I don't get why some would say you shouldn't watch family-friendly films, that's a completely legitimate genre and has some of the most amazing films out there If you haven't watched any Ghibli films I highly, highly recommend that
@@heyitsmira17 I love that one too, and not enough people like it. I was almost brought to tears. There is a bit of a cultural barrier with the girls' affectionate behaviour, as that's much more normal in Japan, but it's still a great movie. Still, even the book, which isn't Japanese, has those things, too. Marnie often addresses Anna as "Darling Anna", and they both say they love each other. The easy affection makes more sense with the ending, though. And then there's all the other Ghibli movies that can't be ignored...
Was this the first self aware Disney movie that pokes fun at itself in a non-cynical way that also includes cameos and references from previous animated films? It’s the first one I can think of.
Most people don't know Giselle was going to be a Disney Princess, but Disney decided against it because Giselle's appearence was based on Amy Adams, meaning they'd have to pay her royalties.

Say What!? I thought it was Prince Edward the whole time. I’m 20, and have seen this movie a lot, and I now find out that the mannequin is actually suppose to be Robert!? That is some great foreshadowing there though.
RE: Amy Adams... This was one of her first breakout roles. Oftentimes, actresses who portray this type of role get type-casted and have a hard time breaking out into more dramatic roles. Obviously, she (much like Anne Hathaway from Princess Diaries) was able to break out into impressive career-defining dramatic roles.
Actresses who potray princesses aren't the ones getting typecasted lmfao. That's more of a funny fat friend, nerd, serious business person or /hot girl thing. There aren't enough princess movies for this to make sense to typecast of off.

What I love about your videos is just how real you are - I hate the reaction channels where the people are fake as a three-dollar bill, even on down to the hyperbole of their mugging thumbnails. 10 minutes into the movie and I was sorely tempted to leave the theater. Gave it another 20 minutes and that song where she cleans the apartment with New York’s wildlife helped change my mind. That twist with the cockroaches!😳

I'd say the breakout role for Amy Adams was in "Junebug" in which she was nominated for an Academy Award, but her role in "Enchanted" did lead to pop stardom. I saw "Enchanted" with my wife at the theater, and we loved it. Great job as usual, Nick.
I'm 33 and I love watching Disney movies myself =) No shame! And Disney is its own genre in my opinion. It's "allowed" to be predictable and can still be fabulous and wonderful and just a pleasant experience.

And this was an homage to all the old classic Disney films with bits from Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty. No need to apologise for liking this type of movie. This came out when I was 42 - and I bl@%dy love it! I adore movie musicals and this is a really clever riff on the Disney animated "Princess" movies. Patrick Dempsey was at the height of his *Grey's Anatomy* "McDreamy" fame when this was released. I hope you watch some old school musicals from Hollywood's Golden Age - I recommend as a starting point: Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers in *Top Hat* & *Swing Time* Astaire & Judy Garland in *Easter Parade* Garland in *Meet me in St. Louis* Gene Kelly, Debbie Fisher & Donald O'Connor in *Singin' in the Rain* Jane Powell & Howard Keel in *Seven Brides for Seven Brothers*
The best part is when Richard in the beginning says he doesn’t sing or dance. When he dances with Giselle at the ballroom scene, you can see Richard dancing, but he also sings along at one point!
I just wish Narissa was more in as human. Susan saradon did such amazing job as a villain. Thats good to see you enjoying another family movie all smilling and laughing
something i just LOVE about this movie is that they really wanted to make an stereotipe of fairy tale so they could make an entire new idea out of it, the princess has many animal friends, she's suddently in danger, the prince of her dreams save her and the queen wants to kill her, basically. So is not just the snow white plot they take, they kinda put many fairy tales together in one, like the dragon, this is from sleeping beauty.
"Why does it matter if she says it's okay?" Because Robert is in a committed relationship with Nancy, and even though he's in love with Giselle, he should care about her feelings and take them into account. Yes, it's a life or death situation, and that should take priority, but her giving him consent is a HUGE character moment for both of them. If she hadn't done that, Nancy would have been nothing but the jealous ex who was being unreasonable about her boyfriend leaving her for another woman when she did nothing to deserve it, and she deserves better treatment than that. And if she didn't consent and Robert kissed Giselle without even thinking of her, then Robert doesn't deserve Giselle.
YES! Finally someone who knows my pain! Robert and Nancy were still in a relationship during the ball and Robert had the nerve to even refuse to call Nancy his girlfriend because he fell in love with someone else? That's just disrespecting someone who's been with you for five years. This is one of the reasons why I didn't like this film as much as I did when I first saw it, whenI was a kid who didn't understand what was going on. Nancy deserved better than this.

Hey, sir! You want to see Les Miserables? That rocks! May I make a suggestion of another musical you might find cool? It's on Disney+ right now. Maybe more of a personal viewing, since it's not going to sugarcoat the finer details of his actions or upbringing, though. However, it has sparked a long-dormant interest in US history. It is called Hamilton. It's really quite an adventure through the earliest days of our country, and whenever I would start getting a headache from the intensity of the conflicts and trying to keep up, I could always count on King George to come make me laugh as he sang and "danced," spitting on himself all the while.
My favorite subtle detail is that at the ball everyone is super dressed up to look like a fairytale character and then Giselle is dressed more modern to show she’s assimilated into their world
One of the best jokes (in my opinion) that didn't make it in the reaction video, was when prince Edward was going door to door, a mom opens it and says "you're too late" 🤣
Once when my friend came over, we were looking for a movie to watch and she asked the movie in which I always sing the songs of - Enchanted. My whole 7 member family including two of my guy friends gathered to watch it and LOVED IT!!! It was so funny to see their reaction to everything. The Fam approves!
Not gonna lie, I feel so bad for Nancy that I felt vindictive for her in the end. She's in a relationship with Robert for 5 freaking years to the point that he was planning to propose to her, and you can't say that she's not nice since she tried to bond with Morgan and was understanding when Robert said they can't spend the night together because of his daughter. Then a stranger shows up and all of it went down the drain. You can say 'But Nancy got married to Edward and she likes romantic things!' but it felt so wrong and a cheap cop-out just so everyone (other than Nerissa) can have their happy ending.
It's supposed to show that they weren't actually supposed to be together. It probably would have ended in a divorce down the line, which would have been even more emotionally painful for Robert and Morgan, after Morgan's mother left. I liked Nancy, though, so I hope the sequel shows her and Edward being happy together.
@@lindseysquire8417 Still, I feel more empathic to her than anyone else in the film, considering Robert won't even call Nancy his girlfriend even when they were still in the relationship. He should've at the very least told Nancy about second guessing their status rather than leading her on. As a person who had been cheated on, that shit sucks.
