Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 was awesome, especially because of the living food thing but i guess you could say that Flint's machine caused a form of not just life but evolution as well.

Let's agree that the villain is more appealing and interesting than the one from the first movie - it makes more sense for Flint to trust his childhood idol and not see the obvious evil hints compared to someone who's treated him like dirt his entire life and then changes tone once he's done something good

While I see your point, you've got to understand that Flint had been mocked, rejected and put down his whole life, even by his own father, he's so desperate for approval that of course he's going to latch onto that person and follow what they say whether he necessarily agrees with them or not

You both have very good points but let's be honest. wethere flint was in need of approval or not the mayor was an idiot and wanted to be treated like a real man especially with the fact that he was the mayor of there town. He was as desperate for validation as flint was the only difference was the type of validation. He wanted to be respected

Interesting point, but I gotta address the problem with Chester V. One problem is more of a opinion-related thing where he’s a twist villain, but rather than using the opportunity to get some audiences to gasp, they just pretty much said within 20 minutes: “Yeah he’s the bad guy”. I just hate twist villains who are addressed straight away or are really executed really badly….. *cough* Disney. Another thing that doesn’t make Chester V as memorable is his “villainy” Mayor Shelborne from the first basically manipulated people and when started to manipulate flint, he ended up pushing the machine’s limits even further to cause a weather disaster and soon after: a worldwide food storm which would’ve pretty much plumped earth i to permanent darkness and huge “food dump”. He also attempted murder (which Chester V tried also. But if you compared crimes between the mayor and Chester, the only real crime you can really pin Chester V is attempted murder. And Chester V’s villainy wasn’t different at all, still the same annoying and obnoxious person from when he wasn’t “being evil” Mayor Shelborne went through an entire change when he got the deal and he got extremely fat when his greed got the best of him.

This movie was definitely a lot darker than what I remembered because of the villain's intentions. I know it's a fictional story, but animals are actually treated like that in real life--like that one episode of Appa in Avatar: The Last Airbender--so to see them treated like that for a stupid product is just heartbreaking to say the least. I don't know, maybe I'm over-thinking it, but it's still sick to say the least. Also, the first movie is better, but this one is still a lot of fun, and has some funny moments as well.

Flint: “This is…” Steve: “BANANAS!” 🍌🍌🍌 Queue the Gwen Stefani! Honestly this movie is as good if not better than the first one cause the creativity that went into the ecosystem and puns for the animals like “flamangos” “Shrimpanze” “hippotatoamous”, etc, was too beautiful. And Officer Carl’s relationship with Flint has evolved so much since he had anime eyes when he saw Flint cause he genuinely missed him. And I honestly cannot say the name “Steve” normally. I have to say it in just like the monkey does: STTEEEEVE

49:07 this movie reminds me of up, when Carl’s favorite co pilot turns out evil the same way as flint Lockwood childhood scientist 👨🏻‍🔬 during the second movie of my own comparison. 50:40 fun fact: Terry crews voiced officer Carl as the replacement of mr t. 51:25 that’s what I liked about the second movie more than the first movie, since flint Lockwood has a second chance to spend time with his dad more than science 🧪 projects.

I just noticed how when the helicopter first takes off and leaves, the shot cuts just before it rotates enough for Live to spell out Evil on the bottom of the helicopter

I mainly enjoy this movie for the food puns. They may be silly but I enjoy the. By far the one I quote the most and still laugh at today is Flint: There's a leek in the boat! Leek in the Boat: Ahhhhhh! That and the butter frogs that just go "Butterrrrrr" And I agree so much the visuals were gorious and also agreed on the score from the original. I get where ya coming from thougu and I understand the points because I do agree with them.

I love these movies! They’re so fun 😄. If you want to see more classic animated films, I recommend The Last Unicorn and The Swan Princess. Don’t forget the rest of Don Bluth’s films!

Awesome suggestions, I second these! I'll add two for consideration: Fluke (1995) and Napoleon (also 1995). Both are very sweet/touching live action movies about dogs but are very different narratively. Both were constant rewatches for me growing up and I've never heard anyone else talk about them much less watch/react. Napoleon is very much a lighthearted kid's movie but Fluke is a more serious/bittersweet whole-family movie that still gets to me as an adult.

I think this movie is better in regards to visuals, but not in story. The first movie was much better because it made a lot more logical sense. They also made up an actual reason why the food was made in the first place, but this time they said the machine reprogrammed itself and didn't touch that subject again which I thought was a little lazy. Even so, the concept of someone else wanting the power to make food and use it for themselves works really well and does make sense in that regard. I love both these movies.

Evil Corporations are always Apple Parodies >< Just like the first, the movie is very silly but they really went hard on making wonderful visuals and audios, im glad you enjoyed it and I'd recommend more from the same writers, they did the lego movie and the mitchells vs the machines too I think you'd enjoy mitchells vs machines a lot Father issues is a running motif in all their films

I know I comment on this sort of thing a lot, but it's always nice to see that there are still people out there who are able to look past the visual gags and cartoony art style and actually pay attention to the story. Again, whenever I hear people trash these films, it's always just because there's over-the-top humor and a cartoony art style. None of these people seem to actually pay attention to the plot at all, except when Earl's on-screen because he's the only character they actually care about. Sam's arc in the first film... according to detractors of the film, it never happened. She's just obnoxious. It's not like that's an act for when she's not being true to herself. What back story explaining her behavior? There's no back story explaining her behaviour. If you seriously claim there is one, you're fooling yourself. Brent's entire identity crisis? He's dressed as a chicken at the end, so he clearly didn't learn anything. Again, really nice to see more people notice this stuff.

I wanna reccomend Blades of Glory for a funny comedy its basically rival Figure Skaters get banned by the Skating Association and thus they have to skate together and learn to be a team and not two "lone wolves".
