I definitely enjoyed this while I had it, and I'd wear it again. The newest Seamaster 300; however, just barely beat this one out for me, and I made the trade.
@@caseyzaft6734 I went with the black dial; however, as a disclaimer... I don't mean to nitpick terminology, but I got the Seamaster 300, not the 300m. Definitely two different things. I did a video review on that one as well on this same channel.
@@FirstBitewithDan black dial is the best option. I'll watch the vid on the 300, as I don't know much about that model. The wave dial and the non applied Omega logo on dial is a problem for me, the details...not to mention it doesn't have the coin edge like the PO but rather the scallpo bezel, which is different.
It’s beautiful and timeless I saw one in 2018 at a Chinese restaurant in Denver on a guys wrist and never forgot this watch was perfection in real like.
In 2008, in Kuwait City at the Perimeter Mall in an Omega Boutique, I got to wear the Omega P.O. and the Feel of that band/links was supremely smooth!! I’ve NEVER fel anything like it. Due to finances, I gave in & bought their Omega Seamaster 300 2254.50 & it’s worth every penny ~ but it falls short of the P.O.! Thx for your great review video - KUDOS…🇺🇸
David, the 2254.50 is in a league of its own! If I have the funds to purchase these great watches, the 2254.50 or at least the 2264.50 will definitely the first ones I'll get.
The Planet Ocean is of course the technological more advanced watch of those two but the 2254 is a legendary piece and has doubled in value since it has been discontinued. In 2009 I bought the midsize quartz model (2262) as a gift for my mother. Right next to it the AD had a 2254 and I was seriously thinking about that one as well but I didn't pull the trigger. A decision I regret to this day. The Seamaster since then is the only watch my mother wears and she got a ton of compliments on it.
Thanks for the presentation. You're right this PO is simply stunning I have the same version. My only comment is the bracelet clasp lacking micro adjustment, do you have any idea if a different Omega clasp with micro adjustment can be adapted ?
It might be possible, although I could not say for sure. My original plan with this watch was to fit it with a clasp (and bracelet as well, if I couldn't buy just a clasp) from a Generation II or Generation III version; however, I still don't actually know if those clasps have the micro adjustment as well. I ended up selling this watch to fund the purchase of the new Seamaster 300 which has a tapered bracelet and micro adjustment clasp, but that bracelet won't fit the watch in this review, as it's 21mm between the lugs, whereas the 45.5mm Planet Oceal is 22mm lug to lug.

Calling the actual Greek letter omega as "the Ohm symbol" is a bit like calling the letter "L" the liters symbol lol. I think it stands alone as it's own entity. Great watch. Thanks for the vid. It's my favorite thing I own. Big love from Detroit

I couldn't even say for sure, it's been awhile since I've priced them. Obviously if you're looking for a new Seamaster P.O. (Generation III) from an Authorized Dealer, you're looking at a considerably higher cost than the model shown here in this video.
Have the 8500 po in 42 mm same as in sky fall had 2 get the micro adjustable clasp from the new 8900 , Omega needs 2 shape up , was a total f on getting the right fit , Rolex do pip them at this ie Aqua Terra , ,, but love my po very good watch
I believe you can tell the difference between the C variant and the D variant by the date wheel. The number 1 on the date wheel is a single line and a D variant it is a hooked 1.
Interesting to note... I checked this on my watch. Whenever the number one is the only number on the date wheel (that is to say when the date wheel shows "1" or "11", the one has the hook on it. Any other time ("13", "21", etc.) the one is just a straight line with no hook.
I want to put a Planet Ocean bracelet on my Speedmaster. Do you have a Speedmaster? Can you test this out for me? I wonder if the spring bars will line up with the holes.

I should also note that the watch that I filmed in this video as well as the one I filmed in the next watch review I did after this video (Omega Seamaster 300 Generation II) are both fantastic. I'm an Omega fan and I couldn't say that one is better than the other; this will boil down purely to personal preference. Regardless of which one you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy it for quite a long time!
Considering buying this version of the PO, I understand there's a difference between the movement of the watch 2500c vs 2500d which is the latest version of this model and as far as I understand is better. What are the signs I need to look for to make sure it comes with that version of the movement
Hi Ron, I don't have 100% confirmation on this, but "APPARENTLY" the watches with serial numbers 8525xxxx and above are 2500D movements. However, just to be clear, both versions have the coaxial escapement. Some people have described the 2500D as being sort of a "transitional" movement as Omega worked towards the 8500 movement.
@@ron1355 Assuming that my findings regarding the serial # are correct (and only an assumption at this point, I haven't contacted Omega), then mine has the 2500c in it, not the newer movement.
@@ron1355 Thanks much! At this point I think I'm still keen on keeping it. I stumbled into a stellar deal on it a couple years ago and I haven't quite found anything yet worthy of swapping it for, especially given all the circumstances aside from just my personal enjoyment of the watch.
I don't have a "normal" camera, I do everything with my iPhone. I don't make money off of this, so I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money on fancy camera gear, I just like making videos.

The title says unboxing, that's a pretty good indicator that I'm going to go thru the entire kit and not just the watch, and do so in a little bit more depth than simply saying hi here's a watch and that's the end.
