@@borissztorch7954 It depends where you live. In the U.S the newer generation came out in the 2017 model year, but in Europe in the 2016 model year. But as long as your car is equipped with Apple CarPlay - it will work. It will NOT work without it.

@@borissztorch7954 The best way is to connect an iPhone to the correct USB cable and it should start on your screen automatically. Just plug and play. Or request the original sticker from the nearest MB dealership, which shows all the standard AND optional equipment based on your car's VIN#.

Do you know if the license to Apple Car play has to be activated in Mercedes Benz MBUX in order for this box to work? I mean my MB has apple car play and android auto, but I can't use them cuz I never paid for smartphone integration which is an additional service in MB. Do you know if MB owners have to buy smartphone integration first in order for this box to work? Thank you!

BMW is not compatible with this one, however there is another Box that may work with your car, made specifically for BMW. Should be available after Feb. 8th. Check with me then.

@@andreszz2158 Yes, a Box now works well in iD6 systems, but not as good in iD7. So, I don't recommend it for now. Currently, the manufacturer works on the solution...

I don't know what model you have, but I'm just saying you can get a powerhouse Android Box for half price of the Mercedes SD card navigation. I'm just comparing the value of the product comparing to what else you can get for that price.

This box requires Apple Carplay. Only if your car is equipped with Apple Carplay, then it should work.

What's 4.43? It should work at 16 x 9 aspect ratio, which is the ratio to watch RU-vid. If not, change it in settings. If that's what you meant.

It doesn't matter what kind of phone you have. Your car needs to have Apple Carplay function for this Android Box to work. It tricks your car thinking that you connected iPhone, but it works with any phone or it can even work without your phone, as long as you create a hotspot.

Hi Why can not get Android Auto or appel carPlay installed in GLE 350 eq 2021 model. Have USB c and symbol in place, but it does not work. Workshop says it does not work?

You need to install the "Android Auto" app on your phone. Then in your car go to Apps and Connect.

What year is your GLE? You don't need to activate Apple CarPlay, if it's there - it's there.

Apparently my 2016 MB GLC 300 has Apple Carplay but I never used it since I use Android devices. But my car doesn't have touch screen. Will your device change my settings so I will have touch screen?? If so I want (and NEED) it!!!

The first GLC that offered an optional Apple Carplay was 2018 GLC, so unfortunately your model doesn't have it.

Does anyone know how to set the time on this box - without having to be online?? I find that unless it is online connected to your phone hotspot or similar it shows a wrong time starting from 08:00 which is REALLY annoying!

Yes, you can, but when this Box is disconnected, it loses the power and goes dead. It doesn't have any built-in batteries, so when it wakes up, it will sync time when connected online.

Hello I am a new subscriber and have been looking for the information on how to turn off the annoying replace key battery that pops up on screen after start up. Even though I replaced the battery and the key works fine it still keeps telling me to replace battery in key. How can I fix this and thank you for any information. Also how do I program a new key or an old one that lost its connection. I have a 2011 E-Class 350.

Maybe the new battery is defective or not charged fully. Try another battery. Also, if you carry 2 keys, make sure the batteries are good in both keys. The SmartKey programming can be performed at any local Mercedes dealership.

If it was that easy, anyone could've copy your smartkey, including thieves. Can be done by MB dealership only.

You probably would need to take a trip, unless you can find someone specializing in Mercedes locally, with a proper equipment. But before you drive, call them and ask if they can do it by mail or recommend someone who is closer. However I would suggest to bring it anyway, and also perform a software update for your 2011 car. That can fix a lot of bugs on its own.

No, because this model doesn't have Apple CarPlay. The first C-Class with Smartphone Integration came out in 2017 as 2018 model, and it was still optional. I'm working on another video how to make your car smart without Apple CarPlay, so stay tuned!

You can always get Mercedes SD Card Navi for $600... which is twice more expensive, barely works, and doesn't allow to stream videos or use any apps. Plus, that price includes all the fees and delivery, so the actual cost is less than $250.
