Hi Brett, really enjoyed your video and it helped me a lot. I had a flawless install and looks perfect, but my fingerprint won't register at all. Running out of ideas. I just get the "cover the whole sensor" and the "push harder" message when trying to register it. Any tips/tricks/ideas to help with this? thanks very much!
thank you so much for this video! went on perfectly first try, and it's because of this video making the process seem fairly straightforward and easy. my desk is on carpet and not level, but i found out i just had to tilt the tray/add in cushioning underneath for the glue to move around near the end, and to keep it in position.
honestly thank you so much for this video, just done my 3rd install (my first compleetely failed, 2nd worked great, 3rd needed after screen replacement). I follow this step by step each time and it takes so much stress out of it. much better than the actual instructions!
I just installed one on my new S21 ultra and now they have an automated mechanism that you wind-up and flip a switch and it does everything for you. I was extremely nervous and it ended up coming out perfectly on the 1st try. They have really made it stupid proof as of December of 2021.
I know the point of the video was to demonstrate how to properly install the screen protector and show how little time it actually takes, but c'mon why did you cut and speed up the video while not changing the timer to reflect that?? It takes more time if you sped it up and cut parts out
Great video! Especially I very much appreciate that you showed how easily a problem can occur during installation, and how to solve it in such a case. This makes your video more helpful than all the others on RU-vid. I just received my dome glass and will try to install it in the coming days.
Thank you so much, I succeeded at 99%! just a small dust at the last moment that came between the screen protector and the phone screen... but finally I found a good screen protector!
Here's what I did when my glue didn't completely cover the screen. On the opposite end of the messed up spot, I applied the uv light and cured the good end. I then used a credit card and squeegee the glue to the end where the glue didn't completely cover, I held the card at the end so glue and screen was completely on and I carefully used the light on this and now. This worked 100% and I recommend trying this
I saw some videos regarding the installation but none after a period of time... my undestanding is it is glass, the glass of the phone can expand or retract... what will happen with the protective galss... does it will begin to crack on the edges ?
Just ordered mine through your link to their website because they've got them 25% off right now, so the two pack starter kit cost me less than $40. I hope you get some money from the affiliate link because your video was great.
17:21 - I had the exact same issue with my S20 Ultra - It's because the foam side-buffers provided are slightly too long for the tray, so they bulge slightly towards the center and ultimately stop the glass from falling.
Thanks for the video. Did two for mine and wife's and they went great. Just a bit of a bubble at the very top due to me putting the speaker sticker a bit to close to the screen and it got caught on the protector. I've done these and Amfilm and these are much better.
Had the WD Glass on both my Notes 8 and 9, but not sure I'll put it on the Note 20 Ultra. I was disappointed to find out that the current version of the glass has blue light filtering. I prefer absolutely clear glass....allow ME to have the phone filter blue light, if that's what I choose to do. Also, the current pricing is unsurprisingly bonkers, at 70 clams.
Does this Dome Glass properly fit with a Otterbox Defender Pro? Also, if the glass breaks does that adhesive come off easily so you can install another Dome Glass or other screen protector?
The glass seems like it can fit, I have not tried it installed due to failing on applying it twice😕 but the tolerance with the top peice and the glass seem to fit well with wiggle room
I have heard from several reviews that the dome glass is not compatible with the Otter Box Defender Pro case, would you happen to know if this is true as I would like to install the Dome Glass on my S20+ but I am using the Defender Pro case. I tried to contact Whitestone many times about this but all of my emails have gone unanswered which also concerns me if I ever have a warranty claim to process. Any information would be helpful.
No, you don't need to. You could always bypass the fingerprint first time setup (I don't know if you need to do this), increase sensitivity, and then set up fingerprints.
Tip: If you use 1 and 1/2 bottle of the glue, it prevents it from peeling or lifting. Granted, if you do that, and you mess up, your screen is useless because yoou not only have a 1/2 to use on the some glass. I would suggest you put a couple dome glasses on to get use to the process before trying to 1 1/2 bottle. Trade off is that you can keep the dome glass longer, but you run the risk of not having one at all of you mess up. Good luck, message me for questions.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a table top leveling work surface? I have difficulty getting a stable, level surface. Messing around manually manipulating the holding tray doesn't work too well for me... Thanks in advance!
Can Anyone confirm these DO NOT have small tiny dots along the sides and middle of the screen protector? I bought one from AMfilms and that one had them. Such a horrible idea.
Does the phone still fit in a case with a bumper on it after you put the glass on? I had a (glass) screen protector (also with glue and UV-light) from another brand and my phone case with bumper pushed the glass off from the corners.
@@chiveyampersand I bought one and just installed it, using the official installation guyide video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3nePcipSR2A.html and this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nt2GEiU54s0.html AND checking all the comments for mistakes others made. So I know for a fact I installed it right. I will let you know if it will hold after a month or so
@@chiveyampersand I can confirm, I have been using it for over a month now (with a phone case with bumper) and it is still on it. I use my phone at work, where I am a mechanic and the screen protector is still perfectly in place. I hope it is easy to replace though once thats needed to hahaha
@@chiveyampersand Hey let me give you an update; there are two spots where it is starting to get a little loose. This is the case at the bottom right corner and on the top left side (not on the corner). I think it happened at work, although I dont have not did anything weird with it. I think it might attach properly again if I use the UV light on it (hope so). I am not going to try it anytime though, since it is not falling off and it is not that bad (yet). I have been using it for two months before this happened
people are a bit dramatic about the process. It's not that bad, unfortunately what happened to you on the S20+ happened on mine, but it still worked out.
The instructions are goofy. After curing 15 sec top & bottom in step 7 then wiping. Step 8 then says to cure another minute. It then says to repeat this for 1 more minute. But it says total curing time is 135 sec for the top and 135 for the bottom.
WARNING THIS CAN DAMAGE YOUR PHONE IS SOMETHING GOES WRONG: These whitestone screen protectors damaged a few phones displays of a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, & Note 20 Ultra I installed it on. The UV Glue got past the absorbing pads and got in between where the Glass display meets the metal frame and cause a permanent large dark spot inside the display on both phones. It damages the displays. Had to pay Samsung $700.00 to replace two displays for two brand new out the box galaxy phones. They wouldn't cover the phones under warranty because the said the glue is considered as liquid damage.
i installed one on my s9 plus and im upgrading this week so i have to send my s9 back i took the Glass Screen Protector off and i cant beleive how much it cracked and felt so flimsy for the £50 it cost now do i buy another for my 20 ultra or not cant decide although it did its job but to be fair i only dropped it once and was'nt far
FYI: For those who have deep scratches on their screens, who feel this glass is too pricey to put on a deep scratched screen. *the adhesive actually seeps into the scratches and you're scratches will not be seen. The scratches will virtually dissappear. Good luck, message me for questions.
Awfully ugly!!!!!! I was about to cry!!!!! My Galaxy S20 and I were NOT successful even after using 2nd screen and 2 glue! This screen protector may not be the best option for Galaxy S20 😓
I used it and it fits perfectly. It was not easy to apply it (took me about an hour in total, including watching videos about it), but it still holds after a month and my screen is clear as day
Don't make a Video like that if you don't know how to install it yourself. The matt side of the installation guide is on the bottom. But thanks for ruining my protection
If I didn't tell you to watch the video 3 times and read the instructions thoroughly before you do your install I apologise. I have done many of these and as you can see I still failed after two successful attempts. Hopefully your next try works better.
@@TechWithBrett The mistake won't vanish by watching it again and again and isn't the whole purpose of this video to make it right and better and having a few tips that aren't in the instructions. So if that isn't the case what's the point of this video?
