My favorite thing about WoR is that literally EVERY - SINGLE - Event can be finished with almost zero issue as a 100% F2P player. The only one that you might struggle with is summons if you're like me and summon every day... They spread the required activities out across the week so you never feel like you cant do something. Where Raid drops 4 freaking events at a time and you NEED 3 of them to get the fragments you need and you can literally only do 2 of them unless you drop cash...
Totally, listening to Ash say 'If only you could go back to the previous gear set' while side-eyeing gear plan on the right of the screen >.>. Love you ash, but bit of an F there.
I personally played raid first for quite a while but when I discovered Watcher of realms I just instantly stopped playing raid. The main reason is the fact that is much easier to get good heros in watcher and quite quickly. The other big difference is the free gear removal, I found it so time consuming in raid to farm just to be able to move your gear around. Overall I prefer watcher and I never played back raid after that with no regret.
About 190 days into WoR. Pretty spot on, but you left out Generosity. WoR gives out summon crystals much faster than RAID, and their pity is roughly the same. So you get TO that pity faster in WoR. Also, 15x in the first few months of launch, while it took RAID 4+ years and a super diluted pool before they added it. I play both daily. They are different enough to be played along side each other and not feel boring. Love ya, brother. Sending positive vibes your way if ya need it ;)
I've played raid for years but as soon as I started WOR i got hooked. As a F2P player, I've to say that WOR is thousand times more generous and much more achievable, doable fusions, much easier to summon champions such as legendaries, much less times consumming, etc
To me the best past of WOR is you get heros way faster then raid and so much easier to get them 6 star. I can 6 star any hero i like as soon as i get them.
For non whales the awakening shop is balanced. We spend the epic shards for the legendary skill crystal, and if needed the ascending essence and exp boost. (Your account is far from free to play:D ) Regarding Gear, you missed a huge update where they already fixed your problem. The tab is right there in the right corner. You had a lots of good takes, but I think there is a lot of misinformation in this video so I think you should watch it and fact check and post it again. Also you should get good gear for all your heroes, otherwise you will get stuck in Tide. And tide is full of rewards. Not sure if you already have, but I would recommend having a free to play account to get a better view of how good the game is. Paying in this game is fun, but you do skip a lot of challenging content and resource management
For those that don’t whale on summons I find that the awakening shop is very useful & I always spend my epic tokens. I’m always buying the auto battles and leggo skill crystals and I’ve been playing for 6+ months
I agree 100%! As a nearly f2p player I find the awakening shop great for resources that are harder to get like tons of multi battles. The lots of epic tokens definitely sounds like a whale problem but I see his point.
I hate to say it but... I disagree with Ash for the first time. I personally think that strategy and utalizing the heros you have is more importaint than the actual gear that you have. After almost a year if playing WOR as a mostly free to play player, there were many tough situations that i was told werent possible with my gear and heros that i completed. I love Watchers because it is a constant challenge. I say this because after playing for so long, i still have terrible 3 piece gear sets 😂. Long story short, i love that Watchers is not as gear dependant as you would think and that many things are possible if you try hard enough, not just gear.
One tip for arena auto battling - set your offense and defense when you fight manually against a similar BP opponent. This will make your auto battles far more successful.

Ya i agree the gearing requirement is a Mt. Everest if you dont have champs that help. Like for Gear Raid 1 definitely need anti healing + some good aoe dps. For Gear Raid 3 a Lord bonus that gives you +1 range is almost a must or have extremely high dps gear. Things you left out that are nice in WoR are EXP/Gold dungeons. One thing that i suggest for those content creators that make the gear raid stage 19 is to mention that you need 100% crit + 300% crit damage dps and some speed + rage
i have played both games as a FTP player. WOR is 100 times better for an FTP player then raids. The free login heroes you get in WOR compared to raids is better. Some players still find uses for marri, wrath and others in end game content. The amount of stuff you get from events is way better in WOR. i am getting about 30-40 blue summons a week. in raids it would take me like a month to get that much lol. They have places were you can get red summons in wor. I'm getting 30-40 red summons a month. in raids you get voids from guild boss? is that it . i could go on and on about ftp in wor but i think i made my point. Raids sucks for an FTP player. oh, and the fusions are actually doable for a FTP player and not dependent at all on summoning to complete the fusion like in raids.
