Shelley i.know you get a little upset because you have a little trouble with your equipment but I want you to know those of US who care for you are very patient and don't mind waiting ,so don't be nervous and get yourself all worked up ,just breathe and don't worry about us ,I'm not going anywhere because you're the best teacher on RU-vid I have learned more from you than anyone else ,you don't just sit there and paint and listen to music you explain everything your doing in detail ,you tell what paper you're using how-to stretch it what color your why you doing something , well frankly Shelley please never leave RU-vid because I can't watercolor without you ,heavens no !!!!

I know this is from the past but I love this. Especially how you build up the seed heads. Especially the final additions of dark and light. Background is cool too. Thanks.

This is just beautiful! I’ve been painting almost 5 yrs and I still try to copy the photo exactly. How can I stop that? 🥴
@shelleypriorfineart
@shelleypriorfineart Год назад
Thanks Sue. Yes copying the photo is difficult to break. You must make a conscious effort. There are several things to try. Create a thumbnail or small value study and work from that rather than the photo. You can also give yourself a time limit or limit the number of brush strokes you make. This trains you to record only the most important information because you need to work economically. Work in a sketchbook often as it is not as precious as a painting that you intend to frame. This allows you to be more experimental.

thank you for your videos. there is one danger to using salt, that i know of 1st hand. i sold a painting to an individual who lives in a tropical climate, and the painting (tho' the salt was removed from the surface of the paper) caused condensation under the glass (of the framed picture). so there is a danger of that condensation ruining the artwork.
@shelleypriorfineart
@shelleypriorfineart 2 месяца назад
Never heard that. Not sure why it would do that but good to know.

Thanks for your demos and help...BUT honey, do you really think some people😇 want to watch you stare at whatever you are doing...??? Edit out the looong silence in the beginning when you up load the recording from your live stuff.... we wanna SEE the painting !!!!! Or at least I do.. so i just fast forward
@Kyomiibrown

You can change how many seconds it fast forwards in settings. That way it’s not modified for one person and the rest of us can catch up in the silent parts.

I'm still learning this RU-vid LIVE thing. Only way to learn is jump in. Thanks for your patience. If it looks like I'm staring, it's because I'm seeing a delay and not totally sure that I'm live yet. Fast forward is always a good option as I navigate the editor. I'm working on it and improving a little each time.
