Watergate Salad -- Fast and Easy -- Yummy !!!
Watergate Salad
Ingredients
• 3.4 ounce package instant pistachio pudding mix
• 20 ounce can crushed pineapple not drained
• 2 cups mini marshmallows
• 1/2 cup pecans chopped
• 8 ounce container Cool Whip thawed
Instructions
• Start by mixing together the dry pudding mix, crushed pineapple, mini marshmallows, and chopped pecans.
• Next, fold in the thawed Cool Whip until well combined.
• Chill the watergate salad until you're ready to serve.

The first time I had this was in the mid 1970’s when my husband was in the Marine Corps and we lived in North Carolina , I didn’t have it again until a few years ago and now I make it occasionally. It’s so good. 💕

We've been having a bad snow storm all day and just got our power back after 12 hours. Haven't had Watergate Salad in many, many years. When I lived with my aunt, she would make this and since it was called salad, we got to eat it with our meal instead of waiting for dessert! Hi Calvin and Marie, I'm not sure when I first ate Watergate Salad but I have always loved it. I have since started making it using Sugar Free Pistachio Jello and Sugar free or Lite Cool Whip. I roast my Pecans a little bit before putting them in the salad. It gives the pecans a great flavor. Just thought I would share in case anyone wanted a low calorie or low sugar version...but both versions are delicious! Thanks for sharing and God Bless!!

1n 1970s my mom made this 1 Sunday each month to have with Sunday's dinner. I'm a only child and my dad & I loved it. Would believe we could eat it all. 😋🤣😋

Hi Marie! Yummmmm! I believe the first time I had watergate salad was when my Mama made it. She always made it for Christmas. She passed away in 2018 so now I make it as one of our desserts for Christmas. I don't add the nuts. I've never added a cherry on the top but I think I will now. I have all the ingredients on hand. I think I will make that for our dessert one day this week. Have a great day!

Just made it for our Sunday dessert! I had pistachios on hand and crushed them and used them instead of the pecans. First time for this Canadian gal! Licked the spoon and spatula....it was so yummy and such a quick easy recipe! Best thing about it? After a big meal no one usually wants dessert...but I don't think anyone will pass this light creamy dessert! Thank you again for sharing it!! ❤ 💐

I don't know when I first had it but I remember it's good!! So easy too! I may try a sugar-free or lower sugar version by using sugar-free pudding. Always enjoy your videos!!
