Welcome to Lone Duck Outfitters and Kennels! If you have a waterfowl dog, this training is a an absolute must! Today we are working on kenneling to a momarsh stand. This elevated "place" is a great way to generalize place training and most waterfowl dogs will be working from these, so it's handy to learn early. Remember, if you want your dog to be comfortable and confident in the field, then first work at it in the backyard so they don't have any new experiences or surprises when it's game time.

Great video thanks for the tips and information. That’s the one down side of that momarsh is they’re so unsteady on the ground like that. I’ve had it tip over with my dog inside luckily she wasn’t phased by it. It still makes me nervous when we train with it though.

Its time to get my order in for my dogs Momarsh so I have time to do this before dove season. He went thru a trainer for four months over the winter, and we are trying to keep him moving in the right direction while fighting off the texas heat. Tough balancing act. Gonna introduce some quail in the next month or so ( Im raising bobwhites for training and got my Texas Bird Breeders license to be legal) Hoping to introduce a Johhnyhouse this fall. Ever heard of them or used them? Would love to see a video on them if so.....or maybe you know somebody like Ethan and yall can do another Colab vid on Johnyhouses. IM REALLY starting to get excited for my labs first/upcoming fall bird hunting season!!! We are in countdown mode for the dove opener!!

Why do they make the dog blinds so small ? My dog is 28" at the withers , head while sitting is 30-32" off the ground. I tried one and it would stsy on hos back as he rsn after the birds. They also turn a mark into a blind retrieve which most dogs hate.

Been doing this now that I have the momarsh for the backyard and he is getting the hang of it! . Keeping sessions short and fun. When do you transition off the leash, and do you start to use e-collar, or just keep it fun? I would imagine the e collar could be a bad thing because if he gets a nick while about to jump up, I would assume that would be the wrong timing.

My dog gets in no problem he likes it. But now he has started breaking when birds are shot or are coming into the decoys. Any suggestions? He is stable any other time never breaks at hunt test or in training.
