Moonlight Meow I finally saw one over the weekend at a pokestop, but I wasn't in a position where I could get to it 🙁 And I was an hour and a half from home 😕
No you can't get it with a tm. No you can't get it with adding a charge move... unless that's new because it didn't work before...i tried it once... unless it's possibility of getting a community day move it's not a guaranteed thing.
SumDude I’m waiting for Gible Community Day. I don’t even have nearly enough candy, and mine has lousy ivs. I got a 100% IV Mudkip last Community day, and I evolved it on Community day (it was through a trade on Community Day), so it knows Hydro Cannon. I will max it out when I can, and teach it 2 moves too. Super-rare ones like Gible, I have to wait for Community Day. Makes you wonder if Mega Evolution and Z moves will be a thing too.
Really good advice. Thanks for the tips. I am waiting to evolve some special mons. One other "gift" from Niantic which I and others would like to see - the ability to exchange "Lucky Friends" gifts from a distance. Perhaps institute this during Christmas so trainers could exchange Christmas "Lucky Gifts".
Since I started playing pogo, I've always waited to evolve my good mons until I actually needed them. So your advice is good since I got good smack down Tyranitars during its community day. Keep up the great work.
This video is the embodiment of what I am hoping for this December. I started pokemon go days before the treecko community day, and have wanted some of the power houses mentioned from year 1. Upon reading about last December's community day I've had high Hope's for the probability of this years having all the pokemon CDay moves available. I often watch your videos rarely comment, but I am excited that you share my ideas on the matter and found this video really solidified my want to be patient and save great iv strong pokemon for possible community days. I know currently that cranidos getting a CDay is only speculation, but the idea of it getting a CDay now in my mind will make me wait and see. Like you I already evolved a great iv (98%)1 and leveled it up...but it will be enough to get me by with the army of other strong pokemon available. Anyways keep up the great work with your videos! They are always very informative and very enjoyable!
Billy Lutz Yes...But it was also the last of my best Pokémon to evolve 😅. Just will have to start from scratch and be patient in the future. Just started playing again so the whole community day and events are all new to me
Bro I downloaded pokemon go the day it came out in 2016. I waisted all my pokeballs catching a charmander and didn't play again till June of this year lmao. I wish I would have found your channel before two days ago thanks cheers
. I just started the game on September 16 ,2019. I wish i watched this video before i evolved and maxed out my 98% Larvitar and Beldum on October 2019 🤦🏻♀️
2:58 I remember this moment dearly... The first week I played Pokémon Go I got so commited and stacked a lot of Pokémon and items, and of course my brain tell me to evolve the highest CP wasting my candies and stardust untill my resources are depleted. Then my friend who have been playing for a long time saw me doing that he said exactly what you said at 2:58 and proceed to explain. Long story short I was devastated at all low IV evolved Pokémon in my storage.
Since it looks like the December Community Day Rehash is going to be an annual thing, have you thought about updating this video (and all your original Strategy videos) considering all the newly released pokemon, their move sets and the GBL? Like an annual update? Just an idea if you needed one for the future. Thanks for all you hard work on these very informative videos!
@@billylutz It did have a research event during Adventure Week. You could get Shieldon and Cranidos from fairly common tasks. It is how I have two 100 IV versions of Rampardos and Cranidos right now. They were low CP though so take a lot of dust to level up.
I got a 100% Cyndaquil and I made the mistake of evolving it to the third evolution. Really wished a knew about community days so I would have saved it to get the special move 😔😔
Thanks for another great video. I have been hatching Beldum and Bagon left and right. Guess I’ll go through them and see if I have a Maxed Out Monday candidate. Thanks again Billy!! You rock.
Recommendation 3 - trade beldum, bulbasaur, treecko, larvitar, mudkip, etc before December to get lucky pokemon and then, if they bring back the community day moves, not only will you have access to the special move, but it will also be lucky (hopefully, with high IVs) and cost less stardust to power up. That's what I'm doing.
I agree that patience is key but also in the game there will always be more pokémon, more candies and more stardust so restraining yourself too much would be a waste and ruin a bit of the fun in my opinion. Also it's fun to have the new rare ones maxed out to flex with in gyms and raid battles hehe
I know/realize (However you want to put it) that I am late to replying to this...So no one is probably going to see this! But I feel compelled to comment anyways 🤓 So because I didn’t know this, I would HAVE just upgraded the highest CP version of the Pokémon I got/found...In fact that’s what I have done all the time playing until today! But now that I know this, I think what I’m going to do, is prioritize going for the maxes out Pokémon (If it’s one I really REALLY want), but I would also keep one of the “50% Better” Pokémon for battling! And depending on backpack space, that would be the reason I either kept it or got rid of it, also maybe it would depend on sentimental value as well! But this video seriously helps out a lot! Thank you very much, seriously! I am a “Collector” (Of a lot of different things) but this is definitely going to change, for the better, how I play this game! And because I didn’t know this before, it adds another little meta for me to go digging into as well! 😝
I've fallen into that trap already In evolving something before a CD. Swampert is my favorite starter and I was so excited that I evolved my 2 hundos before CD was even a thing.
