Brilliant. You are so good at articulating what you are doing. It takes both sides of the brain to do that. Many people don't have the knack of talking and painting. You simplify everything.
It is two o'clock in the morning, we are all in self-isolation, sod it I'm going to get the paints out right now! Excellent lesson Bob, thank you very much for passing on your talents.
Hi Bob, through this video ive downloaded your ebook. Love your teaching style and just watching these videos and trying your tips out has helped and motivated me as i have been feeling a bit frustrated lately (love watercolours, practising a lot but still so much out at sea!). Thanks so much for your energy and time...
Thanks! ! The best Videos so far. Im so happy to found them. Im very inspired and will know practice. Thank you very much to leave your video's up so I could found them and reply in 2021. All the best from Portugal .
I don´t quite agree with the notion of no feet and no facial features: their lack increases the sense of crowd and anonymity. Besides, the long watery greyish shadows highlight a sense of people lost in a space with no landmark or references; a sort of floating world with no horizons; which is unsettling to the human brain. So, simplifying people to such a degree is...well, you know that whenever people are ''simplified'': they can just become numbers. Or, to our brain, walking ghosts without eyes, colored shadows. Lacking feet is perhaps the first feature someone notices when they affirm having seen a ghost or spirit.
While I like the lesson in watercoloring, I have some issues with your video and commentary. Why are all the women wearing dresses? Why is the woman going shopping but not the men? Why is the woman taking care of the child but the man isn't interested? And why would the woman be happy that the man is going to remodel the kitchen? All in all, it's quite sexist. I do the house remodeling (as well as built our custom home), my husband does the dishes and laundry. I rarely wear dresses. And I don't have kids. I also have 3 college degrees in math and computer science. I get the feeling this would shock you.
