Your a natural for RU-vid. This makes sense to me. I’m a patient with Dr. Robert Wilson Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, do you doctors/ specialists for Pots patients ever reach out to one another to chit chat ideas back and forth? This diagnosis can be life changing my hopes are that you intelligent doctors compare notes every now and then in hopes of finding better treatments or medication for us patient’s. Please reach out to Wilson, maybe a light 💡 bulb will go off for a new direction to help us patient’s. Your vid’s are great. God bless everyone that’s reading my comment.

Thanks for the advice! Of course, it's the right thing to do. The thing is that with long covid and ME, laying on the stomach becomes a reflex as it is also weirdly easier to breathe in this position, for muscular reasons. I will definitely try to change this anyway.

I wonder if the adrenals play a role in POTS.
@peterfranks7619
@peterfranks7619 11 месяцев назад
100% it does, how o I know. I’ve been told I have the highest adrenaline markers he’s ever seen. Way above 1,000

The more useful question is what controls your adrenal glands. If you suddenly started salivating uncontrollably you wouldn't assume your salivary glands were broken, you would assume something is causing them to be overactive. So what type of a situation causes activity in the different parts of the adrenals? Epinephrine is a metabolic hormone with almost no activity at the sympathetic nerve terminals. If it is being released in excess, a part of the feedback loop is obviously failing. The adrenal glands are simply glands. They don't have a mind of their own. Are the body's inputs being interpreted effectively and providing the correct outputs? That is a more useful question. From there, you go down a more useful path. 🙏

Can you recommend some pillows that would be helpful for keeping the neck aligned and still be comfortable and affordable?

Do you work with people in Australia or know of a clinic in Australia that does the same line of work you do?

I feel like im swaying or falling when I'm laying down. Takes about 5-10min for that feeling ro go away. Sometimes it's while sitting. Mostly laying down. What do you think would cause this?

Sounds like it could be a vestibular disorder. This is most likely a vertigo episode

How about waking up shaky, like feeling a vibration on the chest? Is that a neurological reaction to pots?
@dockeiser

Good question. You could look up the term Akathesia. That describes a common feature that we see.

I read that it's because the immune system is more active during the day and especially in the morning (as opposed to feeling better in the evening as the immune system is less active then).
@dockeiser
@dockeiser 10 месяцев назад
The question here points back to what controls the immune system. Immune hyperactivity is a function of an inappropriate feedback loop. Here you are describing an element of circadian arrhythmia. I'm proposing a tool that can be useful to people improve somatosensory inputs to the brain for an extended epoch overnight that has a probability of improving functional outputs over time. Hope that helps.

Doesn't work, I've always been super aware of keeping my neck in a neutral position and using pillows to stop any rolling, I've been doing this for years and constantly waking up with severe migraines which I never had in the beginning.
@dockeiser
@dockeiser 11 месяцев назад
Mmm… doesn’t work? Or didn’t work for your particular migraine symptom? That makes sense. Now you know your neck isn’t the sole driver. Solve the next problem. Good luck!

That’s what’s hard to understand. Most of us have a diagnosis of Pots but every individual their treatments are different. One works for you doesn’t work for me. That’s why it’s so challenging for these good hearted doctors to try to figure out what might help. Long story short it’s a revolving door, and for whatever reason we’re all in our own little partition for this diagnosis which my simple mind has a hard time comprehending. I know this doesn’t help but it’s how I feel.
