I love how a suicidal broken mid life crisis bored batman was put into the pit and reborn bruce wayne climbs out of it reborn with a new love of life after being in figurative hell...he seems different with his lifting rising triumphant pose as he is on top of the hole standing tall but being shaky kinda free more so than before internally and kinda more like he used to be...he does not know everything he's scarred to die again he did enough and forgives himself...I like how wobbly he is fatigued as he runs after the climb

@@sebastianrodriguez9884 It's not your comment that I'm bothered by. It's Numbers 31:17-18, Numbers 5:20-29, Isaiah 45:7, Matthew 6:5, and the fact that Matthew, Mark, and Luke all copied each others notes and then made up their own stories for the resurrection. That's what I'm bothered by.

She also seemed to miss how john blake is clean so gordon can't bully him during the bane dent letter speech exposure ..he's robin so he has his own pure form of justice...he was venting too....it's gordon fault that letter exists and now he knows the system is broken which is why he quits at the end as gordon told him and be repeats back saying the force is like shackles...he can't take it...people vent on blake but jim could of said something earlier...nolan makes both sides right so the tension is hard to pick sides on as you like bot of them so you feel weird seeing gordon in this light..you react negative to it out of desperation and familiarity ..it makes you react weird and pick the old character you like even if he's a bit wrong...blake leaves upset cause he sees this is all a lie and he needs time to deal or just was casually leaving anyways so...I don't get mad at either side there....both were wrong and right..it's a mess....

I blame morons like CinemaSins and Nostalgia Critic for completely ruining movie criticism discourse online. Now every idiot thinks they're a professional critic because they can nitpick a bunch of meaningless, surface level details without ever actually applying any critical thinking. They're the reason why whenever I watch movies, I go out of my way to see the good in it, just to try and offset the swarm of negativity disguised as "criticism".

@@kemenyb Idk if I'd say better but it's not worse. TDK has better individual character arcs & performances and is a mythological story. TDKR has a more relevant plot and is a cultural story. But both have elements of both, which is why they work so well on many levels.

My variation of this take is that The Dark Knight should’ve been 2 movies and it really falls apart narratively after the big chase about 2/3 of the way through (when the Joker gets captured). Like, there’s still good scenes after (the two ferries stand out), but the movie suffers for having to cram Harvey’s entire Two Face arc into the last act as well as resolve The Joker (who himself is clearly set up to come back in a sequel, but Ledger’s offscreen death obviously leaves that, like his character, just hanging). It should’ve either ended with The Joker defeated (maybe with a small recurring role planned, assuming Ledger’s survival, in the future, like Cillian Murphy’s Scarecrow) but Rachel dead and Harvey set up as the villain of the next film, or on a Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions-style direct sequel cliffhanger with the Joker captured but the Harvey/Rachel kidnapping happening, then the next film (having been filmed all at once) being released the next year (then TDKR on schedule in 2012). As it is, The Joker and Harvey kind of steal each other’s spotlight in the last 45 minutes and the emotional climax of the movie feels like it’s already happened with Rachel’s death and Harvey’s turn to evil, with everything else playing as fallout from it, like the 10th episode of a season of a show like Game of Thrones, when the major moment of the season happens in the 9th and then the last hour is just wrap up and reaction to it. While I really like the first 60% or so of TDK, I think its status as “the best superhero movie ever” is REALLY overrating it (there have honestly been some great superhero movies over the past 20 years, from Spiderman 2, to Iron Man 1, to Cap: Winter Soldier, etc). I honestly like the other two Nolan Batman movies better as complete films, even though I still really like TDK, and think that its best moments are some of the highest highs of the Nolan trilogy (it’s just also the most inconsistent and disjointed plotwise).

Agreed, although I was always a fan of Green Lantern too - wish he'd gotten a better movie! And Flash is just fun. On the villain side, Lex Luthor has to be up there too. And I'd take pretty much any single Batman villain over the bad guys from MCU. @Kratos, I've been reading Batman since the early 80's and thought they nailed it, especially the deeper roots that make it work on a mythological scale. Curious what you think they missed?

@@danhalstead705 especially when you consider they were going for a more real-world feel, weighted in reality. They didn't want it to feel fantastical. I loved how they took the idea of the Lazarus Pit, and used it as the prison of Ra's al Ghul's heir being his immortality.

Obenohnebohne. Hold up a second did you seriously say that the stakes weren't high in batman begins. Apparently you didn't see the movie because the stakes were definitely high especially with villians like scarecrow and ras al ghoul

@@blackfrieza1912 Let me put it in other words. I did see the movie, why would I watch the second movie but skip the first where the origin story of Batman is explained. I am interested in Batman but I am not a hardcore fan. The stakes were high but somehow the movie didn’t stick with me (as much as I had wished). Don’t get me wrong. I give credit to all the actors (I like Cillian Murphy, Liam Neeson, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman,... ). The film is well made, Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors of all time. I love the origin story of Batman. I guess, I did not connect well with the League of Shadows. I remember faceless fighters. Of course I remember Ras al Ghul and Scarecrow and I agree: Scarecrow’s gas was scary. But I personally wasn’t at the edge of my seat. Ras al Ghul didn’t feel like a menace to me. Probably because I didn’t know enought about him and the League of Shadows. I don’t want to talk bad about the movie, just share my personal perspective. I can see why others find it amazing. They got more out of the movie than me. And I am a bit jealous because I like the Nolan Batman universe. I respect other opinions and I am glad that we all can share our different experiences.
