Cinnamon Bun you naughty girl!! How cute is Red velvet playing with her nieces and nephews. She’s so tiny and adorable! Your working so hard and the path and bathroom wall look fab! You’re right you do have to pace yourself. We forget our age at times but many 30 year olds couldn’t manage what you do! That was very helpful of Nick ❤I would love all Portugal you tubers to come together (hint hint ) and give you a day to get jobs done and then you can relax a little and sit and enjoy your farm xx

If you elevated the barrels slightly, like put a couple of cinderblocks under each one an then secured each barrel to the fence with one rope near the top of the barrel and one at the bottom, they would be secure to the fence.

Are you ever going to make another bottle wall again? If so wouldn't it be fun to make shapes of birds, animals, flowers, stars, etc for windows or borders? Possibly use a variety of sizes and colors to make it. Just thought you are so creative and that would take it to a different level. Have a great week.

Put the waterbarrel on a concreet block. Put the nipples in the side of the concreet block and connect it to the barrel.

If the water is in the water barrel and the nipples in the concrete block, then how do the pigs get the water?
@Mydamian55

@@CindyVineA tube from the bottom of the barrell through the concreet to the nipples. Just like the waterpipe systems in normal houses. You even could build a small protection wall around the barrell.

Can one of your clever volunteers or friends fashion a breeze block water trough? Does anyone have any of those pig bowls hewn out of granite blocks that they might donate to you? Debi and Steve at Portugal DreamsZzz has 2 or so ou f those and might not mind getting rid of them. The challenge is those things are very hard to move. I'm envisioning a man using a steel bar that the portuguese use to move boulders and somehow walk it up a short ramp onto a dolly to roll onto/from vehicle then to final resting place. Thank Heaven Nick came by and coukd help with the metsl watering trough❣

The blue water barrels would remain standing if they were "inside" a frame built out of pallets with an opening for the nipples. You may not appreciate my suggestion, but such a frame, anchored by 4 metal posts at the corners, would be stable and cleaner. Tying a rounded bottom plastic tank to a round wooden post is simply a toy for pigs.
@CindyVine
@CindyVine Месяц назад
something to think about
@ernie7065
@ernie7065 Месяц назад
@@CindyVine It would likely solve the problem. Maybe put a "clean out plug" near the bottom & protected by part of the pallet, then place the nipples higher which would allow more water, which would add to stability. Properly placed "between" 2 pens would allow 1 water source to serve 2 groups of pigs. hmm why need separate water sources for each group?

@cazicature
@cazicature Месяц назад
Could the water barrels be put inside a holder made from some of those blocks & cement?
@CindyVine
@CindyVine Месяц назад
You could try and build a wall around it with big gaps that the pigs can get in to reach the nipples. The blocks would be too big though.
@JLHelik
@JLHelik Месяц назад
After 4 years ... Corner or put against a post or tree, your barrel then strapped at 3 places top, middle and bottom then lastly put 3 pegs in the ground at least 18 to 26 cm deep and 15 cm outside ... This way they can't lift it or swing it sideways . Hence Stop wasting water and your time and effort ..

This is constructive criticism. Your fencing looks haphazard , fragile and easily torn down by the pigs. It seems that you are forever and endlessly fixing broken and weak fences. Surely if you invested in more expensive fencing it would be worth the additional money in the long run?
@CindyVine

Electric tape on the fencing works best. I am not sure what you mean by more expensive fencing as I've used the proper standard fencing. It's just the people I paid good money to install it did a bum job.

@CindyVine Месяц назад

@donnacosta5633
@donnacosta5633 Месяц назад
What don't you agree about the EU market? Small countries like Portugal cannot produce ALL they need, beef & milk being an example, as only small areas are good for grazing cows. So Portugal buys food items they cannot poduce, or don't produce enough. And Portugal exports food they can produce easily, like, fruit, veg, olive oil, wine, pork, chicken, etc. Buying and selling within the EU (27 countries) is the same as buying and selling within one country, with no tariffs, no barriers, and it brings a huge variety & choice to consummers all year round that they would not have on their own. The EU market, also called the single market, is an internal market that provides enough variety and food security at similar prices to all within. And not just food: everything else, from construction materials, to cars, to planes, to medicine... I lived in Portugal before & after they joined the EU and I can tell you that BEFORE we didn't have enough milk, butter, beef and rice all year round and prices floctuated a lot, sometimes unafforfable. At my home we didn't have milk all year round, sometimes the only milk in shops was powdered milk. Now AFTER joining the EU we have everything we need all year round at reasonable prices. We sell the items we produce to countries that cannot produce them, so people can buy whatever they want, wherever they are in the EU. What is it you don't agree with?
