+Mongoose Gaming If mean killing people and pretty much skulking the city in a poor stupor instead of actually putting his resources towards improving things, then yeah he gets shit done.
+L0ST S0UL If he was poor there would be no Alfred to take care of him so possibly he'd go to an orphanage and be more like Rorschach. On the other side a poor Wayne family wouldn't go to a classy theather and they'd be less tempting for the thief.
The Wonderful and Mythical World of Salmacis how about if batman was forced to see his family killed and almost got killed by the thugs of the street while there raping his mother ?
Love how everytime Rorschach fights, he takes advantage of his environment and surroundings (The lighter and spray, the food tray and boiling liquid, the electrocuting water)
@@phemsee6838 Not really, he's been shown to have at least peak human levels of strength, for example at 1:55 is not something that a scrawny guy would do lol
Rorschach went down fighting hard, there was no way he'd run. He was my favorite character in the movie, damn shame how it ended. Great graphic novel, loved the story.
thats what i dont understand.. he WAS trying to run.. wasnt he? or was his whole objective to get caught? seemed a bit sucky that he got overpowered by the cops
MrAmmo30 He just jumped out of a building and was surrounded by cops. It would be incredibly unrealistic on Rorschach's part if he some how over powered them all and escaped.
He is not batman he know I think like two way to fight I think I'm not sure but it was boxing and something else plus he never to expect to be set up and to find a group of police officer and the swat team coming after him
You know, Rorschach might have been able to just take off his mask and costume, hidden them or thrown them out of the building, come out pretending to be a hostage, and then slipped away while the cops ran into the building. But then again, that would have been quite outside his character.
+JimmySteller I think that actually would be part of his nature. He follows a certain ideology on how things should be, hunt bad guys, and make sure they cant hurt or corrupt society again. He doesn't care about the means, only the end result. Plot wise though, Rorschach has to be captured in order for the story to move on and to make an opportunity to bring up Rorschach's background.
Edgar Delgado nah he’s actually spot on. This film just didn’t fundamentally get or convey the what the comic was all about. It’s actually an insult to the comic. It’s everything the comic satirized (including objectivism which Snyder happens to follow). It made Rorschach the hero of the story and everything. It’s just a bad adaptation.
+Tem Sam Those soldiers are supposed to take batman alive cuz superman wants to deal with him in person. That scene is done in one cut, so clearly it's not garbage at all.
This is one of the few scenes in the movie that, in my opinion, is actually better than the graphic novel. I always loved how Snyder took the time to show how dangerous, intelligent, and unpredictable Rorschach can be. He wasn't just some psycho with a cool mask; this was someone who could solve crimes that would leave the police scratching their heads, fight several different opponents at the same time, and not just survive but thrive in prison. Rorschach had the balls to stand before a god and refuse to compromise, even in the face of Armageddon.
What I love about this charactar, is that as far as I know, he is the most realistic super hero. A failed escape like this has more merit and is more intense than "Superman" destroying a moon that's about to crash with a planet. We don't need more over the top super heroes, we need characters like this, who posess the same fisical abilities of a gimnast and a sharp mind.
+SalveMonesvol It's even more realistic in the graphic novel, where he twists his ankle in the fall, then gets kicked in the face, taking him out for the count.
Misconception there. Its not that Superman is over the top, its that people try to copy what he is without knowing what he stands for. Supermans dilemma is what he should do rather than what hes able to while Rorschach is the polar opposite. Its the reason why we have so many failed Batman copies too people do the cool brooding, secret identity stuff without realizing hes more than that.
Seriously? I think you have no cinematography cultura buddy, this is just one of the thousands of "martial arts fights" scenes with CGI and SFX...if you change the costumes it could any Jacky Chan scene. It's actually pretty dull and definetly not "the best scene in which the character has nothing to loose".
WolfySnackrib666 Rorschach: Rorschach's Journal: August 5th, 2016. I was in a bar in a dance club. I saw a sexy hot blonde haired lady dancing and she comes out to see that green haired freak. Then some guy was bugging me. I took a drink, then I spit on him. He challenged me to a drinking contest. He drank 30 cups of whisky. I on the other hand, took the whole bottle of whiskey and I drank it whole. I stared at him for 30 seconds and then he passed out. I won the drinking contest. I walked outside from the bar. I saw these two clowns leave in their car. Suddenly, I feel sick. I went to my apartment and I puked everywhere. I was drunk for 9 hours. Until I woke up. I finally got sober. I'll find that lady who was in prison. Hope she's not crazy like my ex-girlfriend.
I always thought it was something really unsettling when they pulled of his mask and he screamed "NO NO GIVE ME BACK MY FACE!" Like if they really did pull off his face and in a way they did. After that we only saw the mask as a mask when we knew the face underneath.
2:42 was one of best hand to hand combat sequences ive seen in a while. even better than any hand to hand stuff ive seen in the recent batman movies so far. it was extremely well coordinated, and the sound effects were great
Took nearly 7 or 8 cops to fully restraint him, Rorschach, especially when cornered, is an absolute fucking beast. Taking on multiple opponents doesn't even seem to bother him he just keeps on powering through, absorbing punches and elbows to the face not giving a damn.
