They forgot a part before zamasu kills Gowasu where he asks black why he killed the gods too and black tells him that “he already knew they would be against the idea”. Gowasu than claps back by basically saying “that just means you knew what you are doing is wrong” goku black than has no response and starts SWEATING knowing he just got exposed lol.
*Fun Fact:* DBZ Kakarot covers Trunks’ events against Babidi even more. Plenty of the final fight from _Kakarot_ mimics the actions and panel work from the DBS’ manga’s displays. Clearly inspired to keep them relatively the same.
@@RandomName-xx9ls that’s why he made dragon ball online years ago and people still think GT and heroes and xenoverse series and fighterz is non canon when he explained it is
@_SSCJ imo the form at least looks cool and is different than a palette swap, and makes some reasonable sense. Sucks that it was kinda useless though.
@@XenoVibezz The manga was made first and was ahead of the anime at first. However, around the beginning of hte U6 arc, the anime surpassed the manga. Instead of stopping the anime or putting in fillers during the MIDDLE of the first real arc , Toei, Toriyama, and Toyotarou just decided to let the anime be ahead.
One scene the manga cuts is Vegeta speech when beating The Goku Black. The fact that Zamasu could never fully utilize Goku body because he took the shortcut, that Goku is strong because of years of training, discipline and being a Saiyan. That scene hits hard AF in the anime.
24:54 That's not exactly true for Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan uses a lot of energy to go into the form so switching between 1 or 2 into 3 would drain Goku much faster than staying in 3. I honestly don't see how blue and Super Saiyan god are different but whatever.
SSG supposedly in not a SSJ like form, it’s a divine base form. For comparisons sake, if there was a SSB 2 (SSB Evolved) the cost of switching from SSB to SSB2 is there. But SSG to SSB isn’t
yeah cuz then erasing the entire multiverse makes sense while zeno was being a dick here destroying the wold even tho he can finish every last atom of zamasu with one swipe
@@zeeshanismail7768 Honestly, I'm like bro could😂 you not have just bombed the area? The planet? Heck if he really wanted to make sure the solar system , but the whole timeline??? 😭
Originally Toriyama didn't intended to add Vegito in this arc but the toei add vegito to make it feel bigger And fused character vs another fused character
Manga scale makes a lot more sense. A mortal Trunks scales right there with Goku and Vegeta before they use God-Ki. He’s a hybrid and he’s been training. Makes sense. The gap from Completed Blue Goku to Vegito is still evident as well as the power limit of the potaras. Makes them using Gogeta against Broly make a lot more sense. Anime did build it up better but I believe it’s really just the fact that it’s animated. How many panels did we really need of Smoku Black? The scene in the anime where Vegito hit Zamasu with the turnaround Spirit Sword was one of the hardest scenes in the anime. Manga just make a bit more sense to me. Like u said, no BS ssrage, no BS Sword of Hope. U can see the build up for the TOP and the development of Blue and Red. This and Moro prolly the two best arcs.
@@superexclusive452 That’s fine. But in the manga, when Goku is using Perfected Blue, he’s acknowledged as being stronger than he was during his earlier fight. In the anime, not only does he start to outfight Zamasu but even when his arms are broken, he’s dealing damage. Further proving that despite the Ki leakage issue, he was a lot stronger than when they initially boxed.
I still wish they gave Trunks more to do, instead of just being reduced to temporary white mage. I also think that Goku Black was significantly less interesting and entertaining in the manga, despite being drawn much better. In general, the setpieces used for fights were significantly less interesting as a whole. There's also the "Supreme Kai" qualification plothole that the manga introduced which is nonexistent in the anime. For some things, I prefer the manga, and for others, I prefer the anime. I like to consider both.
another unmentioned manga W: the anime makes a quirk about Goku saying he just needs to beat up a Black guy. They removed the single word that made that questionable lol
Goku winning the beam struggle makes more sense in the manga than the anime. After video watch: I thought Goku went ultra instinct sign against fused Zamasu during the beam struggle? I guess I was mistaken
Y'know trunks cutting a goku black and zamasu who are off guard and splitting so they're panicking in half makes way more sense then him straight up cutting merged zamasu in half cause even if he was corrupted that fucker was still trading blows with vegito blue.
