Memeologist Dude he literally posted a video saying to all his fans on all his social medias including RU-vid that he was doing that and that he realised some people enjoyed those songs and would still enjoy them so he told people where to access them if they still wanted to listen..
Hey, this was back before Watsky began Brian Wilsoning, lol. If you listen to interviews with him, dude sounds so much like Brian Wilson during his slump, I feel bad. One of my favourite Watsky albums is Grain 1,989^33 and I think the difference between that album and Placement is that Grain 1,989^33 was off-the-cuff, it was just he and his girlfriend fucking around with synthesizers, riffing on Ayn Rand and having fun. Placement was delayed a year, reworked, re-chopped and in interviews, he says it's 1/3 of some grand artistic mosaic. That's all well and good, but if it's not a good album, it doesn't matter what the intention was.
