Girl you’re telling me! I went HARD copper after never dying my hair before & I wasn’t prepared for the maintenance, but I love it so much it’s worth it!
I have had copper hair since April and I have tried all the other colours too (pink, blue, blonde, brown, red, cherry red, pink red etc) on my hair and this is the only colour that truly is high maintenance. I get it done professionally and I have had MANY different shades at this point. It is HARD even for hairdressers to do the exact shade when you go to the salon. I STILL LOVE IT THOUGH AND IT IS WORTH IT.
My son is a natural copper ginger. I love his hair. It’s thick and beautiful and luscious. During the fall I add copper into my blonde balayage hair and let it grow out and add more blonde back in for summer. I now have a really pretty mix of blonde and copper throughout, but I have natural copper undertones in my dark blonde hair anyways, so I guess it just works that much more easily. 🤷🏼♀️
I don't find it hard to maintain at all I have natural dark brown hair and dye it copper with no problem my hair is almost the same color as yours, the only color I ever found hard to maintain was black, I believe it is the most difficult to keep especially when your roots are coming in dark brown you can see the difference.
I think the exact opposite, I think it's a high maintenance. I've always balayage/fading blonde hair. Which means I could've gotten away with not coloring my hair for months if I wanted to. I was not prepared with how quick root growth was showing and how often I had to retouch it. It was fun for a while but now I'm looking at a way to go back to a natural/warm blonde because I don't have the time and energy to keep it that way.
You're right it's hard to keep any red color. I do hair, so it's no big deal. I'm into warmer colors,so copper is really nice! I do mine extra copper when I do mine. I got copper now. This pic was a few months sgo. That was a honey blonde. Yours is cute!
