There is one part of my 6/7/24 FibroScan that I don't understand, Dr. Risinger. CAP score of 305 and a Fibrosis score of 5.9. The conclusion by the doctor who read my images was F0-1 zero to mild fibrosis (which I agree with) and mild hepatic steatosis (which I don't agree with). A CAP score of 305 is steatosis grade S3, severe fatty liver with more than 2/3 of my liver having fatty change. I've called the doctor to question how he reached his conclusion and he won't talk to me about it, said I'm not his patient, he just interpreted the results. What do you think? Do I have mild fatty liver or severe fatty liver?
All my blood test (ALT, AST, Bilirubin, Albumin, Sodium, Creatinine) are all perfect, but I was diagnosed with S3 F3 severe fibrosis……can the Fibroscan be inaccurate? I’m technically obese (muscular but do have some fat), and I also have a 6cm benign hemangioma mass in my liver. I do have some liver area pain when I have a big or rich meal but other than that I have no symptoms. Never been an alcoholic and rarely drink. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
@@danielleg2616 hey just got my results for my ultrasounds and no fibrosis at all!!! Don’t trust the fibroscans they are always inflated if you have high inflammation or higher bmi. Always get either a MRI or ultrasound or even a biopsy to confirm. Don’t just rely on fibroscan
But is the fibroscan test reliable though? My blood test shows an elevated ALK and I experience pain in my upper right stomach area but the fibroscan resulted showed a mean score of 207 and a median score of 4.1 which is normal. However, this doesn't add up as I have been experiencing pain and elevated ALK P blood test results for 3 years now (bone disease has been ruled out). One explanation could be that the technician sticks the instrument to my side but the pain that I experience is at the top right upper stomach area and could possibly explain why my fibroscan results come back normal as this painful area is left out?
@@andou5814the expression “Why thank you” is just an old English expression from Victorian times which means she was pleasantly surprised by your sweet comment. ❤
Your doctor should have also told you that a liver can be caused by our autoimmune system attacking our liver and bile ducts. I have this and it's called Primary Biliary Cholangitis. PBC for short. It used to be called Primary Biliary Cirrhosis but was misleading, as not everyone goes on to develope cirrhosis, so has now been changed to Primary Biliary Cholangitis instead. Unfortunately, not all medical professionals or nurses know that it's not always caused by Alcohol.
I don't drink nor misuse medications, yet a dose of Tamiflu put me in 3 different hospitals with acute liver failure. I almost died. I hope your doctor gets better training. I've had a fatty liver since college, yet I wasn't overweight & I had a reputation for being a "health food nut" because I have always eaten well. I'm an Alpha-1, and that isn't really so rare, but it is grossly under-diagnosed and misdiagnosed. A doctor who knows better told me that the other doctor shouldn't have ever given me Tamiflu being an Alpha-1 MZ carrier and that it isn't a surprise that I developed liver failure from it. I have other conditions that are counter-indicated with this treatment as well, and it was ignored, or that ER doctor wasn't aware of these issues. Training is sadly not great in some med schools. I'm sorry your doctor doesn't have proper training, either. What's happened to our medical system???
@bios3431 in my own opinion, Sugar is caused by a lot of things and especially with Process foods and Sodas . I had this test done , I have 3 weeks to get the results . I pray it's Normal. As far as Alcohol , I never drink it , but I am wrong for drinking soda 17 years and on. I stopped eating Process food and started eating foods that's healthy , Organic ,etc.
No Sir liver Elastography through USG only gives you the image of the liver which is dependable on the radiologist.Yes MRI is good but how many times you tell your patients to go for MRI. That's why Fibroscan is the best