@@billylutz this video has deffinitly changed my view on maxing a gible once I get one. If it's really good IVs I'll keep it for CD. If it's bad I'll just evolve now. I caught a tiny gabite in the wild but I traded it because it was too tiny to save for lucky trade
I’m so glad I discovered your channel. I’ve been playing less than a year and I’m recently discovered IVs. PvP scenarios and realizing that a hundo May not be the best mon for a PvP battle. Thanks for your content, it’s very helpful for someone like me, who is learning the mechanics!
Nah man. TTar is best used as a dark attacker with bite/crunch while getting a Rampardos will net you better results from the rock typing. Much higher DPS over Rock Smash/Stone Edge TTar. Plus less candies to power up a Cranidos since you don't have the 100 candy drop to get it to Rampardos like Pupitar has with TTar.
worthless advice for new players and vets already know this. its like giving investment advice for billionaires where to invest their mass fortunes to people on food stamps.
1. Love hearing people that never played an actual pokemon before getting into Pogo and learning about iv's 2. Cranados won't have a community day because it's a fossil pokemon and is a two stage pokemon. Every community day has been three stage pokemon save for Pikachu and Eevee because obviously they'd do CD for those two
The lucky Garchomp flex for Raikou day was totally worth it in performance. People asking whose it was was just a bonus. If you get use out of it now, it's not a total loss!
I feel like this is not good advise for new players. it incentivices grind over fun and for a lot off people that can cause heavy burn out and kill the game
I hatched a 100% gible and later while doing random trades got a 100% lucky gible so now I got 2. I’m getting me non lucky to garchomp now and I’ll save my other one for later
@@tsy1992 you never know. Lucario is a very popular Pokemon and as far as I'm aware, it doesn't have access to its signature move Aura Sphere since its not in the game yet
Larvitar's a bit of a mixed bag. Double-Dark T-tar is currently the best dark type attacker, so is worth it to do him not on C-day, and while Rampardos might have taken the top rock-type attacker slot a double-rock Tyranitar is still pretty boss, but does require C-day move eligibility. I say to save your first and maybe second good Larvitar for potential C-day move, then go for a dark T-tar or two. Roselia is another mixed bag like Larvitar. Roserade is best grass AND poison attacker, so save your first good one for potential C-day and evolve your second good one. When/if it gets a C-day just TM the pre-evolved one to cover the move type NOT granted by the C-day. Win-Win with both these pokemon, but definitely want to save the first good one for C-day so you aren't caught with your trousers down.
I’m currently sitting on two Riolu’s with decent CP but terrible IV’s. I really want a good Lucario, and I finally saved up enough candy to evolve, but I’m trying to hold out and wait for one with great IV’s
That’s insane you have those but yeah definitely keep both. Garchomp will most likely take over Groudon’s spot as top ground encounter if it gets earth power as it’s CD move. Also give them both outrage as that’s useful as well.
I do this for the shiny mostly. A lot of people, when they get a shiny, they immediately evolve it but I don't, so I can mirror trade them when the moment arises.
I got back into POGO just in time for Bagon day this year. So I literally missed every community day prior. I am seriously sitting on so many pokemon waiting for December. That is helping me to make sure I'm getting good luckys so when I evolve them they will be the best I have. I got a Lucky Turtwig that came over at over 1000 cp and 91% IV's. Come September that's going to be my BEAST.
Nice video!!! A lot to potentially plan for!!! I actually think that saving a good PvP IV eevvee for umbreon would really be another Pokémon to save (after walking it) for a December community day. Last resort is excellent for PvP.
I've found one gible in the wild. It was 82% IV and level 23. It was the night before the Raikou event. That baby got FAT off my rare candies and the level 33 Garchomp put in work against Raikou. This is the problem with your strategy, you'e foregoing the joy you could have from the Garchomp. It's C-day could be a year away. I'm with Poke Ak, evolve one now, then save the rest for C-Day.
Juju Mejulaf I hatched the 98 wasted all my Rare candys and evolved it +Max than i woke up and caught the First gible in the wild at my house 100% but its cp 250 >.< have to Walk a Bit for the candys
Extremely wise advice! I absolutely agree with you; it's best to play the patience game with Pokemon Go. Later on when an exclusive move comes out or you can get your favorite new Pokemon through a lucky trade, THEN and only then invest the resources into evolving and powering up. It's hard to wait, but it's worth it.
