Nasser If you like cartoons try to find the Beetle Juice cartoon to watch on your spare time it is really fun however do not see it as being a continuation of the film it is its own thing and I am glad you liked the film been my favourite since I was a kid and I was born in 2000 and I still hum the theme song and man Micheal Keaton was great as Beetle Juice.

I know you are a Tim Burton fan but he surrounds himself with a good team. The writers on this were fantastic. Screenplay: Michael McDowell, Larry Wilson, Warren Skaaren Michael McEachern McDowell (June 1, 1950 - December 27, 1999) was an American novelist and screenwriter described by author Stephen King as "the finest writer of paperback originals in America today".

The 80’s and 90’s were such good times for movies. They really stand the test of time! Even many of the effects, which were so basic compared to today, still hold up because they are just so visually unique.

They actually had a small budget, that's why Tim Burton chose to do "B" like movie props and set design .. MK made up most of his own lines.. This movie shows the ghosts as the good ppl and the living as the scary/bad ppl..

I remember the '90s cartoon series based on this (also by Tim Burton), where cartoon Lydia, who's still a teenager, summons cartoon Beetlejuice, who's still an ancient ghost in the form of a grotesque middle-aged man who eats bugs, to help solve her various high schooler problems and also go on adventures like all cartoon characters always do.

2:53 - "I really love Winona Ryder so much!" - Good on you, Nasser! The funny thing is, I was already into "Gothic" stuff long before this movie came out... but yeah, I had a crush on her for a while. ;) OH! Speaking of Winona Ryder.... if you can find it.... definitely watch "Welcome Home, Roxy Carmicle". She starred in that, again playing an "outcast"..... Honestly, I REALLY identified with her character in that movie, as well as this one. Edit: I remember when "Batman" came out in 1989.... the scene where Keaton faces the Joker in that chick's apartment.... grabs the fireplace poker, and yells "You wanna get nuts?! C'mon! Let's get nuts!" was 100% associated with his performance as Beetlejuice. I swear, the whole theater cheered at that moment! Because we ALL knew/associated that moment with this movie! (and yes, I saw Batman on it's opening weekend) Edit 2: 9:37 - Notice, Beetlejuice is dressed exactly like the husband was when he died.... these small details really show you the genius of Tim Burton! Also - Notice again..... the guy playing Otho, also played "Associate Bob" in Demolition Man. 12:35 - Great use of "Stop Motion" visual effects, is it not? Even by today's standards? Tell me, Nasser, since you freaked out about it... I honestly want to know your opinion. 13:07 - Yes, it is. And as someone who as gone "through with it".... I can empathize. Trust me, Suicide isn't all it's cracked up to be. 13:24 - "They're doing it all for the money? It just doesn't make any sense." - Hate to tell you this, Nasser(because you seem like a really level headed guy).... but yeah, that's the American Way.... and I say that AS an American. If it's not "profitable".... it's not an option. I suggest you watch this: ru-vid.com/group/PLs_5xG067eNZvfisy5-p-eVh2E7Ihs3E6 (It's a playlist of music videos I put together of the "Operation: Mindcrime" album by Queensryche. I know you don't do musical reactions, nor am I asking you to... but you really should watch the videos related to this album(even if just on your own time). It really speaks to the hypocrisy and corruption in today's America, despite having been made back in the late 1980s. 14:54 - "The Dowry's on me, Dad!" is a reference to how things were in "the REALLY old day's"... where the parents of the bride had to "pay" the parents of the husband" a "dowry"(fee) in order for the wedding to go forward. Pretty sick, if you think about it in today's society... having the parents of the female actually PAY for their daughter to get married(usually in a pre-arranged ceremony).... because the parents of the female would likely benefit from the "class standing" of the groom's parents. To put it simply, they literally sold their daughter into matrimonial slavery. 15:05 - LMAO! He is hundreds of years old... and yeah, she is but a teenager........ so yeah.... there is a MASSIVE age difference. While it's never stated in the movie, it is assumed that she is at least 18.... however, in the cartoon that followed this movie..... she was much younger. So yeah.... there was a HUGE legal issue... or would be, had people connected the two. 16:35 - Oh, yeah... Winona REALLY shone in this scene.... and to be honest, "Jump in the Line" is in a LOT of the playlists on my iPhone. That song just reminds me of this scene.... even more than the "Banana Boat" song from earlier in the movie. I just love that Jamaican vibe.

Another Tim Burton film I recommend is Ed Wood. Johnny Depp plays Ed, who was nominated as the Worst Director of All Time. His most famous film is Plan 9 From Outer Space. Ed Wood tells the story of the making of that film. I also recommend watching Plan 9 before Ed Wood so you will understand the events better. Ed Wood is Tim Burton’s love letter to bad b-movies and the directors who made them.

You seemed to get stuck on them touching people so they could feel the Maitlands as ghosts. The problem with that is when he was rushing past the other two up the stairs he never touched them. They felt air movement when he went by, that was all. My absolute FAVORITE part of this movie is BEH.... And you talked right through it and missed it!!!! NOW...you MUST go back and watch it, from the beginning of the scene where Otho brings them back. I have seen this movie so many times, if it's playing in another room I only need to hear a few seconds of it to know which movie is playing. And then I stop what I'm doing and watch it again. I compare every scary quirky movie to this one, I compare every Tim Burton movie to this one, I compare every scary quirky song to this soundtrack, and I compare every Danny Elfman song to this soundtrack. I fell in love with Tim Burton (and Danny Elfman) with this movie, but I did start with Tim Burton and Danny Elfman with "Pee-wee's Big Adventure". There's only four movies I watch again and again, this one, "The Wizard of Oz", "Bedazzled" and "The Money Pit". Not sure why, but those four are just so re-watchable to me.

I loved this on the theater and VHS and DVD and BluRay and Digital and just, you know, in general. Love it. Simple. Fun. And that's the word: FUN. I'd say Sweeny Todd and Sleepy Hollow should just go on your list. 😁

Great reaction. Might I humbly recommend Sweeney Todd (also a musical, with some great actors), and Sleepy Hollow (based on the story called, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Iriving. Great movies, great production, great actors, but most of all..... great source material. As a more creepy/crawly movie of Halloween, and it really could very easily be a story that could really happen,, I would definitely suggest Arachnophobia. It is an older movie (1990) starring Jeff Daniels, and it is super creepy.

If you want another classic Michael Keaton performance check out "Multiplicity". It takes a bit to get going, but Keaton gets to really shine in that movie.
