I have learned that stories that end with "I should know, I done it before." should be told only to people that you can take verbal jousting from. I like your vids, keep them comming and take care. thanx
As always love your videos. I love the dishwashers hose idea. I have a two hundred gallon water tank that sits on its own trailer. We bought it off a neighboring farm for super cheap. I use the quad to tow it around the yard to water little trees and the garden it works super slick. The only problem is that the garden hose that I am using always kinks on me, so that dishwasher hose idea sounds just perfect. Thanks so much.

Awesome setup on the water tank setup! I'll bet you could handle 200 acres pretty easily. You have proven that you know how to make the land produce, anything over 10 acres is icing on the cake and would more than likely pay for itself. However, smaller farms or a heck of lot easier to payoff. I subsribe to the theory of eat all you can and sell the rest. Take Care, John
Great info as always. I love your set up. I especially love seeing your garden. You certainly have a green thumb! I'm always inspired when I see your videos.
sigh.... I guess getting a golf cart for my little raised beds would be a bit overkill huh? :-) Happy Spring!!! Reading all the comments. Yes! maybe someday we'll all have our own bit o' the country like Web Cajun! Even the cats n' dogs get along over there! loll :-)
Well we are a week away from planting here in Kansas. We still get freak frost here in March. The wild onions in the yard are already coming up so I think I will put the onion sets out. Anyone who wonders about watering... If you have sandy soil like I do then water once a day and when it reaches above 90 then 2 times a day. My soil is the kind that never has a puddle after getting 3 days of heavy rain.
@fiddlestix2006 ...You're not the first to say my videos are relaxing. Just the other day a lady emailed and said her 2 year old falls to sleep after watching a couple of minutes of my videos. Not sure if that's a good thing. LOL...Donald
Its too bad you and Justin Wilson were a generation apart Donald,You two guys wudda made a pair! Keep the good videos coming,You cuda growed, and he cuda cooked.....But I have a feelin you,re prob. not a a bad cook either.
@blackpowderbill ...That 26 gal. tank goes a long way when putting water out just where you need it. Pays for itself in no time and you can use it for spraying also......Donald
@wsarris424 ...That's what I said in the video, if you can get 2 tanks. After posting the video to RU-vid the first one to guess "cetarro" got at 113......Donald
@gardenvespers777 LOL i have little beds too, but if I had a big spread like he does that watering rig would be great. Wonder how much a golf cart is? lol
yes, as always I enjoyed and it was very helpful. Geez, I just LOVE your videos, and what a great setup u have there. Looks like u have your own little chunk of heaven. Has anyone ever told u that u favor the actor Wilford Brumley, which is a compliment, by the way. :):) PLEASE continue making videos, cause no matter how stupid this sounds, I find them to be very relaxing and a great stress buster, to lose myself in the laid back country atmosphere. Thanks again for all u do, sir. God bless
hey i bet if you set up some drums under the rain gutters around your building you could catch a couple hundred gallons easily. best part is its free water! i only have a 65 gal container and it overflowed during one thunderstorm. it goes a long way in my garden.
Donald, I like the water tank idea, will use it this year. The hose you use looks an a lot like a CPAP hose. I've got a few old ones laying around, think I'll use them instead of throwing them out. Love the videos.
+Tim Hammerlund CPAP it is. Slip it over the drain spout and install a clamp, fits like it was made for it. Woks great. Glad you enjoy the videos.....Donald
@DesertDigger1 ...back in the 70s I live not far down the road from Justin Wilson. Never met the man but I'm sure we would have gotten along just fine.....Donald
That's a great idea with the tank. Have you considered getting an additional tank so you don't have to take so much time cleaning out that one? By the way, who won the contest for the okra seeds?
@OS253 yes, me too, and I don't understand why people want all the material things. My old house ain't much, and everythinb but bedding came from garage sales. Peopl have made snide remarks about my lifestyle, but while they're out working 16 hour days and humping it to pay for their toys, I'm sitting her with ZERO debt, other than monthly utilties etc, so they can laff if they want to Yes, 200 acres would be nice, but about 10 is all I could handle. :):)
I'm 13 years old and have a garden of 3 acres. I use 2 50 gallon drums that had diesel fluid starter in it. I put a nozzle for a hose and bought a hose and cut it for my water system
Lots of work but it would certainly pay off. Check your local laws before you start, wouldn’t want to go to jail for something like that. Drilling your own well on your own property can be a crime these days…..Donald
@fiddlestix2006 : I will trade a mini McMansions for a simple life in the country side. I don't need a fancy house or car. I just want 200 acres of land and a small house in the woods. Privacy is very important to me. It's my dream to live an easy, carefree life and growing my own food like WebCajun. I don't care about the money. I care about my happiness.