15:54 The Pilaf gang are semi gag characters. It makes sense that she is extremely durable. 28:16 It wasn’t a retcon, in the manga version of the Buu saga Goku said that it ran out.
Just to let you know Mai also survived a explosion inside a vehicle with gasoline, and only black marks were on her she is one of the luckiest characters in Dragon Ball
Gonna admit...the anime Black arc was trash by comparison. The Kais were getting down to BUSINESS in the manga. Instead the anime takes out all the Kais work and ends up being drawn out badly.
I think zamasu was actually asking some pretty good questions. like when you’re overseeing the universe, its fair to think “whats the point in all this? Tf is the point? Why don’t we just interfere n’ correct all the evil?” Thats some pretty fair stuff to be asking about… the problem was Gowasu was absolutely dogshit at answering those questions, bro basically just said “because I said so”. And then that led to Zamasu coming to his own fucked up answers to his own questions. Obviously the fact Zamasu instantly went to genocide means he was never really a good dude at heart, but at first he was just asking some genuinely good quesions
@@richborn6700I don't think the timelines are the same in anyway so maybe she's actually the same age as future trunks also what if she doesn't know who pilaf and the dog is but Akira fucked up the anime so his fault in the end
@@Von.gzzz0 The timelines are the same up until Mecha Frieza. In Trunks' timeline, Goku offs him, there's peace since they don't know about the Androids, and Goku dies of Heart Virus before the Androids kill everyone but Gohan, Bulma, and Trunks. So unless the Pilaf Gang became kids before when the Android Saga would've happened, there are no Dragon Balls to use. And there's no implication that this happened. There's no reason for future Mai to be around Trunks' age.
@@espurrseyes42 dude I watched dbz you don't gotta explain but I'm not talking about dbz this is about super maybe she was never old like present mai we don't know nor can we assume
@@Von.gzzz0 I do gotta explain since this is the same timeline from Z, progressed forward towards past when Babidi and gang showed up. It's not a different timeline. Mai was already an adult in Classic, and would've been older in Z, where Piccolo died and the Dragon Balls with him in the Trunks timeline to prevent the wish in Super that turns her into a kid. It's not possible for there to be a younger Mai in that timeline.
THIS. No Dragonballs since Trunks was a baby Almost all the Earth's population was wiped out, no way Pilaf and co. made it for like 30 years after the androids. It's dumb as fuck
probably gave kid trunks blue hair to keep it actually consistent because Bulma trunks both versions and Bulla really are supposed to have purple hair the original Bulma design had purple hair which is why Trunks has purple hair and if you look at it Dr.Briefs has purple hair Panchy and Tights have blonde hair.
Manga Merged Zamasu has such a lame moveset compared to anime Merged Zanasu. A bunch of Katchin Cubes and some portals? Really that is how creative you can get with a fusion character fight? In the anime he had lighting from halo thing, his Light of Absolution Ki Ball attack, the death stand bird thung amplifying his attacks, swords of destruction that fired upon the enemy skewering them, and when they landed on the ground they blew up like mines. Even Goku Black's moves were cooler like his needler exploding blades, his Ki scythe, the dimensional rift clones, and his team up atracks with Future Zamasu. At least past this arc Toyotaro got better with fight choregraphy in comparison. Well depends on how you view the rest of the manga at least.
This doesn’t apply to super but I’ve always hoped you would invest more into Manga. it seems like the author’s intent is important to you it always made sense that you would end up going to work on the source material. Really appreciate these videos from you as a fellow fan
keep in mind the mai in dbs is around 40-60 cause shes way older than goku because she was a grown women when pilaf wished for them all to turn young again
At the end of the day I do prefer the anime to the manga, because as clunky as it was, at least Trunks was relevant. I can't name one thing Trunks did between arriving in the future and cutting Merged Zamasu in half. He is even more irrelevant than he was in Z after killing Mecha Frieza. Not saying the anime wasn't flawed in power scaling and retcons, but at least it didn’t make me actively forget Trunks was around. And at least Trunks had actual character work in the anime, he learns to believe and rely on himself and what he has in his timeline rather than running to the future for help. In the manga, he runs to the future for help and does next to nothing afterwards.
