Hi,I'm Koen from the Netherlands. Just propagated my first monsteras this july and gave away all the new plants to my brother and sisters.. very cool to see all the updates! Keep on going!
Hey! I'm Kelly from the Netherlands, absolutely love these type of video's made over a longer period of time. So we can immediately see the difference in growth 🥰
Hey Roos i am Marion from Holland. I watch your videos for a couple of years. So much fun and tips and tricks i can use. Also liked the costa rica videos. Thank you for all
I am from Indonesia very happy to watch your RU-vid channel full of inspiration and I am gaining knowledge about ornamental plants that are popular in your country, thank you Miss for the information
Heey, I’m Kim from the Netherlands. I’m a new subscriber and already love your videos! For years I have been searching for a Monstera Variegata cutting but everytime I find it it’s gone in a blink of an eye. It’s one of my favorite plants and would be of a great company to all my other ones! Also thanks to you I learned how to propagate and my cuttings are growing!!!
Hello :) i started watching your video trying to learn the care for my Alocasia and here i'am at 1am still watching your content ! Keep up the good work Thomas from France
Very awesome to be able to see the plants growth updates all in the same video. You don't see many that do that, so it's nice ! Beautiful plants ! I could never afford this plant, but recently found someone offering a cutting that had a total of 5 nodes and 5 leaves that had decent variegated but nothing crazy, which i prefer right now since i know how it goes with the amount of white and the more white ya have, the more light it needs to grow, so i feel i finally lucked out and jumped on the offer ! I chopped away and now I'm hoping for some root growth in water and some in moss ! It's only been a few days but my fingers are crossed ! This video is keeping me optimistic so thank you again !! 😊
That's so cool congrats! Prices have dropped a lot finally 🙌 I hope they grow well for you! And PS Sean did it first, I saw his videos with updates and loved them so much that I also started doing them. He has many more! His channel is Only Plants
@plantwithroos I'll definitely check his content out! Thanks for the good vibes! I checked the cutting I have in water yesterday, and I have 2 growth points !!! Eeeeeeee !!!!! I'm so excited !!!!
rooos, i am Lucian and i'm from the netherlands and i love your videos! i am learning a lot from them as well! And this propagation journey was such a treat! love the cuttings!😍🤞🏼
Hey Roos, Swetlana from Germany here 👋 I’ve found your channel a while ago, when I was looking for some tips on pest treatment. Your videos where really helpful, many thanks for that. 😊And thank you for the chance to win one of your beautiful plants. Good luck to everyone ❤
Hi Roos, I love watching your video's from the plants but also the gardencentres (and a bit jealous of the plants in the garden centres in your neighbourhood 😀). Once again so kind of you to share your love of plants. Karen from the Netherlands
Hello Roos You have very nice plants, and I've just ran across your videos last night and stayed up watching everyone .. I'm from the USA, North Carolina. The giveaway you are doing is so kind-hearted...
Been following your journey with your Monstera variagata and I can see that it's grown quickly with you. I heard others say it's a slow grower! I like your videos. Cheers Soufiane - NL
So many beautiful monsteras 😍 I really love the mint color in the leaves. My name is Svenja and I live in Germany and I would be so very happy about this absolut beauty!
Thank you so much! I have a monstera cutting that hasn’t grown any new roots yet (the aerial root is VERY short) and I haven’t had it for very long but I was almost ready to give up on it. This video really helped me to put into perspective just how patient you have to be and also some things I’ll have to look out for!
Hoi Roos, it's been around two years since I've started watching your videos, it's really great to see how others overcome struggles of mine and I enjoy the way you talk about plants :) I moved to the Netherlands for my study and must say the plant market is on a different level than in Germany, my collection exploded through prop swaps, Marktplaats and baby plants from intratuin, which bring so much joy. Thank you for not using plants as an investment but to spread joy and knowledge. Groetjes, Tabea
I have an 2 year old Albo Monstera that’s getting too tall for it’s moss pole, I think it’s time to start propagating mine. I’m absolutely terrified I’m going to ruin the mother plant or my cuttings will die 😭 thank you for the video, it’s eased my anxieties a bit!