Rorschach is everything I want in a good tabletop RPG character. He follows a set of self imposed guidelines. He has personality quirks and flaws. He is incredibly quick thinking and creative. He connects clues and solves problems. He fights till the bitter end. He makes me really want to make a 5e Fighter character whose whole thing is that he possesses proficiency in tons of different things. High focus on intelligence and perception not just brute strength. His signature weapon would be a crowbar as an homage to the creative problem solving of the half life series 😊
to me i think this is the best movie dc ever mad because they follow the comics to the exact nothing is different. n like i said TDK is overrated movie n to me its a good movie not a great movie
This movie did justice to the protagonist rorschach because not only was he adept at martial arts (fighting) but he wasn't some unstoppable force who could beat every single guy
Because they are dumb, I guess? Lots of people who disliked the movie simply didn't understand it. The negative comments are always the same: -the superheroes don't even have super powers! -the so-called superheroes are aging losers!! -why are the so-called heroes fascists? -it's historical revisionism, a propaganda movie to the glory of the USA!! -the plot is too convoluted! -Dr. Manhattan's blue schlong!
rorschach in comic is much more of a nerd than rorschach in the movie like... comic rorschach twisted his ankle jumping out the window as like Last Resort cause the grappling hook gun was such a spontaneous idea since they had him cornered on the stairs and as he lay prone on the ground in pain THATS when they caught him. it kinda made rorschach more real in a way to be taken away in such an undignified manner rather than going down literally fighting.
Just look at this... LOOK AT IT!!! The visual style, the tone, the fighting- and comic book style is all just perfect! Now, imagine Zack Snyder's take on BATMAN in the BvS! I just cant wait to finally see a comic book Batman on silver screen for the first time WITH Big Blue! NERD-GASM!!!!
what I love about this flick is not just the straight on adaptation of the graphic novel page for page but the casting as well:D perfect is what I call it:D
funny how I relate most to rorshach than any other superhero. normal but psychotic human being trying to do what's right. guy needs his own video game (mechanics similar to sleeping dogs or arkham games) as well as his own spin off movie or show. now I know how it feels to have a favorite super hero being severely underrated by media
I like that Rorschach is on the wavelength of his opponent. The moment the police showed up he knew he'd been played. Trying to fight his way out is him challenging just how good the plan really was. Spoilers: Ultimately, it wasn't a good enough plan.
@@curiousgeorge5992 I doubt it. Roshach is smaller than most of them, outnumbered, and they're trained killers. Rorshach would be grabbing one gun of a dozen and get shot while doing it. As an aside, I'm not sure Rorshach would even want a gun. As a Batman analog, using guns doesn't seem his style.
The film was actually better than the graphic novel, but not as deep. The graphic novel was challenging or overturning practically every comic hero convention and cliché while at the same time telling a fairly complex story (not to mention the whole pirate/Black Freighter comic within a comic). The movie is more straightforward. It's just like the stupid LotR debates - the films are similar to the books but not meant to be identical.
Watch the director cut 3 hous long of watchmen, including The black Freighter narrated by Gerad Bluter. For me makes a tons of diference between the theatrical version. And the Director version. basicaly a new film alltogether.
I know Rorschach isn’t super powered but I love the detail of him jumping out of the window and landing roughly and not the super hero pose, because realistically that’s what would happen if a human jumped out of a building.
Funny how Alan Moore thought he was making a character that was suppose to be reviled as a near nazi, but actually ends up making the most beloved character in the whole comic/movie.
He traveled extensively around the world learning the secrets of the most exotic martial arts from the foremosts experts... WAIT! that is Batman..... Most probably Rorschach learned by watching RU-vid free courses
I was always wondering what it would be like with a Batman & Rorschach movie with Jackie as Rorschach and Ben or Bale as Batman, 2 Great Vigilante detectives with expert combat and interrogation skills.
If his detective skills are so good, then how come he didn't notice he was talking to a corpse despite some signs indicating such? It took him way too long to realize that dude was dead.
Rorschach made this movie great. If MCU wants a new Wolverine I recommend this actor. He has the voice and the toughness. We need to see the real Logan. Hugh Jackman was way too soft.
This whole movie closely follows the Graphic Novel, but That part when they remove his mask is very accurate. The acting just emulated the how Rorschach looked like in yhe Novel. Wow
You know, props for the unrealistic fight (not saying that's bad) having a realistic ending. You're gonna get dog piled and arrested if you stay and fight instead of running away. You can be the best fighter in the world but if it's just you against an entire police precinct you're getting arrested.
What about the fact that despite starting the scene off with what's implied to be a loaded pistol and midway through the scene disarming a good number of cops with a multitude of rifles with select fire he doesn't think to use one of those weapons at his disposal to escape the cops? Dude's clearly fine with killing he fire's his grappling hook into a dude's gut for Christ's sake
He fired a C02 powered grappling hook into an armored SWATs chest, that's very far from killing. Broken sternum, yes, but not killing. He's fine with killing criminals. Not cops.
Rorschach's a street brawler brilliant and skilled definitely but he's not a professional and he's an average person Batman's had international training in over a hundred martial arts and other skills and he's both a genius level tactician and peak human athlete he'd win sure Rorschach's a killer but Batman deals with people like him all the time
hiimchrisj Yes but Rorshach is described as "tactically brilliant" being able to make flame throwers from scratch and using toilets and wires to his advantage. He also took out 5 cops + 5 armored black ops cops. I believe Rorshach would get very close to beating batman and then stop because of his soft spot for costumed vigilantes. Just like in Under the Redhood how Jason Todd almost be batman but got off guard. Rorshach's ruthlessness wouldn't allow him to get off guard but if he doesn't beat batman, he definitely wouldn't be beaten.
Entis- The Factionless dude.. Batman is the greatest martial artist of all time. As much as I love Rorschach.. It would be over QUICKLY. Rorschach took down 10 cops but Batman doesn't even need to because its like he was never there. He takes down anyone and everyone he wants to and Rorschach would be nothing but another thug in his eyes to cripple.
kahzhoex Yeah, but Rorschach is a tactical genius. (At least in the comics) He wasn't emotional until they took off his "face". In the movie, he's emotional the entire time, and his voice is always flared up. Not a very faithful adaptation. Still liked the movie though.
