Fire took over my 2017 Ford Mustang GT350 a few weeks back at the FIRM. Definitely not a fun situation, but we're going to try to make the best of it. LZMFG.com
Yeah before he even said that I was hoping he’s either gonna make it a drift car or a track race car. I hope he swaps in a crate engine from the 2020 GT500
Super glad you, Collette, and everyone else involved are okay, sucks about the car but at least it wasn’t the 6.5 and aside from the amount of money it can technically be easily replaced. Just trying to look at the bright side I guess. Stay safe El Zed ✌️
Absolutely not. Built engine from roush Yates or just build the voodoo. Buy an ecoboost to put that crap in. Don’t ruin a gt350. Burnt or not it can be restored and is a limited production car
6RIE he’s clearly joking... and the joke to most normal Emoji literate human beings could tell he’s not seriously accusing her of destroying the car 🙄🙄
@@mikek5298 The hood isnt really a big deal, probably worth the time saved. It just looks so sad lol. And the car ain't all burned up, looks like they've already got it repainted!
Yeah that might be true. But GM has been doing it for years. They just dress it up with a transformer tailgate now to make people not think about it lol.
It does if you buy track insurance. Regular insurance won't cover it. It's stupid to drive on a track without insurance unless you have a cheap beat up car.
@@3644Darrell You need to do some more research on insurance buddy. "Going around a track" is different then "racing cars around a track". Just like if I go drag racing......if I just "go for a fast time" and blow my motor....Ford will replace under warranty. If I'm "racing in an event against a car in the other lane".....I'm screwed. Same here. "Going around the track" is simply driving a car on a road with no speed limit.....you will be covered. Now, if that accident happens when you are involved in a 20 car race.....then it won't be. Now, will your rate be the same after the insurance covers your car.........NO!!!!!! GET READY FOR "NEW INSURANCE QUOTE SHOCK".
As someone who'se actually had their car burn down, I understand 100% what you mean. I didnt freak out at all or anything, I was really bummed out for a few weeks, and this car in particular meant a lot to me and I had put a lot of work into. If it were my daily or something I wouldnt have been as bummed, and I think that's sort of where you were at. Insurance paid me more than I paid for the car in my case so I got a new one pretty easily.
Just from the small amount of driving you can see how much experience she has and the fact that she wasn't going hard. Glad everyone is ok you can replace a car you can't replace a life, 100% not her fault.
coming back to this vid after a few years, its crazy to think this is where this cars V8 life ended and where its new life started just like a phoenix burning as its life ends and from the ashes it sets anew 😊😊
Look at Adam teasing him dating collett and his insta story says we have big news and a picture of them two 😂even Adams dropping hints to the two dating
Hey Adam, panel beater and certified automotive welder. Depending on the heat there was in the engine bay there is a real chance all the structural strength of the front end is gone. Time for a tube front🤣
It depends. As long as the heat wasn't so severe as to burst the seams that are spot welded, it can just be made rigid again by stitch welding the seams in the front end.
Shona this is untrue. The heat will literally take the strength of the metal away. The metallurgy of the metal will not be the same. Its most likely lost all of its structural integrity. Icar certified collision tech here btw.
Structural metal pieces like frames and such almost always have some sort of heat treatment in them that makes them stronger. Once this metal is put through high temperatures, it will lose all of the advantages of the heat treatment and becoming soft again. Hopefully it wasn't too severe and the frame is salvageable!
@@ced507 Also depends on the metal and the strength of the fire. If it was hot enough and sprayed well enough you could find some things extremely brittle, which is MORE dangerous than simply being softened. Difference between discovering the car won't hold an alignment worth a damn (and potentially could kill you in a crash), and finding out about embrittled components when they suddenly snap under load.
