I recall doing this once as a child. A lot smaller but I distinctly remembering people falling onto other people and perverts having a field day. Urine was abundant and the experience was gross. Only did it once and just stuck to the water slides. Never again.

Was in a popular wave pool in Galveston Texas. My people were pushed together and there was blood in the water. I had my kids with me both excellent swimmers. My daughter was 20 at the time and I lost sight of her. A man was holding her under water b cause she was the closest thing he could hang onto . I had to physically hit him in face to get him off of my daughter. There were Life guards every few feet but try to alert one in a sea of inner tubes and hundreds of people crashing into each other and it is a formula for a disaster.

This is a lot safer than the artifical wave maker at the waterpark I went to growing up. No one wore life vests, you just had a tube that you sat on but even those weren't required. I remember diving under a few people to get closer to my brother, but I almost drowned because all the tubes were so close together that there was no room to get above water. I don't even know how a lifeguard spotted me in that endless crowd and helped me out of there but I owe that man my life.

How cool! I was even able to spot my best friend. He's the one towards the middle wearing an orange lifejacket and has dark hair. You can see him, right?!?!

Having worked as a lifeguard (and trained lifeguards) and swimming coach for years, there is probably no way a person could be saved if they lost their life jacket and didn't know how to swim.

Was at a wave pool once, damn near drowned because I was knocked off a floaty, it was about 15 ft deep and I was 4'9 and couldn't stay afloat due to the waves, so despite wanting to panic, I sank myself then pushed off and got air, then did it over and over until I could grab onto someone's floaty, I apologized to them and said I couldn't swim due to the waves, they shrugged me off and I went back to bopping from the bottom to the top for air after I had gotten a breather, and got to safety, I was so thankful that despite every fiber of my being wanted to panic, I wanted to survive more, and made it out, no one could see me due to the people, I would've drowned if I had panicked, thankfully didn't but that trick is a life saver for sure.

Reminds me of the nuclear sugar pop breakfast cereal as a child while pouring the milk on.

I can think of nothing worse than being in that pool with hundreds of people !!
