This Guy ! You are my guy and I subscribed. I am in Houston TX, not sure where you are from. I was the second buyer from new and it has a Depure Water softener and under sink RO and yes all parts and service from them. Well the Dupure Water Softener finally failed though I think it never really worked for 5 years. Still buying expensive blue filters on the RO under sink. Well done. Inspectedthe Dupure system and now the head is dead after 15 yrs. Water softener dead. Had the same Dupure experience. I need a new external water system for a 4 people home. A New RO under sink system. Hard Texas water. Does anyone have any recommendations ?

My softener, WHES44 , makes soft water but the scale seems like it still builds up. It's been about 9 months now and I thought it would start to clean up or get rid of lime-like scaling by now. Is it defective? thanks
@tonyhwang3888
@tonyhwang3888 Год назад
Real water softener lowers the water hardness measured by GPG(grain per gallon). Others are conditioners which does not lower the hardness. We have a RO system for drinking/cooking water as well as have salt based water softener. If softener is correctly installed and set up there is no concern for residual trace salt in the water.

Hi and thanks, it is kinda hard to get info on water systems, I have a system with the blue tank pre filter I change often, my well has iron in it, it also has four tanks, and a hydrogen peroxide tank, I have no idea what they do exactly. And lastly I have a R?O system for drinking water. Maybe one day you can cover a system like this? It was Kwater and it was just over 7 grand installed.

@ThisGuyProductions

No, not in the front yard at least. The water main runs to my front spigot first, then the water softener loop. It would be cool if it was cause I would be able to use soft water to wash my car.

@ThisGuyProductions
@ThisGuyProductions 2 года назад
Hey Armando. Dual media tanks are a budget friendly option. Just keep in mind that carbon media is supposed to be replaced periodically. The large carbon tanks I featured needs new carbon media swapped in every 10 years or 1 million gallons.

I have a Water King Whole house filter, Nuvo Manor Duo, salt-free softener and GE whole house filter. I got them on a good deal and thinking about installing all 3 on the same system. Is combining ok to do l, or what should I be aware of when combining different systems? What order configuration should I use? I'm city municipal. Should I eliminate any of these from the system, or add anything to the system? Again, not installed as yet. Thanks.
@waldrobfarms3946
@waldrobfarms3946 Год назад
Update. I installed all 3 system this week. I get a total of 10 psi drop across all 3, which is not a problem since I increased my pressure to 80 psi to accommodate. So overall I get 70 psi flow through my pipes with three systems installed. Only thing worth mentioning though is the pressure drops even more when more than one faucet is being used, but I think this is because the waterking filter is for 3 bedroom (@15 gpm) and I have a 5 bedroom home which waterking recommends their 20gpm filter.

Hi bro, I am looking to buy and I have Genisis upflow 2in 1 price is around 1360 and spring well combo (not 2in 1) giving for 2000. Definitely long term spring well resin has 20yrs life. But god knows if I will stay in this house that much time. So what do you recommend

I am biased to SpringWell because it has been an amazing investment. To be transparent they hired me to make all their installation videos as well. How much is the monthly cost of the salt used by the water softener? Would a sediment filter, whole house water filter, and a whole house water conditioner accomplish the same thing but without the monthly cost of the salt?
@ThisGuyProductions
@ThisGuyProductions 2 года назад
Hey Mike, We use about 1.5 50lb bags of salt a month. We have a family of 4 and 4 bathrooms. We go through lots of water and this system is very efficient. We have the larger scaled system listed as CSS4. There is a smaller more cost effective system, but it isnt as efficient as the larger one. The salt free system is fantastic because it removes the maintenance piece but it lacks the slippery feel of salt based systems. Ultimately, my wife and I missed that. Also, our laundry and hair was much softer after using salt based system.

Does ur new system use less salt? Does it require a drain? How to maintain it after installing?
@ThisGuyProductions
@ThisGuyProductions 3 года назад
Yes, it technically does use less salt because the system is functioning correctly. The system I pulled out was regenerating almost every day so I was going through 2 (40lb) bags a month. The new system will regen about every 1750 gallons now which is almost 1.5 times a week. The system does require a drain, but it comes with a 50ft drain line. This means you can route the drain out of your installation area if you dont have a drain nearby. As for maintenance. The resin itself in the tank needs nothing. If you use good quality salt pellets you shouldn't get mush residue in the brine tank. Worst case scenario you can dump it out every few years to hose it out. Besides that the salt system is bullet proof. If you go with a Carbon filter you will need to replace the carbon every 10 years or 1 million gallons. If you go with the pre-sediment-filter you need to replace them between 6 months to 1 year apart. They cost $70 for a 2pack of filters. Hope this helps.

@@ThisGuyProductions thank you, very useful information. Right now I only have a 3M descaler cartridge on my on demand electric heater. I also have a sedimate filter and a small coconut shell carbon 10". I may copy your setup but use my own 20" carbon coconut filter. I'm still thinking about a system.

@@ThisGuyProductions I have a 27k eco. I installed myself. Just need to unscrew the elements to descsle every 6 months with vinegar. I also heat with oil, so I love in the summer I can hit the off switch on my oil system and easily turn off my on demand as well if needed and I pay $0 in service fees. The on demand uses 6 slots for 3x 40 amp breakers, so that is another thing for most to consider. I have 200 amp service and a very large panel. Hot water output is reduced from 3/4 to 1/2:as well. It really is unlimited hot water. I had it 3 years now. Maybe after 4 years ill buy some new elements.

Spring Well is over priced so I am looking at other brands
@absoluteloyalty9033

Be careful of this review. The guy sells the stuff he's reviewing so his review obviously will be biased. First, it's been proven that water descalers don't work. Water conditioners do work but they are not as effective as water softeners. Finally, he's promoting SpringWell softeners but he doesn't compare it to many of the other brands on the market.
@ThisGuyProductions
@ThisGuyProductions 2 года назад
Hey Absoluteloyalty I appreciate you calling the BS meter as there is a lot of bias online. Yes, I am biased to SpringWell. Their product has been fantastic and their customer service is amazing. They also dont try to rip me off like DePure did with my original system. I was overcharged and their system failed catastrophically. When I called them to inquire about my lifetime warranty they basically told me to take a hike. So, yes. I have tested a DePure system for many years and was sadly dissapointed. The SpringWell system is like a dream. To all my viewers, I encourage you to shop around. At the end of the day a water softener is just a water softener. However, customer service is paramount to me.
@Jasonfalknor
@Jasonfalknor Год назад
As someone who installs these, you should know there is no one system that fits all. There is a reason why most don’t post prices on their website is because there several factors that determine the sizing, the type of media, etc. This video seems self serving and doesn’t help the overall industry. The goal for any water treatment company should be to educate the customer on what’s in their water and how to get rid of it. Of course there are a few bad apples out there but not all water treatment companies are out to get it you. Stop making it look like water treatment companies are JUST trying to make money. This video is self serving at best.
