Great video, easy to follow along. Well explained, steady camera, good lighting. You guys really make the job look easy. Wasn't looking forward to tackling my 06 F150. But I have more confidence now. Thank You!

Thank you very much for this video, it helped me gain the confidence on changing the pump on my 5.4 32v, even though I already knew how to change it.

"You can't see it, but it's definitely down there behind this cross member. Anyways we're not going to actually replace the part, just show roughly where it is and oops I dropped my phone"

I just have a small coolant seep, but I'm just gonna do a whole new water pump, fan clutch, cooling fan blade, radiator drain plug, and thermostat, and new upper and lower radiator hose and new coolant reservoir, so it's fixed fixed that's what I would personally do. I might as well do a new Radiator while I'm at it.

Any ideas where these usually break ! ? Iv got a 06 with 155k. Domt want to break down on the side do the highway I did notice some belt squeak last winter that was strange but it’s gone now in summer and after winter. If I go in and do pulleys and belt which I did a few back at 90k I feel like it be the best time to do water pump and fan clutch LOL. Of course

so when the parts places ask whether i need a 30mm pump or a 36mm pump are they meaning the thread size on the pump shaft or are they talking about the wrench size needed to remove the clutch?

Anybody know if I can just take off the fan pulley and water pump all at once by removing the water pump? My fan clutch bolt is completely stuck and it's being a mother to remove.

Why wouldn't you use a large crescent wrench with a soft blow hammer to break the fan free?
@LemurMonitors
@LemurMonitors 3 года назад
That'll work if you have something that big lying around (36mm), but you may still need something to keep the water pump pulley still depending on how stubborn it is

If you're drained dry the 4.6 takes about 18.6L or 20.7 qt of coolant

Do you guys have a part number for that water pump?
@LemurMonitors
@LemurMonitors 2 года назад
Quickest way to get the proper part number may be to call a parts department at a dealership and ask what the actually part number is for your year vehicle!
