everyone’s relation with Rachel is complicated, sometimes you love her, sometimes you wanna punch her in the face. But I really like her as a character and you cannot deny that she is insanely talented...
I think when he said "the blackest thing I've ever done" it was meant as like "the darkest" but it was just ... VERY poorly phrased. Also, totally agree about Finn being an average singer, idk everyone was acting like he was some gift of god lmao (he improves immensely over the seasons though! compare season 1 finn to season 3/4 Finn and it's like WOW what a difference)
That was part of the joke they are in Lima Ohio they are behind the times. Glee is a dark comedy it is not to taken to seriously It is set in an heighten sense of reality.
I'm interested in the musicals you have watched already, or if you would consider watching/listening to an entirely sung-through musical. In terms of Glee, Rachel Berry, I think, is supposed to be an insufferable character but because she's really talented and because the show is built around her, it is kind of one of those things where most people don't like her but you learn to tolerate her imo I will not comment on finding Will Schuester attractive lmao And, you are right. The actor who plays Finn (Cory Monteith) died in 2013, right before filming for their fifth season. His singing voice has been the subject of much debate but I think definitely improves as the show continues. But, I do think he is the best vocal match for Rachel currently.
Rachel is a great character she is supposed to be OTT. She lives her life as if she were on a stage. That is part of the fun. They are all flawed, they all make mistakes, and they all learn.
you're literally supposed to love/hate every characters! they're all annoying at one point, and it's normal, but you will also love them at some point! that's like the magic of the show imo! they are really real characters, with real life struggles and they all have a lot of growth during the entire series. even my faves characters at some point i was annoyed with them, and if you say your fav was never annoying, then you're probably lying lol i love how real glee is, i watched it when i was in my teenage years and it helped me so much to understand the world i was living in, even if some of the storyline are really weirdly written. it taught me a lot about life, people, acceptance, with myself but also with others and the songs are fire! it's really a fun show when you don't take it too seriously.

i never wanted to watch glee for a while but until my best friend really made me watch it. and i'm almost done with season 1 after starting it last week and i'm liking it so far.
I don’t think you’re supposed to like Rachel. while she is the main character, she is written to be very unlikeable at times. If you understand that that is just the way she’s written, then you’ll definitely enjoy her character more. also she does have a lot of good moments in my opinion.

i feel like fox has relaxed a tbit about their copyright claims on glee. it used to be you couldn't even keep a flipped, cropped, slightly pitch changed version up for more than a few days before it got claimed, even a few years after original airing, but now i see whole ass lists of songs and higher quality clips way more often. for literally a few seconds of songs WITH you talking a bit during them, i feel like you have a decent chance fyi

You should watch Jagged Little Pill the musical! It has super heavy content but it’s kind of a “jukebox” musical (I think that’s the term) so it’s well known songs, not random songs they wrote for the show :)
I think by blackest moment he meant like “black out” moment at least that’s always how I interpreted it but this is the first time I actually interpreted it as a race thing and wouldn’t be surprised bc the writers and mr schue are problematic af
i just realised this but throughout the show finn is not know for his voice but more his leadership which is questionable at times. like mercedes,rachel,kurt,blaine.and jesse have all been know for their voices in the show they are always complimented on their voices. but with finn is always oh he was a good leader, friend etc and how bad of a dancer he is but never oh he was a good singer

Yes, the show is trying to get you to love Rachel like she´s flawed but lovable but she only becomes consistently and progressively more and more annoying. While the others have some moments the balance is never found. For every song any of them sings, Rachel sings 3. I see a lot og her fans here already trying to defend her but you´ll get to hate her more. I just ended up skipping all of her songs and scenes but the show figured it out and started giving her duets with the more popular.
