kya? sorry i am not buying into it...standardized replaceable battery jab tak nahi hota tab tak
This was I think one of the first kind of podcasts where an Indian automotive startup founder is called upon to share very insights on present ongoing EV revolution in India. I would like you to call upon the makers of Ultraviolette electric vehicle startup if possible and then many more founders who are working on one of many ways to tackle the ongoing and upcoming energy crises in our country and globally by progressing towards electric and future mobility. And huge respect to Tarun for sharing these insights and Raj for bringing these of people ❤😀
Bro is using cheap chinese made parts, battery components & US made android and google maps software then has the delusion to boast that he has the most “advanced” EV 2-wheeler tech of the world 😂. All the while his company is running at a net loss of about 865 CR in FY2023. Sala thodi si nhi sharam nahi aati kya inhe jhut bolne mei. Podcasts have really become the laughing stock cuz of such liars while kids are getting motivated and brainwashed into thinking they can create their own startup just like that.
After sab mujhe lagta hai kyunki aapke customers ko kuch features nahin pata matlab kya aap ye kehrahe ki aapki customers buddhu hai. Shayad ho sakte hai jo itna Paisa dekar kharid rahe hai 😝. Dusra ye ki aap ka top feature Google maps, Bhai ye features dusre bike nahi de rahe matlab ye nahi ki unko pata nahin. Vo Indian market mein tikne keliya budget scooter bana ne mein Lage hai 😁 aur us budget mein free Google maps tho kuch zyada hi hojayega. Theesri baat, balki aap ne Maan liya ki har electric scooter petrol scooter se tez bhaag thi hai , obviously ye tho common sense hi hai usme kya bada aapne banaliya 😂 Jo bhi ho agar yehi features Kam paise mein production kar ke dikhao tab maanenge abhi tak tho aapka business concept theek thaak chalraha hai. Mujhe tho isa laga jaise ki nasa ne lander bhejne ke liye kitna Paisa liya aur ISRO ne landing ke liye kitna Paisa liya, farak tho padtha hi hai. Humare Desh mein ISRO hi chal sakta hai nasa nahin. Abhi tak aisa revolutionary wala kuch nahi hai ☹️ all the best future ke liye . Kyun ki aap ke rivals bahut tagde Wale aane Wale Hain kuch saalon mein, electric ka dhanda tho abhi start hua hai 😄👍🏼
As a consumer, my problem is not with ev technology, rather confidence in it- in 2 years, new ev tech might outdate the current one. What happens to my vehicle then..
This podcast is so one sided, this Shamani fool did not even discuss one critical feature of this market or this scooter. He did not question a single claim by the Ather guy. Ekdum chamcha bann ke baat kar raha hai mano jija ji ka interview ho.
@@Dhruv_Dogra Haa to sab discuss hua hota hee hai.. pyar se bula ke Gand Marne ka scene hoga to koi zaat nhi ayega.. Laal maarke marketing hoti hai iss liye to yaha aate hai sab.. Aur waise bhi.. market mein Jo cheez chal Rahi hai usme 20 takka to achaai hogi?? For example kee Mein podcast nikalta hoo jiska naam hee hoga "Zuko Mein Daalne Aya Hoo.." To bakwas randi ke alawa koi aur nahi ayega kabhi koi galti se aya toh aya
OTA updates, ev tech is Much more software base like when I bought Ather 450x gen 3 at that time I did not have Autohold, Fallsafe,Tow alert .. but after it was launches with a newer version then mine one Also got it with an OTA update , Its been two years ive been driving it daily , 22K+ kms done
Commenting as Ather user; 1. I do not agree him saying customers need not pay to use navigation, it's a paid subscription service. Inspite of paying premium amount, customers have to pay in addition for the service. 2. Sending navigation from WhatsApp received link is a new feature, I do not agree him saying this exist from 2 years. This also gets disabled once the subscription gets expired 3. Without subscription the display on the dashboard is obsolete, except for which it shows the speed and acceleration
If don't know about hindu civilization or thier ecosystem then he has shut his mouth. Our culture and civilization is far batter then today Era. I am not agree with him on that.
Still I would not buy Ather because 1. the extra amount you are charging , I can fill my Activa tank for like 7 years with that same money . 2. Long time to charge the vehicle , I am too lazy to charge my watch and to charge an electric vehicle is a hassle 3. If you are charging so much , why would I have mental pressure of finding charging station ( in case i travel long distance) 4. What if after 5 years my battery dies or goes to 50% (i dont trust your statement that it would fall to ~75%) , then i would still have to spend large amount . 5.If I sell my 2 wheeler or Activa , I get good resale , will any1 buy old Atger after 5-6 years from me All points can be debatable like reducing battery costs etc , but 1 st point holds a lot of importance .
