How about a little food coloring in the water? Maybe we can see the gloss better. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

I got some blue food coloring from the baking cabinet. I'll try testing with it and see what it looks like.

Question for your Jake. Alot of these machines have a fixed output from the turbine and also a bleeder port to protect the turbine from excess backpressure. When you refer to psi, do you mean the psi (sealed pressure) of the machine, or referring to actual psi at the gun with trigger pulled? I use a 6 stage home built turbine that i attached a diy pressure guage at the gun. Without the trigger pulled i get anout 9.5 to 10 psi on the gauge...but with the trigger pulled (full fluid/fan) i get a resding of about 6 psi on both my apollo and avanti gun. I know the apollo machines have their own internal microprocessors to speed up or slow down the turbine without need for a bleeder port. Thanks again for sharing all your knowledge....keep the videos coming. You are the only person on youtube sharing this type of quality turbine related content

When I'm referring to the psi, I'm referring to the flow pressure as stated on the LCD screen. There is a difference in air consumption of about 3psi consumption with the Avanti and 1psi consumption with the Apollo spray gun. I tested the flow pressure of both spray guns by observing the pressure drop with the fixed flow pressure of the Avanti 5 stage. It's around 8.5psi when the air bleed occurs and then, each spray gun will show a different drop in psi when the trigger is pulled. The Avanti 5 stage has a second bypass port with a spring loaded ball bearing that releases additional air bypass with an adjustable threaded insert. I monkeyed with it and could get the psi to rise higher. The Avanti sealed pressure rating is in the 9psi plus range from the advertisement, and also my air gauge testing. The Apollo M3000 is true to their psi rating when I tested it at 10psi with each of the spray guns trigger's pulled, and without either of the spray gun's trigger pulled. There is also a difference in the flow designs of the spray guns if you look close, the Avanti air ports to air horn are less restricted with their design when compared to Apollo's air flow to air horn design. Each design has their own intentions, I note that the Apollo spray gun is more air conservative. I can concur you should be getting around a 3psi drop with the Avanti spray gun attached to your machine. However, if you wanted to add a bypass port it would be very easy to do, with a drilled fitting to the nose of your turbine's front thread attachment point.
