Watts Chapel and Watts Gallery Gardens in Surrey on a beautiful May day

We visit the stunning Watts Cemetery, or Mortuary Chapel, a chapel in a Modern Style version of Celtic Revival situated in the village of Compton, Surrey.
The designer was Mary Fraser-Tytler, an artist resident in the village, who married the painter and sculptor George Frederic Watts. Then we went on to the gallery and looked around the gardens there. I hope you will enjoy joining us on this beautiful sunny day when everywhere looked so pretty.

What a beautifully dignified video you made, Lynn, entirely in keeping with the subject matter. Early May when the sun is shining is really one of the best times to visit. All the colours, inside and out, are so vibrant and fresh. What a remarkable place all in all. Thanks so much for reminding me of this little gem.

Was at the chapel very recently myself. The details of all the decoration is just stunning - so much to see and take in. A very special place you captured so well in your video.

Wow, what an amazing place! The music you chose to go with your video, was just right I felt. It must have felt so special to be able to go inside, and look at the stunning art work, and the wood carved doors are just jaw dropping - my kind of place. I paint pottery (have not done any for a couple of years, as I have lost my mo jo at the moment) and so love the design and colours in there. Thank you for showing this special place to us.