@@mfree80286 very true! Doesn't seem like the fire got too crazy, but you never really know in these situations. I'm sure their mechanics have faced some sort of a similar situation before and have a plan for the car, after all Alberto and (can't remember the name of the other guy) are both really good at what they do! Hopefully they go tube front end hahah👍
If you guys ever need to put a out a fir with an extinguisher you want to surround the flames try to Herd the flames like cattle/cows if make a corral with the extinguisher and just keep covering the bottom and edges of the flames
This just happened to my 2007 mustang a couple days ago… I installed a high power alternator and a few days after I woke up to the engine bay burning to the ground… really sad because I’ve put 25 grand (including 10 to pay it off) into my very first legal car… my dream car… and then in a few minutes it was nothing. I’m trying to figure out if I can save the body of the car and put something else in it hoonigan style… but it’s just so discouraging. Watching this made me feel a lot better about my situation and I’m hoping pushing forward and have it work out 🥲
L00000000000000000000000000000L THE WHOLE FUCKING SCENE IS GOLD I KNOW I SHOULDNT BE LAUGHING AT THE SITUATION BUT DAMN ITS LITERALLY LIKE F&F 1 WHERE THE CIVICS SPIN OUT AND LETTY IS STUCK ON THE TRUCK AND THE SUPRA FLIES BY I S2G
Saw the notification for this and my heart dropped😧 *edit: Glad Collette is okay from this and that it wasn’t worse than it was. Shame that a great car has come down to this circumstance, but I have faith that if you’re keeping it, something good will come of this. Did someone say Barra time?👀 *extra edit: as soon as the fingerprints were spoke about, the Porsche video sprung to mind soo quick😂
I don't really understand that too, the car could've had a ruptured fuel pump or something like that, if the car "exploded" (due to fuel spoil it would burn the entire car) she wouldn't have escaped like she did
I’m not sure about this track, but I know that on the Nurburgring you are supposed to stay in the car if there is a malfunction unless you absolutely need to leave for safety reasons. She might have not known if the car was going to keep burning or maybe she was just in shock. If you do see your car smoking, gtfo.
Holy Crap, He set her up. He had the entire story already written. No remorse whatsoever. Knew exactly what the problem was why didn't he take the preventative measures for it not to happen. I would never send anyone I love into a vehicle that it would most likely catch on fire if the problem wasn't fixed. Its either pure negligence or insurance fraud.
@@MrDanberube yea, because a man worth more than 500k needs a few grand from insurance... He took the car to a dealer so it would be torqued to spec and he thought they did it right and was letting collete enjoy the cae
@@hunter4036 would you let someone you love race a car that was known to you the last time you raced it the brakes failed because of an issue you just had fixed and was known it was defective? If i personally had as many cars as he did i would say you know what, I'll try this car out for at least a couple race days to know it's safe. Just my opinion.
Dear ford haters, They are amazing vehicles. This is no ones fault. No car or driver could’ve prevented that. Things happen when it’s hot outside and your having fun with any car or any driver
At low temperatures e85 is more flammable than 91. At normal temps 91 is slightly more than e85. You gotta remember e85 is a alcohol, which is heaps harder to see than a petroleum flame.
24:45 “it wasn’t intense, it didn’t blow into the cabin or anything” This didn’t age well did it 😂 glad you’ve got out both times unscathed tho Collette ! ❤
Seems like it’s the week for burning cars ay😅 glad Colette, yourself and everyone else is Safe man. I know there’s a possibility of potentially putting a Barra 4L 6t in it... 😉 If you need any help Aus side for new engine parts, I have a lot of brands I personally work with I can get in contact with as I have my own over here at 600hp on a stock block, let me know brother more than happy ✌️
Car fires are no joke, so glad it went the way it did! The GT350 is such a great sounding and going car, really too bad it had to partly go down in flames. I'd take that over bodily harm any day though. The car can be replaced, people just can't.
I just happened to come upon this video on google so its a bit long in the tooth but....to Collette (sorry if i misspelled) I realize you felt bad about this but theres really nothing you could of done differently. You could use a 100 fire bottles and the car still would of been on fire because it still had a source of fuel namely oil dripping on hot headers. You did the right thing pulling over shutting the car down and thank God you didnt open the hood you would of had an inferno most likely. In the end cars are material and for the most part replaceable...lives are neither of those so glad she is ok.
your nans toaster that would be cool, but Putting a different engine will affect EVERYTHING about the car. It will be a pain. The voodoo engine is better too! 8250rpm’s, and it’s one of the best sounding cars in the world. It would be a waste of a track car, he should put a voodoo back into it. If he’d do that, he should just get a v6/Eco mustang for the barra swap Not worth messing up a 40-50k+track car
Too bad you didn't disclose details about your discussions with Ford. It'd be really nice to know how Ford does or doesn't stand by their product when it does something like this on a track for people who can't just run out and by another tomorrow. Insurance often won't want to deal with it in cases like these because it's on track so it'd be interesting to know if they're just SOL. Glad nobody was hurt. Crazy that that happens, but this is just new motor teething issues I guess.
With his online presence and all the evidence compiled from this incident and the previous incident which all stemmed from the same factory defect , he knew fine that he could negotiate an undisclosed solution with Ford . They probably compensated him well and now that he has the option of buying the car back cheap from insurance to make tons of content building it into a drift car , this "loss" will actually be hella lucrative .

I like how the car was basically burnt out and the first thought is “oh hey, this could be a nice drift car”
Ryan King same here man. I watched his videos occasionally but not I’m like on a nonstop grind of watching his videos. Really enjoying his channel now.
Exactly! When he talks about how people say he is ungrateful, it's not that at all! He is setting an example on how to handle a bad situation as an adult!
