I learned a tip about drawing out your flowers or objects before painting. Instead of using pencil and having it show or dealing with erasing, you could use a watercolor pencil very lightly that will blend with your painting when wet. 🙃
Oh, I was going to ask about using a pencil. When the artist described erasing the pencil marks, does she mean after the paint has dried? I just rec'd a set of watercolor markers & watercolor pad as a gift and this is my first tutorial into how to use this medium. It's beautiful. Thank you for you advice and thank you TanyaLeintz for this engaging and informative tutorial. You're very talented.🌺🎨🌻💧🌸🖼🖌
@@isabellind1292 yes, they mean after the paint has dried. But if you paint over your pencil , it won’t erase nicely. If you have watercolor pencils, use those instead. Then you won’t have to erase at all. It will blend in with your watercolor. I hope this helps. 😊
2 months post your post. Hope that you are doing well and stuff is coming back. I did not have a stroke but a rather big brain 'shake up" where I lost a lot of my stuff. It's all there I just had to relax & not overthink sh*t. You got this. (Painting/drawing had to come from my shoulder/elbow using a brush for quite a while. Not too large. But you've probably zoomed past that already.)
Ooooooh those look so great! Thank you for posting. I’ve had these kind of brushes for ages and hadn’t really worked out how to use them. Loving this! And you make it look easy too
I have both the markers and the pencils and now with your guidance I am so much more confidant of how to use them....thank you so much! I am so excited to create my first little watercolor flowers!
I’m so glad I found your channel! I just bought there 96 pack of brush markers so I could learn how to do watercolors. You make it look so easy! I can’t wait to try these flowers🥰 You are a wonderful teacher.
Same, I just received the Ohuhu package of watercolor pens and I've only ever used Prismacolor and Faber Castell pencil crayons lol. I've been gifted 5 different types of watercolor pencil crayons but I don't think I've ever used them the way another of your v8ds explained them to me. I still suck lol but getting more confident with the pencils at least, if I remember ill let you know how I do with the brush pens 🥰🥰🥰
@@TanyaLeintz well as gugung hoe I was to use them life got in the way lol. I have finally had a chance to use them o a variety of canvases, papers, and some woods as well as windows lol. I personally majorly sucked with them. But my Arts & Crafts buddy was amazing. Personally I think I will only use them for that tie dye type backgrounds lol. Oh and I passed the video to the A&C group, as I literally spent 4 solid days looking for a coherent instructional video and you definitely are the best. Thank you Soo much for taking the time to actually teach with care.👼👼👼👼
OK. I’m only 7 minutes into your video and I’m already getting the tickly feeling inside like “ I can do this!” Your pansy is getting me excited because I am a florist but I also come from a very artistic family
@@TanyaLeintz I wanted to do that since I was seven years old when I was with my aunt and she was ordering her wedding flowers. The September after I graduated from high school I went to the American floor arts school in Chicago.
Thanks, after 12 hours of going through vids for this exact topic your not only the most coherent for beginners, but the most honest about how things don't always work the way you expect and to experiment with what you're using
11:58 Happened across your channel at exactly the right time for me. Hand and wrist problems slow me down and I gave up on coloring with pencils, which I loved. Now I have more ideas to use with my markers and I will be turning my paper more. At almost 76 years old, I can use all of the tips and techniques that I can get. You are encouraging. Thank you.
@@brendadudley6474 you are very welcome! I have been having arms problems lately as well. This is such a “gentle on your arm” medium to work with. Happy Painting!😊
This is a very helpful video. The vast majority of videos on brush markers only color-swatch and do "calligraphy", which isnt helpful, so thank you for actually teaching me how to use them. I would really like to see you show us more artwork using brush markers.
Looks great. You can also rub the marker on a slick surface like a plastic bag and pull the color off and use it like watercolor. Thanks for sharing. You got my morning going.
Wow just found yoir page I have Autism and was gng to give up on my watercolor markers its so confusing to me but the flowers are so cool and the way you show it gave me confidence! I look forward to more learning with these markers for a newbie like me!! Thank yoi!!!! 💙
Jessie, I’m so glad you found my channel. My nephew is on the spectrum as well, and LOVES to draw. Never give up. It’s more about enjoying the process then the outcome. Just paint for love of painting. Happy holidays!
