Your work is so amazing. Definitely love it. Watching you paint makes me want to try it myself:)) Can it be too difficult for a newbie like me ? :) Can you tell me what type of paper you've used and at the beginning you just wetted the paper with water, right ? Sorry if my questions are so stupid
Hi Hali🤗Thank you so much! you should definitely try it and this painting is perfect for beginners. There's an option under youtube setting where you can adjust the speed of this video. This way you can slow it down enough to follow :) I highly recommend to only use a professional grade watercolor paper and stay away from student papers. (I used Arches Hot Pressed 140lb) It's a huge difference... because when you are first starting out it's super easy to get discouraged when you use a cheap paper... the water won't absorb properly, the pigment will take forever to settle, the pigment will look faded, paper will warp, buckle etc.. also try to lay your watercolor paper on a glass, so from water and paint the paper will stick to it :) just a hint!
Wow such a beutiful art !! i'm really love it!! 😍😍🤗🤗 Uhm.. may i ask? You used uthrecht gouche for add more light and blend, but i dont have it. So can white acrylic do the same too ?
Hi, I haven't tried mixing watercolor with any other media such as acrylics, from my experience acrylics dry super fast but I don't know that much about it.The white gouache I used is basically an opaque watercolor. It's called Designer's Gouache and the color is: Permanent white
You can mix acrylic paint with water, it will have a similar structere as water color and is working as well. I (J-)hope my comment will help you. A.R.M.Y here. ;)
Hello Maria! I just love watching you paint. I paint sometimes too but I just use the regular old Crayola watercolor paints and cheap paper. I was wondering where you purchase some of your materials? What brand do you typically go for?
Hi Hannah, thank you so much :) Happy to hear this! if you don't mind emailing me at maria@loveoriginals.com for all the brands names and where to buy. thank you!

My goodness... i could spend the whole night watching you painting!!! The talent Jehovah gave you is absolutly unbelieveable!!!! Thank you so much for using it and sharing it!!!
Thank you :) The white you see that''s White Gouache, it's just like watercolor it dilutes with water, but watercolor is transparent and gouache is opaque.
Can you suggest an alternative for Holbein watercolor? As it's very expensive in my country and many watercolor sets that I'm coming across aren't providing pthalo blue and indigo, what should I do about it? Your paintings are really beautiful!
Winsor & Newton Cotman Water Color Pocket plus Set of 24 Half Pan is somewhat affordable but I don't know if they'll have indigo and pthalo blue in this set
Hi Arsheeeya :) I started with Winsor and Newton and they are quite good when you are first starting out, they do have Indigo and Phthalo blue, in fact they have most of the colors they just use different names :))
Hey! :) Ok thanks :) and also, I wanted to ask if I can use acrylic white paint instead of gouache white because again, the gouache white from winsor and Newton is hella expensive
I think we've run out of space to send you a note. I really want to share with you that I have never painted (except with "dollar acrylics" on Christmas packages... and kids walls). Because of a friend's urging, after many years, I picked up my husband's old paints and brushes. He painting decoys and did some beautiful work. I have learned everything I can do on youtube - with YOUR PAINTINGS. I LOVE WATCHING OVER AND OVER -and this is how I'm learning. I really enjoy your paintings and thank you so much. Please keep painting and include me as a subscriber ... Grateful in Nominibay - VA
Hi, I currently paint with Holbein watercolors but this is an older video, I think in this painting Cotman mostly with some Windsor and Newton thank you!
Hi, timing is really important in watercolors... my previous layers are sometimes not as wet and I also go very lightly over the surface, don't give up, it all takes practice :))
I really like your paintings, they're very inspiring to a student of art like me. :-) Listing the watercolor paint brand/colors would be a great help, thanks for all your work!
Hi :) thank you! That's wonderful to hear! I've been getting more and more requests this past week about listing the colors and brushes so I'm getting on it! I appreciate all the comments, it helps me improve my videos :) thanks again for the lovely comment!
Hi Stephen, that's interesting what you saying.. yea maybe.. this is one of my older paintings from last year, actually one of my first ones posted to my YT channel :) You know when you paint on Hot Pressed 300lb (not the regular 140lb) it does have tiny bit of some sort of texture, almost like a sand paper feel to it..
bonsoir Maria, alors la!!! votre peinture , c est une beautee!!! et un ciel!!!!!! comme je les aiment, c est magnifique, Maria!!!!!sans etre indiscrete , vous avez fait les beaux arts!!
love it!♥,i was a student in collage of art and design and i was looking for a videos that teach me how to draw sky by water colors and i really like your video and the colors you use in this one so i want to ask you can i draw this one and post it in my twitter? ♥♥ !if it's not ok i will just enjoy watching and learning thank you so much for sharing it
Hi, Thank you so much! Of course! I create these videos so everyone can learn and paint these themselves. Feel free to paint it, post it or share it, which I would appreciate :) thank you for asking! xx
It is really nice to read your comment, thank you. I enjoy reading when I can inspire someone to paint and when someone can learn from me, so thank you very much 😊
Hi, I don't believe watercolors are good for canvas, you will definitely not have the same effects, watercolors are meant for a paper :) so paper can absorb the colors correctly, I've heard from some artists here in comments that they mix acrylics with watercolors on canvas :)
