Man thank you!! I’ve been chasing a leak for months. I’ve changed the Cowling and chased the sunroof drains to no avail. Saw your video and sure enough popped off the ac drain hose and out came a bunch of water! Fished it with some wire and it’s draining fine now. Now its time to work on re-gluing the head liner as all the moisture in the car caused it to sag.

Cant thank you enough! Range Rover Sport 2006. Had this issue since just this past weekend. I'm traveling back home today & checking that hose tomorrow. The carpet is absolutely drenched! Thanks again!!!

Thanks for posting this video! I was looking for the ac drain hose underneath my LR4 but I could not find it easily. Fortunately, I came across your video. I now know where to find the ac drain hose inside the vehicle on the passenger foot well side. It's actually relatively easy to access thanks to your video. I needed to access the ac drain hose so that I could access the evaporator for cleaning. Thanks again. Cheers!

Just came across this as I was searching for other LR3 issues. I also have...had the wet floor board. The water ,like you also saw ,accumulated in the area of that wiring harness. I was chasing a nuisance suspension error and it was related to one of the connectors that was getting wet and corroded. I resoldered the connection and all is good. For good measure i also drilled a 1/4 inch drain hole in the lowest point where that harness runs...tested by poring a gallon of water in that channel....it all ran out the hole and under the truck. The edge of the drilled hole was sealed with paint for corrosion protection. Good video !

@@ERAWilderRealtyCarolinas look along the floor board channel on the passenger side . Its under the trim on the threshold. I had the front seat out and carpet all pulled away. Sure enough, the wring was damp and there was a bad connection. Re soldered it and did what i said above and all is well.

Did you have any other issues like transmission fault or suspension fault, i know that behind the battery is where the transfer case module is located is know to get water in it and corrosion starts which can give you faults as well as the wires in door kick panel
@joeshipman
@joeshipman Год назад
If the batter gets low or like you said corrosion builds the LR3 is notorious for giving those faults. First time it happened I thought, this is it, she's toast! :) Fortunately, mine was a loosened battery cable. I still have that LR3 but moved on to an LR4 as my daily driver. I still have not figured out the height control module. It will let me go up but not down. If I speed up, it will automatically lower. I have not got water through the sun roof but my driver side seat stopped working in one direction. After soaking it with some electrical cleaner (1 year after the issue started) it now works fine. So, perhaps I should do that with the switch as well.

Thanks Joe! we bought an LR3 about 5 weeks ago, just saw the wet carpet (also weirdly, when you got round a tight corner the fan makes a squeaking noise the tighter the corner the louder the squeak - actually when I released the pipe a lot of water came out, maybe 4 cupfuls, so maybe it was water sloshing into the fan??) I don't have an airline so used a bit of coat hanger wire shoved down the rubber pipe to clear it, it only went down about 7 inches then hit something hard, I am guessing a heat shield or something. Hope this fixes it for a while. I live in Dubai, its still 45-50 degrees so the carpets will dry quickly!
@joeshipman
@joeshipman 3 года назад
I had this problem several years ago but it returned just the other day and I noticed it because I heard the sloshing. As far as the squeaking when using the air conditioning at lower levels that seems to be a pretty common LR 3 problem. Mine has done it for years and I've been in other LR threes that seem to have the same thing. If I use the AC @ greater then two levels it's not very noticeable but sounds awful below that.
@ProducerCliff

@@joeshipman The fan is making a terrible noise now, I guess the water ingress screwed up the motor bearings. I might try and lubricate it but I think I'm going to be looking for a used fan.

Hello! question…did you experience any issues with your AC not cooling when this happened? I’m also in Texas and have been trying to track down issues with my AC as it blows cold “most” of the time, then randomly blows hot. I have now experienced the pooling of water on my passenger side, so I’m curious if you had any AC issues before you cleaned out the AC drain. Thanks!
@joeshipman

You know I didn't think about it at the time but my compressor was kicking on a lot then.I had to add just a little Freon and it's been great since then.

Hi, I know this is now a little old. I have the water issue and just (hopefully) unclogged the drain. However my keyless entry doesn’t work so assume it’s the wire. Can you tell me how to get to the wires down the side please? There’s a plastic plate over the top. Thanks Duncan
@douglasraine4143
@douglasraine4143 4 года назад
I think the plastic cover just has those snap clips that you pull up. So, everything kind of pops out as you pull it up. The clips are super cheap if you have to replace. I think I bought 100 of 5 different types (20 each) for $7 on Amazon. Anyway, finding the wire in the rats nest of wires is the most challenging part as there are a lot of wires but I bet that is where your problem is.
@duncanjbrown
@duncanjbrown 4 года назад
Douglas Raine thanks Douglas. Do you know if there are any videos on how to fix the wire for the key charging? I had a lot of water down the side and keys no longer work (I’ve changed the batteries and still didn’t work). Any advice would be appreciated please.

Hi there, I have a similar problem on my rrs, you mention the green and white wire you found was spliced, this seams to be the common issue with remote locking, however I couldn’t find the splice in that wire, can you remember which of the three taped up parts of the loom it was in amongst. Also my car is uk model so just wondering if it’s at the opposite side of vehicle
@joeshipman
@joeshipman 5 лет назад
If I remember right it's right in the middle of the passenger side. There's a big cluster of wires and it's pretty hard to find. I think mine was completely severed which made it a little easier.

Actually, it is not the sunroof drains. That was the purpose of this video as most information on the web pointed to sunroof drains. This was due to the AC drain plug being clogged.
