Bubble man, who has legs and should really be able to fight anyway: *cries* Splash woman, who doesn't have such an advantage: *still puts up an actual fight*
You can tell Splash Woman's the more advanced robot between herself and Bubble Man, because, despite being a mermaid, she can still fight back on land, and that trident is no joke!
That's mainly because Splash Woman was designed by Dr. Light with actual care, love and an actual purpose, meanwhile Bubble man was designed by Wily with not much care put into him, as a water-only fighting robot used exclusively to kill Mega Man in an underwater environment, and he can't walk or do anything outside of water due to design carelessness, that's kind of what it says in the CD Robot Data in Mega Man & Bass
@@DLN_0.5 Probably also because technology marched on. Bubble Man is a far more primitive robot because, when he was built, the tech to do the things he wanted to do just wasn't really there yet.
Adding specific reactions for water-dwelling enemies when they are out of water (in this case, already start out of water) sure was a genius touch. Imagine a level with normal water that you can find secret switches to turn it off (or back on to complete puzzles)
I love the added sprite animations: Bubble Man cries because there is no water but then also get crushed by a box, and Splash Woman - being a mermaid - falls to the ground because there is no water and is forced to sit. But at least she fights back.
Splash Woman: OH FFS WHO PUT ME IN A NON-WATER LEVEL?!? Bubble Man: First time? Splash Woman: Psh. Unlike you, I don't have to worry about malfunctioning legs. I can still put up a fight on land. Bubble Man: :-(
Splash Woman's my favorite Robot Master. Mega Man: "Hey, Splash Woman! Want to have a friendly match?" Splash Woman: "Sure, Rock, I'm all for i-- wait...There's no water!" **trips** Mega Man: **tries to prevent himself from laughing** Splash Woman: **agitated** "That's _not_ funny, Rock!" Mega Man: "I'm not laughing about the loss of water, I'm laughing about how you tripped!" Splash Woman: "Huh? OK, I guess that's _KIND OF_ funny, but that's it. Now let's have that friendly match." Mega Man: "OK."
So, I've been playing around with the new update, and I... I'm not sure how I feel about Roll's playstyle just yet. There's a couple reasons why I feel this way: For one, compared to the rest of the playable characters, her main weapon requires you to be closer to the opponent, similar to Zero in the X and Zero games, which means you may end up taking unnecessary damage. While, yes, she can use all the weapons like the other playable characters... I don't feel like her playstyle fits the Classic Mega Man gameplay. The other problem I have is her Roll dodge. While, yes, it is effective against enemies, there is a pause period after you perform it, meaning you cannot do it consecutively. This, in my opinion, makes her feel slower compared to Mega Man/Proto Man with their slide and Bass with his dash (ESPECIALLY Bass). Now, I'm keeping in mind that this is just the first day of 1.7, and that I'll eventually get used to her playstyle overtime. I love the idea that she's finally in Mega Man Maker (and her sprite work is super adorable) alongside her brothers, and the concept behind her playstyle is very similar to Zero, but... my initial thoughts make me feel like she's a little... out of place.
My one problem with her is that she doesnt do enough damage. She feels way less fun to play as than Mega Man,Proto Man and Bass. The Mega Man Zero gameplay works because Zero does a lot of damage, with Roll the slash just feels dissatysfying.
Bubble Man:WAAHHH WAAAHHH WAAAAHHH *death cause of crushed by Mr X block* Splash Woman:I will kill you for sure!!!! *death cause of her attacks hit herself cause of roll activates Fox Reflector*
