Super glad the nods to Shrek were practically non existent and this was able to stand on it’s own.

Here's the real brilliance of Humptys ending: He didn't die. He became a golden egg for saving the baby. It was never his destiny to steal the golden eggs. It was his destiny to BE a golden egg.

As a child, I did not expect some plot twists, and I thought that everything would revolve around Jack and Jill.

Not so fun fact: De clawing your cat is actually removing their knuckles. It affects the way they walk and takes away their first matter of defense. Without it, cats are prone to just bite because they are vulnerable.

The fact that Puss is based on Zorro, who was also performed by Antonio Banderas, is so cool. I'm also soooooo pumped for the new movie. FYI, I think it comes to theaters in September of this year.

Finally, after 11 years, they are finally releasing a sequel!

Kitty Softpaws and Puss make a GREAT team! So excited to see how their relationship go even further in the sequel.!

It’s always amazing to me that people forget it’s Antonio Banderas playing Puss in Boots haha. Playing Puss in Boots is one his highest royalties role along with the mask of Zorro, Desperado, Spy Kids, Interveiw with a vampire, and surprisingly the Spongebob movie- sponge is out. Edit: I’ve never seen this before so this is my first time watching and why is the poor black kitty declawed!?! That’s just like in the Bolt movie (which I know Nick did a reaction to) where the black kitty with white accents was also declawed as well so she had no natural defenses and had to improvise 😭

This movie aged like a fine wine! The intro of this movie is so Nostalgic and how much I love the plot twist. This movie on my fav list. Thanks for reacting to this Nick!

They were originally going to feature Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey in this movie, with Shrek and Fiona having different voice actors, while Donkey was still voiced by Eddie Murphy, but that ended up NOT happening.

YES!!!! Me and my mom LOVE this movie and the Puss in boots 2 is comming!!!! Well almost 12 years later but it is! Wow I was 7 or 8 when it came out! And the 2nd one is comming, i usually feel a little insecure about spin off movies but this one is great for me

I agree with you, Humpty’s death was very tragic. But he sacrificed himself to make up for his mistakes and save his brother and the town. So at least he died an honorable death.

This cat is absolutely my favorite Shrek character, so I definitely was excited when they gave him a movie. I was obsessed when it first came out.

As a cat mommy I have to say “declawing” a cat is like removing one of your fingertip not nails but cutting a part of your finger! Please don’t do it ever it’s torture for the cat it’s extremely painful if your cat scratches trim their nails away from the blood vessels that exist in the nails of cats.. thank you for coming to my meow talk

12:01 the nursery rhyme of Humpty Dumpty was actually based on a literal giant cannon but not the name of a person but those nursery rhymes were based on historical events and real people and not to mention once served as cautionary to other people who sided with the Royals of England.

Puss is reminds that I had the orange cat once. Her name was Marie. She was abandoned and we raise her as our pet. I miss her 😢

I honestly really like Puss in Boots! It’s fun, humorous, and has plenty of action. I like what they did by having Humpty Dumpty as a character, it was interesting to see how he has a shared past with Puss. The addition of Kitty Softpaws was pretty cool too. Thanks a lot for this reaction, Nick!

Declawing is a painful procedure for cats. Do not declaw a cat ever. Declawing means cutting off the entire first digit off of each separate finger. It's painful, it's excruciating, cats experience phantom pain because the claw mechanism is combined with several muscles. What makes it worse is if your cat used to claw, it will bite even more. There are several stages of a cats self defense which include hissing , growling, clawing and then biting. The biting is worse. And since you take their claws away entirely, they will skip past this stage and bite hard.

I honestly love this Movie that's one of my Favorites for DreamWorks and Cartoon Movies,I always though that the Sequel eas never going to happen but I'm excited to see it this Year.