To be fair, the potara stuff isn't really a retcon due to it never really being that explored. It was vague about the permanent situation and elder kai who is known to forget things clearly left that out which makes sense in universe and makes sense as to why vegetto defused against buu
No. It's a retcon. Elder Kai gave definitive statements about the Potara and has no business to not know how his own tools work or leave out such an important detail. And because of those statements, other DB media rolled with it and made Potara permanent while Fusion was temporary and could fail, even going as far as for Dragonball Fusion to incorporate elements of both with EX Fusion, not having a time limit and not having a failure state like Potara, but using the dance like Fusion. It's a MAJOR retcon to then say all of that was wrong because what was said all those years ago about the Potara was false, with the only reasonable explanation being that either Elder Kai is a jackass who didn't mention the time limit on purpose, or a dumbass that either doesn't know how his own tools that were used to make him work.
@espurrseyes42 again...for all we knew, potara WAS permanent based on what elder kai said. Still doesn't add up what happened with buu's body defusing them considering gotenks was still fused. You're also forgetting elder kai forgot a lot of shit. Also using a video game to determine how something in the story works is crazy. The only that matters is kakarot since toriyama helped work on it. Again, it's all on elder kai for forgetting or didn't know because he's never seen fusion with two mortals. Ofc he'd think it'd be permanent. So no, not a retcon
@@lordkai59 There is no "was" permanent. There's no evidence that the mechanics of Potara changed in-universe. From the information we've been given, Elder Kai lied about how they work. And before you try to say to give him the benefit of doubt that he didn't know about the Kai fusee stipulation, you're expecting too much of anyone to think that a Kai as old as him doesn't know how his own tools are supposed to work. It's not A videogame. It's EVERY videogame that's ever had Vegito in it. Which is a LOT of them. Budokai 2 and 3. Tenkaichi series. Xenoverse. Dragonball FUSIONS that has a special Fusion variant that merges aspects of both existing types. Various other games. All of which are based on the same canon material that states Potara is permanent. For multiple decades.
That’s because of the power-boost potential growth that came from after doing his post-kaioshin training to the point where when he was on his own he rained himself to the brink of death during the few years of peace he had in his world before goku black showed up to where he achieved in Max full power variant state of SS2.
While that shot of the thousands of Zamasu squaring up was dope, I still prefer him fusing with the universe. It just goes to show how broken the Super Dragon Balls are, him becoming the universe made the situation feel hopeless, and it made all the more sense for Zeno to erase the entire timeline.
Them manga movies are always on point. I remember doing one punch man to the manga movies and baki. They keep the hype going (and is the whole reason i was upset with season two opm. metal bat was going IN). Good idea to do this bro
@@realAndresilver No. Because if he got it in the manga because of the ritual, then it calls into question why Gohan never got the form when he had an opportunity pre-Superhero.
13:52 Well luckily for you there’s fan theories about Zarama (the creator of the Super Dragon Balls and the amazing Super Shenron) being the true creator/omni king 👀
I don't like how Vegeto in the manga barely lasts, though. Fusing while stronger shouldn't make the time limit shorter, only straining yourself should. Unless they have a thing where it's 2v2 and the weaker 2 fuse for longer than the stronger 2 can, then maybe.
It's not that "stronger = shorter time", Vegetto used the imperfect SSB that drained a lot of energy (similar to SS3), if Vegetto used the same SSB as Goku did against fused Zamasu, he would have lasted longer
@@Sean_9224 I thought perfected was just when they hold the aura in their body, but I thought they don't do that much cause it can tear them apart, like Kaioken can.
12:38 plus he probably wanted to prove himself superior to the mortals first before he ended them, if he just wished them all away that would kinda just be him admitting to himself that the mortals were stronger than him
The guy that narrates these does an amazing job. I just hate he shared the job with that dude on the TOP video who you could barely understand compared to this first guy
Soo if mai somehow still had life in her a sensu can still save her so I guess its more of q she was very close to death scenario but like this is also the manga ssb goku was taken out by a laser soooooo does it really matter at this point?
