That's my biggest pet peeve in these types of "what if these famous characters had kids" stories. Where characters are just completely centered around their parents to the point where it's weird

I've always described it as "everyone introducing themselves like they're OCs from a bad Percy Jackson fanfic".

I agree, it would have made more sense to just make the point that any villain whose defeated or killed gets resurrected/banished to the island where their powers can’t work inside the magical barrier. rather than make it a thing the heroes created to punish them more.

Maybe it was for some final fantasy ass reason. Like, the heroes being too good at their job caused an imbalance of light and dark so they had to bring all the shitty people back to life and essentially empty out Tartarus to restore balance. Because that’s what is basically insinuated, they emptied out hell, tartarus’ doors rattled in the win and they forced everyone to a life of tedium and boredom. Either that or having all the worst people in the world in one place with an all powerful god wasn’t a good idea.

@@JB6GD684 that could be true, but then why not just kill them all instead of sending their garbage to the island for the villains to eat- like wtf That’s also another thing in the book- they literally send their rotten food to the island.

@@serperiorandtheanimator9216 it is basically Arkham city but worse. And killing all of the villains now that you have them all in one place, leaving only the ‘good people’ is bound to cause some kind of imbalance. Also, people in Auradon aren’t all good, they have bullies and discrimination and rich assholes. I think if Disney were assed to put some deeper meaning into this series I think it would be this. Who you are is not determined by those who came before you, you are your own person and you need not pay for the sins of your forbearers. 1st movie was about the people on the continent trying to get accustomed to people they’ve stereotyped as evil, and the people from the isle caught in a struggle between sticking to their assigned stereotype or to break free of the mold they were forced to fit. 3rd movie was a wake up call to the powers that be, you had a character who throughout the 1st movie had been nothing but a jerk and yet was deemed to be a good person turn straight evil whether that be by outside corruption or inner hatred. At the end of the movie Hades points out that if one of the people of Auradon were to do something wrong they could be easily forgiven, but if a villain were to do the same thing they’d be locked away or killed. As for the 2nd movie it’s hard to say, Mal is growing bored of her life possibly due to tedium, stress and not being able to adjust to her new privileged status whilst her friends have been doing well, meanwhile the people left on the isle are pissed that no one else was being brought out after the core 4 so when Ben shows up they plan to hold him as ransom and break out. And then eventually when Mal heads on back to their party, Ben’s been drugged there’s this big squid person vs dragon fight and they just let the villain go away. So maybe it’s trying to say, be thankful for your privilege because there are people who would do anything to be where you are. Just be fucking grateful for what you have? Idk. I’m not a very good film student

I loved Aaron Stone when I was younger! I feel like all of the TV shows that I loved when I was younger (Aaron Stone, Tower Prep, Unnatural History) have faded into oblivion and obscurity. I think you're the first person I've ever heard mention it.

@@rachelfremeau6830 if I remember what unnatural history is I know why that’s forgotten since it’s like the bottom behind like Andrew W.k. The rest seem strange since Aaron stone came out around the start of Disney xd with like Zeke and Lex Luthor and tower prep was a Nick thing right?

@@creed8712 Tower Prep and Unnatural History were both Cartoon Network shows that aired during their brief foray into live action around 2010. Neither were renewed for second seasons because they weren't popular with CN's target audience but I loved them so much as a child. The creator of Tower Prep, Paul Dini (who did many great DC comics shows like Batman: The Animated Series), said that the reason it was canceled was because the show was more popular with girls then boys so executives thought it wouldn't sell merchandise. 🥲

@@fluffyhales I know, they lean into the absurdity a lot more. If I'm being honest the acting got better too.

They didn't need saved they just needed to be given a chance. People are not born guilty of their parents crimes is a big lesson in the movie.