Arena "save timing" just needs to be relative to each wave versus time elapsed like it is today. It's not that hard to code and would fix the issue for most teams
Nice vid Ash. I play them both actively and agreeably find lots in Wor that is superior to Raid. I'm looking forward to their 1 year anniversary event which should be soon.
As someone with a year in raid and 3 months in WOR I really enjoy the “forgiveability” for the F2P player. In raid I was constantly coerced into buying stamina packs, especially when they would lower the prices after you don’t buy for a while, as to where in WOR as a F2P I am able to ENJOY their game without being pressured into purchases. WOR also has more of a QOL focus than RAID, which doesn’t seem to want to help its players at all. I am currently at the end of 3 months not playing raid because I’ve hit a plateau. At this point I just enjoy WOR more because I am treated like a respectful patron rather than a walking wallet. Raid was fun, but not sustainble.
Hi Ash it’s cool to see you again. The main reason why I quit Raid was because it felt like a massive job. Does Watcher feel fun or does it feel like a job and a casino ?
Thanks for making this comparison. In a way I don't like how gear dependant this game is. I'm struggling to beat GR3-18. If I could get better gear I think I could do it. I thinks it's too difficult to farm any Ancient Mythic Gear. I'd like it to be easier to get these.
You failed to mention 1 thing. Idk if that's still the same but when i used to play Raid, skill books or in WoR's case skill crystals weren't farmable and were the most frustrating thing for me; whereas in WoR it's not the same case. It was one of the main things why i stopped playing Raid. I'm not sure if that's still the case tho..
There is a very simple explanation for why Raid don't give more notice for events: it is to get the players to FOMO and spend their collected assets now rather than wait on some unknown possible future event.
I really love the cinematic cut scenes when you pull some of the legendary heroes. Definitely adds to the hype! Also the auto-leveling feature to level and upgrade food is non-existent in RAID
dude i don't know what you're talking about with the "non thumbs up" pieces not sucking. I've NEVER seen a good piece that didn't have a thumbs up. On the flip side of that coin though, if it DOES have a thumbs up, it might be good or it might suck. If you do a 200 piece gear run and you get say 30 pieces that have a thumbs up, you KNOW you got 170 shitty pieces and of the 30 "possibly" good pieces, it's gonna be about 10 that are actually good and the other 20 are going to suck. Maybe not even that high, maybe like 6 or 7 good pieces
The difficulty plateaus/jumps are especially bad in faction trials imo. They go from like 280k BP to 580k in one stage increase. Almost all my trials have been stalled for months because I just can’t get enough characters and matching rolls (tanks/healers) for that kind of difficulty increase at once.
I play a lot of WotR, I'm thinking of starting RSL. It's hard to find a fair and simple opinion on both. If you could rate each game out of 100. (I understand they are both different games)
I don’t think you said one thing that I didn’t agree with! I have played RAID during the Rotos fusion, so 100 years ago LoL!!! I’ve played WoR 252 days. WoR took over as my primary almost as soon as I began playing. The things that WoR does better, they do TREMENDOUSLY better and the converse isn’t necessarily true. I quit Raid after a few years as it is too pay to win focused (or being a CC). Out of the 75 Lego’s I have I use 5. All the champs I use are the ones from events. Made it really hard to care most of the time. Once a month I can open shards and have fun. The rest of the time is just waiting.
