I have this keyboard, and it's absolutely A Tier. Yes, if you want to customize it and pull it apart, there are some challenges, but if you just like the aesthetic and don't plan a modify it, it's pretty perfect imo. The volume up is very convenient and the looks really stand out. Highly recommend if you're just looking for a solid keyboard with this style design

I'm very glad I found this review because I fell in love with the exact model you're reviewing as my first custom keyboard and wanted to set it to that "Blue" as well. I'm definitely not going for it now as you e described how difficult it is to actually customize, which was the whole point! I was going to mess with trying different switches and keycap combo's as there was much to like about the crystal case. Subscribed! Watching more reviews now to see your top choices! I still recommended if you only care about the looks and hitting a certain aesthetic. It works well outside the box and has great r g b.

@@Macktube definitely! I ended up getting a Zoom75 which had a little more features and "thock" sound to it with choices of customization. This will be the 2nd one when that time comes for another fun keyboard! I still really enjoy the aesthetics of it!

Over all, this was a great review and good break down of the pros and cons so I subbed to you. The only thing I didn't agree with you on is that they should include the screw drivers for take-down. If you plan on customizing a keyboard, you should own the necessary tools. That shouldn't be the manufacturers job. I've wanted this keyboard for a while now but I have mixed feelings about it. I've also seen some pretty bad quality control on them.

Honestly I've been on the fence for a really long time. Even on sale these keyboards are still pricey and I see quite a number of complaints about bad switches and constantly having to replace them so I wonder if it's a circuit problem. I own 2 keyboard from Coolkiller and have had ZERO issues with the functionality but I have been wanting the Kiiboom because of the base RGB which coolkiller does not currently have but perhaps functionality should be prioritised over aesthetics. I am really loving my Balloon 84, it's been absolutely perfect.

I can't decide whether to pre-order the 98 and wait for just got with a smaller variant.

98 will give you less desk space but you can always buy a separate numpad and put it away when you're not using it (they have very similar looking transparent ones on Amazon for much cheaper than the Kiiboom numpad). Also, a separate numpad is arguably more comfortable to use for many.

@@idylledoll I ended up going with the Kiiboom 98 and it’s pretty awesome. Feels nice compared to my old Corsair K70

Kind of bad review. This keybaord is pretty damn perfect for the price if you just want it stock, and modding it is only slightly more inconvenient. S-tier stock, A-tier for modding
