Even Apl de ap would have been a better choice i understand she is proud of her roots but the doesnt mean she deserves being a tourist ambassador when theres alot who is more deserving

I think Vanessa being a Tourism Ambassador is more of a cross promotion for her documentary than anything else. It just means the Department of Tourism can use her image in the marketing campaign which in turn helps promote her documentary. There's like a business benefit for both parties.

Lol. in the peak of her career she was promoting Philippines by way of speaking up that she is half-Filipino in her movies and in interviews. She was even taken as Unicef ambassador to help typhoon victims in the Philippines.

I think it's because Tagalog is not her dialect. Her mom is from Surigao. Visayas and Mindanao people cannot even speak tagalog fluently while staying in the country all their lives.

@SpottyBumps Crafts 🙌 Mao gyud. Si Bretman Rock nga eh when he came back to PH he had to practice tagalog pa, with an accent and forgot a lot of Tagalog words. But when he speaks Ilocano he didn't need practice and was still very fluent. Ang mga Tagalog kasi akala nila walang ibang dialect sa bansa nila kasi Tagalog lang alam nila. 😂

I'm form manila and when I visit cebu last year ..seriously... hirap magtagalog ang mga bisaya... because they used their local language more. So I understand why his mom is not so fluent in tagalog. ganyang ganyan mga Cebuano.. they prefer you talk to them in english than tagalog. Hirap talaga sila... although taga mindanao ..it';s just the same.. Better explore the Philippines more..madame ka pa matuutklasan sa sarili mong bansa na di mo inaakala na ganun hehe

Thats true,ive been living here in SG only for 10yrs and sometimes at work i got some filipino customers and hirap din aq mg tagalog sknila,ms nsnay n aq mkipg communicate in english at prang awkward n pg tagalog. We cant judge them why only now,maybe vanessa was busy with her career thats why she cannot come here until now and also being in states its not so easy to go back in the phils,even here in SG if i want to bring my kids kailngan mg match ang working schedule q and school holidays for that to happen. We dont really know them so we cant judge. Just saying po and dont want to argue. God bless us all❤

When you stay in a country and speak their languange for a long time, then suddenly go back to your home town it will really take time to adjust and remember the language again... my cousin went to a french country for 2 years (2 years lang yun ha) and he needs to speak and learn their language as a missionary. Not able to speak our dialect since commu from us is thru email only. No phone calls of video calls. So he basically have not heard our language in that span of time. When he came home, for a few days nahihirapan siya magbisaya ulit.. although we know he was trying hard. Now he is back in fluently speaking our local dialect. Imagine that. Think how the mother is struggling to speak tagalog.. and FYI, bisaya people are much comfortable in speaking in english than in tagalog.