@Mickey_Valentine what you get from the market depends on your progression, not sure he'll have a lot of mythic gear where he's at, also even at end game there's not a lot of it and getting good main and substats on relevant set is quite rare
That's also linked to progression, I recently started seeing it, 33 days in, the trigger was clearing 16 on GR1-3, and I think clearing AMR 14/15 might have made a difference I can't be sure I did them all in the same day
The gear part u are so right i been trying to beat stage 19 for all the gear raid for like 3 months so i just give up and its not like i have bad heros
maybe on gear presets can add heros to different gear presets so whenever a hero is picked it automatically puts that preset on that hero would be a great feature in WOR
I feel like it should be hard to get demon soldiers. If you make it easy then it’s not interesting. Beating content immediately doesn’t make the game fun, the fun comes from the reward after the grind. You will feel soooo much ch better finally getting that ancient artifact or an upgrade to your demon soldier after working at it for weeks/months whereas if they just give it to you, you won’t appreciate it as much. It’s about creating connection to what you have done
Raid has the same game loop in all its content at least WOR actually mixes it up a little as well as actually being achievable for f2p people and low spenders.
I agree with you in guild wars that demon soldiers are hard to upgrade but also think once u get past level 5 the upgrades do literally nothing. It is very easy to get commons way past level 5 but is also pointless and they remain irrelevant and it is literally impossible to get mythics to level 5 even for the most kraken end game accounts. I wish they would add more skills that unlock with levels and better ways to level so u can feel a better sense of progression.
My pros for WoR - literally in every area better than RSL, generous shop/resources/etc cons - They dilute the hero pool with rubbish lego heroes and epics and nerf drop rates for the good ones (I cant pull a good dps hero and prob never will,) also the better artifacts I cant get (wailing skull!) RSL arena is far better than WoR - only thing I actually think they need to rework somehow. Heroes are literally on auto pilot - look at Wrath, he has no skills to activate so you do literally nothing! He has passives/talents which are basically passives! RSL heroes have various skills which actually give variety. Only as good as your best gear set! well said, but then those top tier heroes also give some leyway!
for me, id much rather have the struggle in gear vs heroes. mainly because to me heroes are the focus. if the heroes im playing with arent fun.. the game isnt fun. and watcher does a great job of making the game feel fun. even if you have to grind. its a FUN grind with FUN heroes. so what if it takes longer to get the gear to make things "optimal". i do hope one day they add a rare only raid or dungeon so the rares can shine, but i like the fact that you can exchange rare heroes for diamonds.. and there are a couple of rare lords which can make a difference even in endgame.
I continue to keep asking for a sell button when everyone looking at a pc of gear. Prime example is ranking a pc of gear to 4 or 8 and getting bad rolls then being able to sell it immediately. Very important and needed. Please!!!
nice vid. didn't play raid coz i didn't like the graphics. played wor since global launch and its good to pass away the time. lots of strategies involved as well so it will keep u on your toes.
Hey I just wasted few hundred dollars on this game trying to get Ajax. All I got was 3 epics and all the rest was blue pulls. I think moonton sucks. I've been playing and spending on it and haven't pull any Legos for a lone time now
Hmmm If Raid was a little bit more less costly in everything It would be better Like silver, gems and tomes They are too scarce And the events take too much energy and gives too less So I'll take Wor
Raid removed the starter set (lifesteal) that every beginner guide tells players to use. I uninstalled right there, it's the type of game I'd enjoy but there's too much nonsense.
Hey Ash. I think RAID is more in favour of Paid2Win players with Watcher's being more in favour of Free2Play player. And that you can see with RAID being more champion-focused and Watchers being more focused on gear. As a F2P you can always get gear but not heroes. So I feel Watcher's is more in favour of providing an equal footing for all its players and even more generous with providing summoning crystals.
