Fun/random fact Auliʻi Cravalho who plays Janis in this voiced Moana in Moana and Reneé Rapp played Regina George on broadway! Their singing voices are amazing! Also this might just be my opinion but nothing will top the original mean girls movie. This movie is okay I like it but I think that’s just because I’m watching y’all react to it lol. Love the collab! Would love to see more collabs with y’all like maybe the original mean girls! Love the videos! You do an amazing job!

I don’t like how some fans of the original take this as competition or something, like the original is not going to disappear or be forbidden 🙄, this was definitely meant as a homage in some aspects, addressing the memes (like the Glen Coco scene), so why can’t we just enjoy it as part of the Mean Girls universe? I mean I get the criticism about the songs, some of the actors and how they changed the plot, but is someone’s only issue is that it’s a remake then I don’t get it. I’m just going to focus in how much more diverse this version is, and how they fixed the (unintentional) queerbaiting done with Janis in the original.

The stage version is soooo much better it makes me sad. But Renee was great. 😂 For Reference - Erika Henningsen - I.E. Charlie Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel was the original Cady on Broadway. And then they made all her songs in this movie the most unenthusiastic things you've ever heard.

I saw this movie on me and my sister birthday. 2 months ago. When Me and My aunt Saw Linsey Lohan on the Screen. We were so excited. The actress who Played Caty. She Played Betty Brant in the holland Spiderman movies and A young Stephanie in a Rachel Wilson Movie “Senior Year” coincidently The Actress Who Played Karen. Was also in that movie. 3:02 The French teacher was in A musical Of mean girls. Tim Meadows, and Tina Fey returned to reprise their roles from the 2004 version. 3:59 I Wish We heard Karen and Gretchen Sing. John Ham Plays The Gym Teacher Which he also plays A character in the minions movie. 5:40 I saw half of Love Simon on Valentine’s Day. In which I came out to my family. And Then 2 days later I restarted the movie. And Watched it full. 5:42 I had This song and “Sexy” Replayed for a few days after. 10:04 In The Original It was “Rosa Parks” but since Karen is now a woman of color. They changed it to “Joan of Arc”. I saw a Pg-13 Version of Mean Girl in October. At my high school and My younger brother to it. And when my sister saw this movie she was sad that she didn’t see the Play. 11:51 I never thought That I would hear Auli’l Cravalho Cursing. Cause she voiced Moana in The titular Movie. PLEASE REACT TO "SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON"! It's a story about a strong, beautiful horse with a spirit that can never be broken. I cry every time i watch it! It's a INCREDIBLE film, and the songs are so cool! But it's not a musical and the animals can't talk. 😭💔🔥

The orignal 2004 movie and this one is based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, a non-fiction parental self-help guide. This one is also based on the Broadway musical adaptation of the original. The movie's marketing never really stated that it is based on the Broadway version, which resulted in a large amount of the audience being unaware of its musical aspect and some were not pleased. I honestly am not very familiar with the main cast except for Tina Fey and Tim Meadows (Mr. Duvall) obviously, along with Auli'i Cravalho (Janis) who voiced Moana. I've seen Reneé Rapp's name but haven't really listened to her music. I do know, however, that she portrayed Regina in the Broadway musical for a while (also, Ashley Park who plays the French teacher originated the role of Gretchen in the musical). Reneé has an amazingly powerful voice and I think she did a great job. The character felt more evil and manipulative in this one while Rachel McAdams' version was more mean and fake, if that makes sense. But I can't even imagine having to live up to that iconic performance. Or Lindsay Lohan's for that matter. Angourie Rice was okay as Cady and I like her soft voice but she was kind of bland and I didn't find her very believable as the bitchy Cady, especially because it happened so sudden. Auli's as Janis, Jaquel as Damian and Avantika as Karen were incredible (though Janis as a character wasn't as strong or likable in my opinion). I didn't really feel much with the actress portraying Gretchen or the actor portraying Aaron though. I don't know what it is, I just like them better in the original. I also felt no chemistry between Aaron & Regina or Aaron & Cady. I felt more chemistry between Regina & Cady (which makes sense since Reneé played her as being a lesbian and flirting with Cady) and even Cady & Janis. I like that they kept a lot of the iconic lines but some of them don't hit as hard and I still miss a few iconic lines like "If you're from Africa why are you white?", "Oh my God, Karen you can't just ask people why they're white" and "Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimised by Regina George". A lot of it was changed to be more politically correct which I usually don't have a problem with but it felt odd to cut some of the slurs & insults and just add others instead, like the line about Karen having had sex with 11 people. I think overall they did a good job at keeping it similar but not the exact same. Now, I haven't seen the musical so I don't know if some of it is taken from that (except for the songs). I think Janis and Damian are supposed to be narrating and they consistently break the 4th wall in the movie. I personally love when movies and shows are self-aware like that. But I can see how some people don't like how they shot the musical performances since it was more like different music videos than a musical. Fun facts: Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay, invented the slang term "fetch". She didn't want to use an expression teenagers actually use because she didn't want it to become outdated later. Gretchen's "I got it from an old movie" is a reference to the original, which having been released 20 years earlier, could now be considered an "old movie". The movie that she thinks it might be from, Juno, was released in 2007 and often criticised for its excessive use of completely made-up slang. Also, Glen Coco is an actual person and a good friend of Tina. There are several costume references to the original; like Cady's revenge party outfit, Ms. Norbury's polka dot shirt and Mr. Duvall's sweater vest. Mr. Duvall is also seen wearing a cast throughout the movie as a joke, since in the original he had it in the second part of the movie because Tim Meadows had broken his hand prior to filming. While Karen is looking through outfits for the Halloween party, there is a brief shot of the white tank top and purple bra outfit with the holes that Regina made trendy. Regina's mum also wears a pink tracksuit. Regina wore a t-shirt with the phrase "A little bit dramatic" and in this she has the word "dramatic" printed in bold letters in her room. Also, when Gretchen and Cady are in Regina's closet and Gretchen is singing, she holds a light pink jacket similar to the one Regina wore when she came to Cady's party in the original. Other little details are Regina, Cady and Karen wearing necklaces with their initials (including the backward "K" necklace) and Mr. Duvall having a framed photo of him from the original in his office. If you pause on Gretchen's playlist, you can see that the song playing is by the actress herself, Bebe Wood, called Thieving Dreams. There are also the playlists "HELP CADY BE NORMAL", "SQUATS AND ABS Workout", "Songs Regina hates", "Broadway Karaoke", "Ariana Grande Hanukkah", "This is Lea Michele", "Songs Regina likes" and "Cuban Jazz para Abuela". When the plastics are performing at the talent show and Damian says "Thank you, next" is a reference to Ariana Grande's song of the same name in which the music video was partially inspired by the original movie (and references that scene in particular). The outfits were also more influenced by the video than the original movie. The Mathlete moderator (played by Lindsay Lohan) says that there has been a tie only once before, a clear reference to when Cady broke the tie in the original movie.

I saw this in theaters back in January and I thought it was fine. Nothing terrible but if I were to pick which one I'd want to watch again, I'd pick the original, even though I've admittedly only seen it once and that was last year 😂.
