I was looking for those stormtroopers and law enforcement that cleared the peaceful protestors out of Lafayette Square in June 2020. They would have had the US Capitol cleared in minutes for another photo-op if they thought it was BLM.
Can we just pause for a moment and absorb the scenario in which a US general pleads the fifth amendment when asked if he believes in peaceful transfer of power.
What is surprising is that there were two of them open to tell the truth, they are republicans after all, meaning they are all ok with lies and and alternative fake realities (that IS WHY they are republicans, in the first place).
That would be great, but not effective until we start enforcing existing laws, otherwise its just another meaningless one. Let's hope DOJ does their job.

I remember when I was 13 years old, I joined a Summer Football team with my best friend at our local High School. It was basically a sort of tryout for those that had never played, and were mostly horrible at playing the game because we knew nothing. They were trying to identify some talent for the freshman class. The coach got us in a huddle and got us to start screaming and believing that we could sack the QB, and I did! It was flag football, but I was so excited. From that point on, I believed every single word from the coach in the huddle. He could have told me to hit my best friend in the face, and I would have done it. It wasn't just because of the coach, it was the group mentality. That experience shapes me to this day. The danger, the flaw that we have as humans to act like idiots following a cult leader is ever present. Obviously, but we always think we would never do this. Think again.

He may have been doing that because there were specific things he was bound legally in a different investigation not to divulge. He may have been just confirming that he could legally answer without getting himself in legal trouble with his lawyer. He seemed pretty genuine in his eagerness to aid them in the investigation. I saw him as pretty credible so I'd like to think that was the reason. Not as much to "not tell the truth" but more to keep himself from having to pay fines or serve a sentence of sort.

If it was made easy to put political opponents into prison, then Trump would still be President and the whole democratic party would be in prison. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan from the start and for hours on 1/6 offered repeatedly and insistently thru every channel conceivable to send in our state National Guard. Our troops could have been on the ground at the Capitol literally within *minutes* to support the Capitol Police and quell the violence. But Gov Hogan was relentlessly and thoroughly stonewalled throughout that entire afternoon, never receiving authorization thus blocked from taking the single most obvious step of actual assistance fully within his power and remit to stop the violence. [BTW Governor Hogan is a Republican.]