It is honestly so fun! I totally get the scared part but enjoy it! I am actually doing it again haha - my half moon monstera stopped being half moon so I was gonna sell it but I've decided to keep her and chop and prop first, make another video then sell the cuttings after a while
Hi Roos. Ik volg je nu al een tijdje op Instagram en RU-vid en wat geniet ik van jou content en wat kan ik er veel van leren. De winkel tours zijn favoriet om naar te kijken. Groetjes van Janneke uit Nederland
Hi Roos, thank you so much for this giveaway and all your awesome videos. I am watching you for almost three years and you got me into hoyas. ❤ Jenny from Germany
Hi, Isabelle uit Nederland. Had je nog niet ontdekt op RU-vid maar yeaah wat leuk om dit te zien. En deze giveaway is natuurlijk te leuk om aan mee te doen.
Hi my name is Eduard I’ve been new to plants since September I have 23 plants in my home and I live in Germany in spelle its in the state Niedersachsen
Great video! Just curious, I have 2 middle cuttings, and when I water prop am I supposed to keep the top part of the calloused cutting out of the water. Or do I just drop the whole “node section” in water like with a top cutting?
Hello! Love your video with all of the growth updates! My question for you is, do you use silica or any specific fertilizer to keep your white part of your leaves white? Thank you!
Hi I’m Tina from Sweden. I love your videos and especially this one since I don’t have to wait for the updates as a do for my newly shoppes monstera Thai constellation at home😂🥲🪴 keep doing what your doing🤗❤️
Wat een leuk filplmpje! En die planten!!! Geweldig. Is mijn lievelingsplant... 8maanden te laat voor de give away😢😢😅 maarrr, komt er nog een giveaway?😊
They're becoming so affordable here! Where are you based? I saw friends in the US finding them at grocery stores for 40 dollars and here in Europe prices are similar
Nice to see water propagation worked out for you! I definitely feel the same about the heat wave, my plants have put out a ton of new leafs over the summer :) I'd love to take part in the giveaway, I'm Joost from the Netherlands
Fantastic! Would love to win! Love your videos. I got really into plants since I moved to my house three years ago where I get lots of natural light. Love seeing videos of a fellow Dutchie, who knows what's available here and where to go. Lots of love, also to Maggie and Mickey 🐱Lucy from the Netherlands
I have a monstera plant that is about 3 feet tall. I watched your video and I am so scared to chop mine. My question is will all those cuttings become whole new plants ?
I know this video is about a year old but in case you see this...I was sold a top cut without an arial root. Is it for sure going to die? It does have a growth node, what is the best way to try to prop it?
it's not for sure going to die! definitely try it - it might work. they often grow new roots from the stem, doesnt need an aerial root. if it has a lot of leaves or a few big leaves you might want to cut part of them off, so that the plant doesn't spend all it's energy on the leaves but instead on making new roots. The best way is up to you, some people swear by moss or flavum or something, black stuff like semi hydro. i would use water: just a small amount at the stem, preferably a narrow vessel. The cutting has to produce a rooting hormone in the water, enough so that it can start to root. if it's a huge vase of water, that takes much more energy than a small amount of water. I hope that helps! good luck (and let me know how it goes! - in a new comment cos i don't see further responses, but i do see new comments also on old videos ;) x
@plantwithroos It took about two months and lots of me worrying, but it finally pushed out a tiny little root from a growth point under the stem. Wow!! Thank you for the encouragement to try! It looked like just a leaf cutting and I didn't think it would grow. Plants are amazing :-)
This was so educational thank you for making this video!! I’ve been avoiding taking any cuttings but this made me confident I can do it😍 what soil mix are you using? Trying to figure out how much bark I should be using with soil
Hello no there are no waiting lists, that's just not doable. I'm not a shop, whenever I sell something it will be on my instagram stories, blind auction. And no I can't ship outside of the EU, that would need documents that I can't make/get.
