For those of you that want to follow along with babies and not toddlers, use the guidance below to adjust those skills to really get the most out of them.
Face painting 🎨
This can be done with carers suggesting colours. You play the game and your baby copies. Give loads of praise for reaching out, leg kicking and putting their face in water.
Charlie the monkey on the ceiling 🐒
You can start to talk about Charlie from about 15 months. You can make up simple stories about Charlie that are relatable for little one like ‘Charlie is eating a banana’.
Magic fishes 🐟
This is great for younger babies. Talk about magic fishes and keep colours basic. Talking is always beneficial even if they are not yet old enough to understand the words. Talking to your baby is great for language development, making sense of the world and bonding.
Songs 🎶
You can help little ones do the actions by moving their arms and legs or let them copy you. Lots of repetition works well so sing away - in the car, in the bath, any chance you get! Most importantly have fun!