WOR is looks like a of Hybrid of games with the likes of games similar to Dragonheir and RAID combined. I don't think WOR can run properly on my PC; too graphic intensive
The reason I quit WoR after 100 days, is because the teams are kinda boring, very champion and gear dependant. But in Raid, you can do a stage with bad gear and fun specific champions. Or, you can do a stage with bad champions but good gear. Farming Gear Dungeon 3 stage 19 will take the same time no matter how good your gear is. There is no improvement in time. You can not set a new goal for yourself for a dungeon. But in Raid, you can decrease your Dragon time from 2 minutes to 1.30 or 1 minute. Or like me, get the world record for 20 seconds. There is so much fun in just always improving your teams, in CB to 1 key, or Hydra. You have a reason to build new champions all the time. Switching gear for free is in a way really nice in WoR. But eventually you have 5 great sets of damage gear that you switch around all the time. Ops you forgot to look at the gear of every champion? Well you waisted a key in the *clan boss*. You thought you started 100 multibattlesbattles? No you forgot to switch the gear on 1 champion, so you lose. Or funny enough, your Idril have too good gear, so you killed the boss in gear raid 3 too fast, so she dont get enough *mana* to cast here ability when needed... Its just so stupid. Its a blessing AND a curse. Then, there is the combat. So, do you want this damage deal, that damage dealer or that one. It does not matter, just take the one that does the most damage. There is almost no strategy. If you have Silas, put him down and you are done with him for the rest of the battle. There is no buffs other than the 1 champion Dolores. There is no debuffs. Also, WoR gear is boring, and the attack - defence formula is stupid, and makes good gear a requirement for later content. There is litterally no way to do later game content with good gear when you need 15.000 attack instead of 10.000. Its not 50% more damage, but maybe 150% because of the stupid formula. Conclusion: WoR is fun until you realise you need a +3 Silas for him to increase your damage by 50%. And you cannot do 1 key damage before you have better gear or champions. You need to grind 100 GR 3 for a chance of 1 good piece. But Oops it has healing effect. Lets farm 100 more. And that is just after 100 days played, when you already can beat the best clan boss 2 key. And you realise you have no chance of some endgame content because you need pure Ancient pieces or whatever its called. Or awakened Legendaries that can take a year. But in Raid, there is so much to do. So many cool and unique champions with different abilities. Not just damage vs damage, but affinities, gear sets, SPEED TUNING. You can always improve and everything you do makes good progress. You dont need specific champions do clear some content, while in WoR you kinda need Hex, Silas or legencary Lords to beat some content. In Raid, you can have a team with 3 Gory, freeze the whole waive, do much damage and freeze the whole waive again. Reset with renegade next waive, and do it over again. That would be so much fun! Over 3 Bellowers in stun set with high Speed. Stun everything and eventually kill the waive. You can speed tune a Seer team, explode the whole waive and reset. In Arena there is So many fun strategies. Go second Cardinal, Stoneskin Hephrak, A1 Hegemon. There is SO much content. While in WoR it just depends on stats and champions. Thats it. The most interesting content in WoR is the campaign, where placement and removal matters so much.

The one thing I wish raid did better was give enough shards I save for weeks on raid to get about 15 ancient shards 2-3 void shards and maybe 1 primal and sacred compared to w.o.r where I’m doing over 100 summons every other week 90 rare (I don’t hoard gems) 10 or so ancient and a couple of legendary crystals getting a few Lego’s each time I just spend all night and morning doing the dungeon divers and artifact enhancement on raid and got two stinky pulls from the prism shards I’m yet to have a good pull from them in over a year
ASH I love ur content but at times your bias tendencies leak out .....the thumbs up is not to show what is best ..it's to show u where ur chances are best utilised remember u have little gold to utilise so the game will show u where best to upgrade ...80% is beta than that 20% chance ..right ????
Here's the biggest difference in the games that I can see. Raid is blatantly deceptive and shady. They wear it on their sleeves. They are openly greedy and stingy. The actual game itself is really good though. Watcher is a lot more of a friendly face. All the summons! All the rewards! You can see what's coming! More gear, more gold, more fun......but on the backend they are very deceptive. Rates are ALL rigged across the game. Gear stats, unit rates, artifact rates. Anything you are actively trying to get and acquire for power is heavily weighted against you. So the experience is a lot more friendly while the backend is like a carnival weighted against you to keep you from the the goal longer.
The free gear removal is a no go for me. Its makes the gear feel useless. I think Raid has a great system for gear. The paying players have no silver issues, the f2p have to be more strategic. I kind of like that my Arbiters gear is hers and not the community gear she is currently using.
Being playing WoR since its release and while I still enjoys it, it simply did not grow on me as much as RAID did. For me RAID, even tho I hate some things about it, is still the king.
