Exactly. I can say this since she's seen this episode, but in her reaction to the first episode she comments about her desire to see the Doctor's planet and then one of the comments decided to put. "Well, about that..." Were they that stupid that they seriously didn't know what that means? Anyone with a brain would know that's basically saying they can't and may even allude to it being no more...something which the show doesn't reveal until this episode. Notice how I'm not saying the name of the planet. The name isn't exactly a spoiler, but the show hasn't name-dropped it yet. Then again, I just know some commenters are going to mention it since apparently it's common knowledge. I won't be too angry with that, but there's something else in the show that's considered common knowledge that I'd hate for her to be spoiled on

Yep- people don't realize even things they think are harmless can spoil things. Repeating words and phrases for example. They may not be a direct spoiler of much but when the reactor hears them in the show they can often realize that certain characters, villains, plot points, etc are important, recurring, etc. It's really not that hard to just not reference things that haven't happened yet

I don't understand why they do it, like Darcie said in this, we're watching her find out about this show that we all fell in love with, we subbed to watch her fall in love and get excited the way all did with Dr Who, I fell in love with the show in 1972.

always the biggest torture, when watching a new Whovian, is not to spoil anything from the roundabout 40 years of watching Doctor Who....

this fandom more than most should know to properly respect spoilers and personally I would never try to ruin the river ride that is Doctor Who you need to listen to the song to appreciate the chorus.

Anyway… It’s also the companions, if Darcie doesn’t know the Doctor regenerates, she won’t know about the companion changes until season 3, and likely won’t know how regular they are till season 4. A specific example here, “You are going to love so-and-so later” should obviously be seen as a spoiler. Even saying a person is your favourite companion when they have only made a one off appearance (you know who I’m talking about) are spoiler heavy, because how can a person be a favourite companion in a 13 season run when they have only been in one episode? Especially when that character doesn’t really deserve such praise from their one appearance. Both of these comments were made in Funnylilgals Patreon in separate comment sections, so now she already knows who’s coming back, and she’s barely begun season 3.

None of these actors shocked me as much as ___ did. Watching her role in the ___ and ___ eras and then later hearing her voice whilst playing Xenoblade Chronicles was such a surprise!

They've had well-known actors since the Hartnell era. Just not many who are well known in 2024.

Fortunately over the decades quite a few of the missing episodes have been found in out of the way places eg foreign countries where episodes were shown. However 97 episodes still remain missing. That may sound like a lot are missing but there were 695 classic series episodes broadcast up until the show was suspended in 1989. Audio recordings for all of the still missing episodes though are available so the BBC have been able to recreate some of the missing episodes as animated episodes with the original audio and hopefully will continue to do that. In the last few years there have been reports that some of the missing episodes survive in private collections but that the owners are reluctant to hand them over - hopefully some sort of deal can be struck to get them back.

However don't start watching Torchwood until you get to the start of series 2 of Dr Who since watching Torchwood before that will provide spoilers for Dr Who.

As she's said she's using a moderator, that will hopefully avoid the issue. That said, I've found as someone who moderates for a couple of other reactors that the tools provided by RU-vid are utterly pathetic, so I hope they have a good process worked out!

I'm a bit behind on funnylilgal, and only watch on RU-vid. Does she mention this spolier in a video? If not, could you perhaps by way of episode number or airdate or an actor in the episode, something that tells us what the BLANK BLANK is?