Hi, I am Amanda from USA in Mississippi. Your so generous for doing a giveaway. Your plants are so beautiful. Love watching your channel in my off time
Ooh zo tof! Wishlist plant ❤️ Rianne uit Nederland hier! Ik doe graag mee. Ik volg je reels sinds een paar maanden, zo leuk om een tof Nederlands account gevonden te hebben over planten 😍
Hiii, Simone from the Netherlands 👋🏻 I only just discovered your instagram and RU-vid and am immediately hooked by how informative your videos are. You explain the methods of propagating very clearly and now I feel it is something I could do myself too! One question: can you propagate Monstera in autumn/winter too or is it better to wait til spring when daylight increases again?
Thanks so much! You could cut now but it helps for rooting that it's warm. So a warm spot or heat mat would help. In general I try not to chop in fall/winter, I will wait till spring. unless it's really needed and then I just do it in the cold season!
Hi mdm, can I check my monstera albo had a full white leaf and now it is browning off and I guess it will continue to brown off fully. Should I prune away the white leave till the stalk head or I just leave it be ? The next leaf coming out is quite variegated. So I think no need to cut the stem area. This white leaf is currently the top leaf of the plant
Just leave the white leaf, it will likely brown fully. I'd wait it out for the next few leaves - only when it's been 3 full variegated leaves I would chop the plant back to activate a new growth point. Good luck!
@plantwithroos thanks for the prompt reply ! I have checked the next growth lead. It is partially variegated. But the leaf have not shoot out from the top leaf yet.. if brown fully. Even the stem of the leaf will brown all the way to the main stem. But it will not effect the main stem right ?
The browning should not affect the stem but keep an eye on it - I'd wait it out cos even if the new leaf also becomes brown then you can cut the stem and have a new growth point. If the new growth is also browning already, check for thrips 👀☠️
Hi Mdm. Just want to ask also, my variegated albo, I trimmed of the brown edges. But the next day, I notice the brown will continue to spread. Any remedies?
Heya I’m Laura from Ireland but have been living in the Netherlands for the past few years! I really got into houseplants during lockdown where my first ever plant that I bought was a monstera :) Unfortunately I had to leave her behind when I moved over here but this didn’t stop me from my studio being overrun…(who knew that Albert heijn has a great plant selection at times??) Anyways, thank you for all the great content and I must take a visit to the Leidens botanical gardens soon ! :))
Ya I know that it's price is dropping I am in Alberta, Canada and for a one leaf node cutting is still $150 which is out rages especially when I'm on disability and I don't get a whole lot of money. I would really like to get the Aura or the thia consolidation. We'll see if they ever get low enough for me to get one.
Hi Roos! I lovelovelove your Global Garden Zwaanshoek videos! You inspired me to pay that place a visit, and im totally sold! Loved it! 😍 Can't wait for the next plant shop tour from that place :) And needless to say, im entering your giveaway! Groetjes, Lisa from the Netherlands 👋
That's so cool! I haven't been in a long time, since they told me they're not gonna focus on special plants anymore. About time to check them out again, I'll go soon! Thanks and good luck!
This is the first plant video I watched and feel so relaxed now. Love your give away and would like to participate. My name is Marieke and I am from the Netherlands.
Hi Roos, I'm Aga from Poland but I'm not taking part in giveaway 😉 I'll buy myself this monstera from my local plant community once the prices go down a bit but I think it's very generous of you to organize this giveaway, especially for those who may not be able to afford it 🙂👍
Hi Roos! I really loved this video, thanks for sharing!! Also VERY impatient and you showing that patience goes a long way with water propagation and rotting 💚 that helps! I’m Alyssa from the Netherlands and would really love to enter the giveaway! 🪴🤍 Ps. Your snippety snip song is truly awesome 😄🎶 loved it!