So happy to find this tutorial!!! Thank you! I have this set and I have found ice blue is a wonderful color for glass, as in replicating a glass vase. Artesia also sells four packs of one color if you go through specific colors a lot. I bought the 96 set and I absolutely love mine. Fyi.... If you take the paint marker back over a wet surface the paint marker actually absorbs the water and the color leaves the brush nib. Then you have to wait for the color to return. You can blend colors but it's very difficult to add color to a surface that is too wet.
Good info, simply explained and demo'd, I like the one flower didn't turn out so you can show that. Only thing would suggest is to encourage making swatches of the colors. Love this and am going to play!!
My very first time stopping by and I found you most delightful. Your talking about your granny and papa took me back to my grannys kitchen, so THANK YOU!
Such an intriguing painting approach, especially tailored to discovering the magic that happens when the color mingle together. Thank you for generously sharing your creative process and providing a valuable learning opportunity for many artists. Wishing you a truly wonderful day ahead.
Bristol paper is perfect for brush markers! You can really work the color out very easily with water and a brush. In other words, you won’t get the ‘outlined’ effect of the Bristol paper!
I have just started working with watercolor brushes and love them and loved watching it. It gave me some new ideas. I also love working with watercolor pencils.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I got watercolor markers as a gift over a year ago, and I've just been using them as lining markers. This has really broadened what i can do. Watercolor isn't something i normally do, and this seems like a happy medium between sketching and painting.
Excuse the errors 8ts 5.15am I'm kk from nz you can't keep everyone happy out there some seem more experienced than others who just want to learn from your tutorials well it's the one on watercolor, best tutor, best colors awesome I will let friends an family know you see you next tutorial have a 😊 day from kk nz
Thank you for this! I’ve been trying regular watercolor painting and not getting far. I love this idea for more control and detail. Definitely getting me a simple starter set!!
Love yr channel! You make it all look so doable. I had 6 Watercolour Felt Tip Pens in my drawer, so not quite the same but I'll practice some of yr techniques. Thanks alot.
I bought the brush pens on special but didn't know how to use them. Thanks for showing me. Though the video was too slow. Would've been better if shown first 2 petals then fast forward. Though hints were extremely helpful.
Oh my gosh you make it look so easy , I was afraid to try to add color to my artwork but now I can't wait till I've got enough money to buy the supplies I need to start , thank you and God bless you
I just found your channel 2 years later but great techniques! I love my brush markers and I keep learning more ways to use them! Beautiful! I love to use these I have different brands and although they are different from each other, I love them all all.
I have only just caught up with you and got my brush pens today. So I'm looking at videos for ideas etc. Had to have a laugh when you said pansies aren't your favorite flowers, me too, but when I asked my sister what's her favorite she said "pansies!" Now I know how to paint them! Thank you!
That’s hilarious! Now you can paint them for her!! Check out my newer videos for watercolor brush pen landscapes if you’d like. Thank for watching!!! Stay safe!
I’ve been “doodling” more - creating my own flowers and love this tutorial! Many great techniques- florals and leaves are so forgiving because no two are alike. I also love blue flowers, we need more of those - so lovely
I have been having difficulty with learning watercolor but received a set of these for my birthday! so glad for your video..it was a pleasure starting here. I'm on my way. I'll be back!
Hello! I watched this video three times! I found these flowers so beautiful. I am new to water coloring but I’m going to give these a try. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I like to use a frixion erasable pen it erases even after the water color has dried…you are so great at freehanding,,,thank you so much.🦋your center on your last tiny flower looks raised..gorgeous…🦋
It always amazing to me how much better things look when they dry! My favorite watercolor markers are the Zig Clean color and I think Chromatic but I also have some Artezas and I find that I revisit the different types and enjoy them all - yes, I’m a bit of a collector… I also like using them for calligraphy
I use tombow. i am new to this world but am enjoying them. thank you for the ideas and yechniques. really appreciate your simple way if teaching. nice for a beginner
Thank you so much for sharing your talents! It’s makes me feel like I might actually be able to do this! Could you possibly show poppies and daisies sometime?
Hi Sarah! Thank you for watching! I think I have a daisy tutorial from about a year ago. If you go to my channel, you will see it. But I may do another daisy video in the near future.
Thank you for sharing how to use brush markers. Your method works really well with Strathmore Vision watercolor paper and Poetique brush markers. I need to try the same technique with my Fabriano cotton watercolor paper and Kuretake Zig Real Brush markers.
I haven't used my watercolor markers in a year or so. I may have to get them out and start practicing more. Honestly, I wasn't using them as watercolor markers at first. Thanks for sharing.