Hawai baatien jyda kari hai isne.. 1. Product manager har automobile main hain.. yahan tak ki tractors companies main proper dept hai product management ka . 2. Ather is very poor in marketing. They are self obsessed with good product, dont market dont even sell. They dont have good sales team.. one of my close friend wirk with them in Bangalore.. i was meeting him in sep 23. He was saying what are the difficulty they are facing because of low sales.. paise kahatm ho gaye .. hain.. increment diya nhi hai
Good effort by Ather team but there is nothing to over exaggerate about electric vehicles inventions in india it is just an another wheel invented, electric vehicles were invented in 1830's itself. All this is a just a replica of the past innovations. The reason why electric vehicles are in limelight is due to fuel price rise. I don't think electric vehicles will have the durability as the petrol and diesel vehicles.
Ye pride ke chakkar mein hi doobte hain hum , kabhi dekha hai toyota, yamaha, Suzuki ko proud feel kartey hue ? Nahi , because their product speaks for themselves moreover their customers speak for them . When this happens one automatically feels proud.
Without Engine or Moving Parts How come the price is humongous 165000 !! again making room for China.🤦 Moreover the Vehicles are so light and delicate. People should buy an electric cycle or peddle around for best. Somebody is investing his hard earned money to stop pollution and instead of getting a subsidy he is being looted by the whole system.
Cost of replacement battery is more than buying new Activa 😂😂 One of disadvantage of e vehicle After 5 yr cost of battery 50k bataa rahaa thaa aur bol raha thaa every year price Kam hogi battery ki Toh abhi kitna hogaa Jis din petrol 20 rs litre hogaa naa e vehicle ghar pe jaa e gaa 😂😂
Bro whenever i see your podcast …i feel, I m getting more close to my goal of making a big organisation !..it is a tedious process ! and your podcasts make me feel to work much more harder…thanks!
Lol......Ather are not aware much about IC engines i believe .The information in here about the comparison between petrol vehicle and electric vehicle was destructive. The petrol vehicles running on "bhagwan bharosa" 🤣. Dint expect such statement from a CEO. To correct the power is more than a Activa. Why don't you compare the price point. To be precise I would sit on a petrol tank than not reliable EV bike. Moreover EV are limited to the extension of features as everything needs the battery. Petrol heads can load anything. In a Activa I can run for 250kms range....EV Ather......125/140. Charging 4.5 hrs 😱. Petrol fuelin 38 seconds. If asked I can go on with comparisons.
China is leader in battery technology and lithium exploration! Kya baat Kar rahe ho ! Bhai google Kar ke dekh lo ! CATL IS BIGGEST BATTER SUPPLIER FROM CHINA !
Great conversation about building organization with vision of larger span. Tarun was talking about VSM i.e. value stream mapping which a part of Toyota Production system really helps in identifying & removing non value adding activities from system

I didn't understand how they are calculating that Battery prices would reduce by 8% YoY. This is pure assumptions and nobody is providing any concrete data backed by their claim.Let's say if a scooter battery price is 8000 in 2023 and if we add CPI data YoY the battery price will eventually doubled by 2028. This is misleading the entire population.. My assumption is battery price will not come down but based on the sales volume the manufacturing cost will go down significantly.
"Steve jobs admire करता था .." . Raj you are doing a great job already , inspiring millions of Indian youth . "Steve jobs admire करते थे " would have been better .
Worst product of my life has been Ather 450 plus. Its been less than 7k km . My charger stopped working at 3k km. Then at 6k km belt of the scooter broke. Also they reduced their belt warranty from 30k km to 10k km. That means they know they have not delivered on quality and basic component like belt has just 10k km. Also they’ve increased the price 3 times of the belt. And cherry on top 2 days back display went off on my scooter. Each time it takes them atleast 15 days to source components from bangalore. Even basic components like belts, chargers etc. btw I live in delhi not some remote part of the country
Excellent podcast. First podcast where I didn't check the time. And at last i realised its over. Conversation could go on forever.. Building institution 👍😊
We also need to know that, When there is a largest group of researchers in an RND Department, it takes the company like Ather to the next level when all the members totally realise that they are working to build the company. We have to totally realise that, 'no matter how much more work I myself seem to do here than other members in this room, I should always maintain a teamwork mindset, rather than ranting for selfish acclamation'.
Yes he said right. Ather is building trust right now and they are much ahead of any other electric brand. The other brands like ola, simple one are playing glamour game.
