Q3: NS is isotonic so it only stays in the ECF compartment, every 1 L of IV NS distributes 750ml to the interstitium and 250ml to the plasma , hence to deliver 1L of NS to plasma would need 4L of NS.

Not a medical student, just here to learn the basics, but i am a student of the Whole of creation, and a thought came to mind,, if each cell works the same, then each part of the body should give a sign of the whole. In other words, the whole is in the parts and the parts reveal the whole. My point is,, there should be a way to pick parts and see the fractal of the whole. Not sure which part would be best, but it should hold true. Probably cells or membranes near the core of the body. Since all parts function together, i would think some kind of resonant frequency would reveal someones health condition. A fractal holographic view from one specific area should reveal the whole health condition.

Word vomit 😅 But I was about to cry because every year I find myself re reading water compartment in the body 😭 Not that I don't know it but my brain has to connect everything I read in a diagram 😊 So everytime I think ,yeah I got it now I get another hurdle, and the picture just doesn't make any sense again, because of the interstitial and intercellular fluid 😅 Always wanted to know exactly how its works because I understood yeah cell has water inside and outside of it. But always asked what of the one in the blood since they're also part of a cell and plasma but they've never been that one person that get the picture I'm trying to paint in my head so thank you very much for that one picture of the blood and cells around, really helped this student who just can't understand what they're reading if the picture aren't forming in the brain 😭✨️ Frustrating because people don't understand that the basics can be a hurdle for me, just because I get perfect grades doesn't mean I know them all🫂🫂🫂 So thank you very very much❤❤

Bro . Q No 1 answer is . Fascilitated diffusion not simple diffusion. Chloride passing through some channel either passively . Comes under facilitated diffusion
@denissemaldonado9094
@denissemaldonado9094 4 года назад
As per Guyton: Simple diffusion can occur through the cell membrane by two pathways: (1) through the interstices of the lipid bilayer if the diffusing substance is lipid soluble and (2) through watery channels that penetrate all the way through some of the large transport proteins

I have a question. So normally, the potassium concentration is greater outside the cell (ECF)? and the Sodium concentration inside the cell (ICF) is also greater? I'm confused, pardon.
@MedicosisPerfectionalis

Potassium is more prevalent inside the cell (ICF), whereas sodium is more outside (ECF).

@MedicosisPerfectionalis
@MedicosisPerfectionalis 5 лет назад
Na-glucose co-transporter is a secondary active transport because it depends on the energy liberated from the primary active transport (Na-K)

Thank you so much fo this, just have a question : if let's say I'm 100kg and my plasma represents 5% of the 60% of water I have in my body, does this mean that I have 5l of plasma ??
@MedicosisPerfectionalis
@MedicosisPerfectionalis 3 года назад
By doing the math using 100kg, then yes! But the average person is assumed to be 70kg, and therefore 3L of plasma. In reality, however, if I am 100 kg, I am considered obese, and I have more fat, and therefore less water, so my plasma would be around 3L. Hope it helps!

@MedicosisPerfectionalis
@MedicosisPerfectionalis 5 лет назад
I am not sure...But I know that they deplete the intracellular Calcium (in cases of overdose)...That’s why one of the treatment regimens for beta blocker toxicity is to give IV Ca gluconate.
