Waterford, a seaport in southeast Ireland, is the country’s oldest city. It was founded by Vikings in 914 A.D. and parts of its ancient walled core remain. Within Reginald’s Tower, a circa-1003 fortification, the Waterford Museum of Treasures displays local archaeological finds. Famed glass manufacturer Waterford Crystal began here in 1783. Today the company’s facility near the historic district offers factory tours.

Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of going to Wsterford for a few nights but it looks so boring, full of the same shops over here. Thought it would be quite old but its very mod ern. Something I noticed was an almost complete lack of pubs! Not a patch on Galway. Thanks you have saved me a few hundred quid.

There is tonnes to see in both Waterford city and county. It's a great place. This video didn't go near the pub part of town.

@@philipedwards9038 I'm from Kilkenny and in terms of pubs, sure, Waterford isn't as good but still a cracking place to visit. If you're looking for a pure piss up, definitely better places to visit but overall, Waterford is very underrated.

Not a single Val Doonican statue anywhere! Seriously, it looks a nice clean city, but I would never have guessed it wasn't in the UK. It appears so different to places like Gallway. I'd be really interested to see how the countryside compares. It looks like those winter coats still come in handy all year round!