Very inspiring podcast of Tarun! I have watched and listen Bhavish Agarwal many times but first time listened Tarun Mehta. Looks like Ola will be building mass product and Ather premium product for India. This is a must watch podcast for wannable entrepreneurs!❤❤❤👍👍👍
Two things ather should focus on is that 1) like activa has huge carrying capacity gas kaa cylinder activa pe leke jaate thei toh utni capacity honi chai e 2) battery cost kam ho utnaa achaa cost of battery= cost of new Activa toh sab log activa lege toh battery kaa price kam kiji e
Raj Shamani! I truly appreciate your podcast. I find so much value in the way you approach topics and break down complexities through thoughtful questioning. I have an interesting idea to explore. With your influential position, have you ever considered opening an online education platform? This platform could serve as a space where people, especially new founders, can post questions and receive answers from experts. It could be a fantastic resource to help aspiring entrepreneurs navigate the challenges they face. What do you think of this idea?
He cannot say the truth 😂 bullsh8t ti the core hum log alibaug se baui aye bhai..electric is big flop in india period..pl join CA classes for calculations😂
This podcast is more about company, marketing, management. I'm disappointed that there were little to no about the product. There could've been around 15-20 minutes talk on battery atleast which is the core of the product. And what we got? "are china bahut peechhe hai hamari battery technology aage hai" Seriously?
165000 for ather? Lol... Activa ajati hai 90k mai badhiyaa chalti hai... Lol jo pese bache uska petrol dalunga 0r service kraunga fir bhi 15_20 hajaar bach jayengey 5-6 saal mai😂😂😂 or second hand mai electric vehicle ki koi value nahi hai 5 saal purani ki😂 activa bechne jauge adhi raatko 60 percent mil jayega aram se😂😂😂... Mene activa lee thi 2014 mai 60k ki ajj 2023 august mai bechi 35k mila puraa 8 saal baad bhi 60 percent value mili❤️🫡❤️
He is talking big and I am sure he means well but the way losses are increasing, 2.5 times last fiscal to 865 crores, he is talking about 100 years but he will be lucky to survive next fiscal.. I may be wrong but this is certainly what I feel after being in finance last 18 years.. money wasn't treated well in India, especially startups, going forward scared that money will not treat these startups, or god forbid India well 😮

Arsh Narula.. all very valid points but try explaining all this to the neo Cool dudes and Cool dudenis of the Indian subcontinent and you will be lynched online 🥵
Ather needs to do better. It's been so many years and they are relying on more or less a single scooter (I know it has variants). They could have reached the whole of Asia till now but they haven't even reached North India properly. Not to mention replacement part costs for it's belts etc. It looks like they aren't even trying to cater to the non metro city elites.

I really don't think this podcast is being watched by founders but people like me who want to understand the technology of electrical vehicles vs hydrogen vs nacl batteries etc. You should focus the podcast on the audience.
Please consider manufacturing 3 wheeled EV scooters which would be a boon especially for the physically challenged & senior citizens. Such scooters are available in the U.K. & China.
This guy is a complete genius! I'm a car guy I've done quite research on his two wheeler EV work too This guy literally spent his so much time in the R&D of the scooter that it will actually sustain very well unlike Ola which is struggling for its quality issues, battery, braking and so on
@@RP-kr2mgTVS will most probably acquire some other Electric Brands and make them work for TVS. They are not being good in looks and pricing which is a concern for now but as I feel, TVS will go big (It will still take time)
It is not properly podcast realised. Audience following for knowledge this channel. Do not just do for million / billion likes. This technology will be demolished in next ten years. Will last only for urban areas. All the best.
Just a small feedback, sometimes I feel you are out from reality. Indian brands like Royal Enfield & Tata are global brands operating in US, UK & EU, Tata owns Jaguar & Land Rover. Hero, TVS and Bajaj are highly respected in African continent. You are doing great podcast and I listen it everytime but please have a good research and don't stay in bubble. There are many listed auto ancillaries companies working with BMW, Audi, Mercedes and other global brands as well. Also, "Apne ancestors ke pass bohot kuch tha sir" :)
first impression is not the best impression. i thot first Tarun will be so boring..but he made a real point...Indians are have never leant to make institutions.... THAT WAS THE EL:EPHANT IN THE ROOM.. Tarun is a visionary...! I hope he will be next Ratan Tata / Steve Jobs in his space...
Steve Jobs didn’t say ‘Liberal Arts’ lol. He said it’s exciting to stay at the intersection of technology and humanity (big difference). Plus, you’ve got most of Steve Jobs wrong. I’d suggest you to read the autobiography before building his ‘core thesis’. As always, you get good guests and waste a lot of their time.