Just realized that not only this movie and the first Thor were released the same year (2011), but the friendship between Puss and Humpty parallels Thor and Loki. Both villains (Humpty and Loki) were jealous of the heroes (Puss and Thor) and wanted to be their equals, while the heroes try to convince them not to destroy people’s lives because it wasn’t the way to go. Not to mention that both Humpty and Loki reformed before their deaths.

I love DreamWorks' Puss in Boots (2011) a spin-off movie of DreamWorks' Shrek franchise. And it's a prequel and this is long before Puss met Shrek and Donkey in DreamWorks' Shrek 2 (2004).

Kitty Softpaws has been my favorite character ever since I saw this movie. She's so sassy, spunky but also caring and sweet. I like sassy, spunky and powerful female characters cause I'm spunky and sassy myself 😁😉

I just love how Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek work together every chance they get. Also, the DVD has a bonus short that is ridiculous.

If you haven't seen this 2013 animation called "epic" i would highly recomended to watch it. Its soo good and yet underrated ;(

I will say that in the after credits, where the outro song is playing, Humpty is shown with the golden goose above the clouds. I might be remembering wrong though lol

Even though I totally not mind they made up an entire different story for Puss in Boots here, when I was seeing this I was expecting the actual fairy tale: In the Netherlands there was once an old man who owned a mill. He had 3 sons, who would inherit all after his passing. But this was not going very fairly: The oldest brother got the mill. The middle brother got the animals and the youngest brother was only left with the cat (because the cat was considered useless). Thus the youngest son was kicked out. Roaming the fields with only this cat as his companion, the man discovered it could talk. The cat tells him that if he does exactly as he says he will become rich. But Puss is gonna need a pair of boots and a hat first. It all starts off with the cat and the man catching partridges and gifting them to the king as token of friendship. Puss delivers the birds each time and announces them as a present of the Duke (referring to his owner). The king is so pleased with this that he insists of visiting the Duke at his castle in person, with his daughter the princess. Puss accepts. Next is the entire scam. Puss tells his owner to get rid of his clothes and jump into the water. Hesitantly the man does as told and when the king and princess cross by in their carriage, they notice him. Puss tells them his owner the Duke had been robbed from all his possessions at the spot. Feeling for him, the king and the princess comfort the man, as Puss proposes to go forward to the castle, preparing for their arrival. There is indeed a castle. But it belongs to an awfull giant that has shapeshifting powers. As Puss goes forward to the castle, along the way he tells all the workers in the field that if the king asks who's land this is they have to refer to the Duke. Arriving at the castle, Puss pretends to be an admirerer of the giant. This giant, flattered by Puss, shows his shapeshifting skills off. Then Puss challenges him to change into a mouse, to which he does. Next thing, Puss eats him. And so it happens, that when the king, the now crowned Duke and the princess arrive at the castle and Puss awaits them. The Duke, in reality a poor mill owner's son, now has the wealthiest life he could imagen and marries the princess. All because of Puss and his quick thinking

the music in this is wayyyy better than it had any right to be! I can't wait to see what you think.

12:00 Humpty Dumpty in fact isn't an egg at all. It's a cannon that was used by Royalists in the English Civil War. The great fall refers to when the enemies had the idea to simply destroy the wall the cannon was sitting on, causing it to fall and smash to pieces, like when you drop an egg on the ground.

The real Humpty was a cannon, it fell off a wall and all of the kings men with all of their horses couldn't put it back together again.

Great reaction! Well I love about it is that it reminds me so much of Zorro. Antonio Banderas who voices Puss In Boots was also in the movies the Mask of Zorro and the Legend of Zorro which I recommend you check out. He’s also been a great character for the Spy Kids film series. Also if you are fan of fairytales I highly recommend Into The Woods.

The sad parts reminds me you should watch the Green Mile, if you like. It may be intense but still have such powerful and miraculous scenes.

I’ve always wondered if having Antonio’s character use a guitar as a weapon with Selma’a character might be a subtle nod to “Desperado”.
