Maryanne Holmes resides on the Gold Coast and has been painting watercolours since 1995. She attended classes at the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE, and continued tuition with local artists.
Maryanne Holmes has also attended workshops at Bathurst and Toowoomba Universities with acclaimed Australian watercolourists , and now teaches watercolour classes locally.
Maryanne Holmes currently exhibits at Ecliptic Gallery, High Street, Armadale, Melbourne; Argyle Gallery, The Rocks, Sydney; Solo and joint exhibitions on the Gold Coast and in Melbourne were outstanding successes. Maryanne has won the prestigious Trinity Art Show Award on the Gold Coast. Other awards include the annual Watercolour Society of Queensland and finalist twice in Australian artist’s competition along with people’s choice award at Watercolour Society Brisbane
She has a feature on cover of Australian Medical Journal, Ostomy Volume 17 March 2008. Worldwide distribution.
Workshops have been conducted locally on the Gold Coast and Watercolour Society Brisbane as well as Broken Hill NSW. Overseas she has conducted workshops in France 2009 for Ecliptic Gallery and also three workshops in Noumea.
Maryanne Holmes is a member of the Society of Fine Artists, Gold Coast; Arts Society of Queensland; Watercolour Society of Queensland; Malvern Artists Society and Australian Guild of Realist Artists both of Melbourne.

The Colour in your life fine art TV series is an art show that takes you into the everyday studios of artists from around the world. While in the studio they share their individual art techniques and art tips with the viewer in a relaxed atmosphere with a delightfully Australian host and fellow artist Graeme Stevenson. The artist shares with the viewer their stories of life, painting, drawing, sculpting, art workshops and any art lessons they may provide. I totally understand her reason for getting into watercolour painting, because my story is similar. Although, I haven't yet had the benefit of attending any classes or workshops from experts. My teachers are the wonderful artists who I have discovered on RU-vid channels, especially this channel "Put some colour in your life". Great work Graeme, I really appreciate the record you are creating of modern watercolour painting artists by doing all these featured interviews with demos.

Maryanne, I enjoyed seeing you paint and love your gorgeous paintings! After I have finished quilts for all of my grandchildren, I plan to get back to my watercoloring. Over the last couple of years the grandkids have started their painting journeys. All are good artists and they love being watercolorists! Thanks so much for the video and informative tips! You are truly an inspiration! Thanks to Graeme, too, for the wonderful series!

I learned a lot from this episode actually, must have replayed several sections a dozen times while working on a similar painting and it really improved the depth of my cityscape. That being said, i think landscapes and city scenes are great (i primarily focus on them myself in my work) but id like to see some abstract demonstrations and hear the artists take on their abstract work (the thought process between blank canvas and a finished product and hear about the deeper ideas behind their work). Cant wait to see whats coming next, keep up the amazing work guys!

Hi Maryanne. Watching you execute a painting in watercolor seemed so easy. Your hand was dancing all over it~~ Good lesson for a beginner in watercolour, like myself. I use gouache, mainly oils, graphite.... Thank you for the sincere encouragements :) xo.
