Watercolour Special Effects Techniques Tutorial. I hope you enjoy this fun painting experimenting with different watercolour techniques to paint pebbles. Colours (alternatives):
Quinacridone Gold (Raw Sienna)
Black (Paynes Grey)
Ultramarine (Cobalt Blue)
Quinacridone Magenta (Permanent Rose)
Rose Of Ultramarine (Permanent Magenta)
Phthalo Turquoise (Prussian Blue)
Burnt Sienna (Light Red)
300gsm Watercolour Paper Cold Pressed Block 14 x 10 inches (see Art Supplies link below)
BRUSHES:
Round Size 2, 4, 6, 10 & 14 Black Velvet Brushes
Kitchen Towel.
Waterpot.
White Gouache.
Granulation Medium.
Watercolour Pencils.
Sandpaper.
Brusho (Black & Grey).
Rubbing Alcohol.
Spritzer Bottle.
Wax Crayon.
Sponge.

As soon as I saw this colorful painting I couldn't wait to try to try it. Mine turned out differently of course but so happy with the results. I used a little Brusho., Only a very little lol.

This is so different and interesting! I can think of lots of way to use these tips and techniques. One thing I would love to learn to draw and paint is a rose, if you ever feel like doing it. Thank you so much for what you do!

Love this . . . .your demonstration AND the finished product . . . this will be my "fun project" for today . . . . Beautiful Karen....so relaxing watching your brush gently brush the surface of the paper....the water kind of roll on the surface and then the colors softly appears. Wonderful💞👏. Karen just a thought. Drop thick paint many colours - let get damp - scrape off with card. Marbled look.

Hi Karen, what a fantastic tutorial! Question, I'm going to order some brusho from Amazon. Which do you use, colorcraft Brusho or pan pastel brusho? Some also say Crystal color on the container. I guess crystal is always good, no matter the color. Thank you for your amazing tutorials and techniques!

Hello!! I'm just two minutes and a half in and already shocked! BTW, does any white crayon work for 'wax crayon'? What do you recommend? (I don't think I can buy Crayola individually)

Salt gives a lovely effect, slightly different to granulation 😀

Where do I get rubbing alcohol? Never heard of it in the U.K.?

Hi Pierre, most pharmacies supply rubbing alcohol. Main ingredient in hand sanitiser. Hope this was helpful :)

@@KarenRiceArt thanks Karen - they didn't have rubbing alcohol at Boots but a quick Google search shows the same thing is surgical spirit - which I got at Superdrug at £1.79.
