Proper fisherman's etiquette is fantastic to see. I hate when people hole hop me. Sometimes I'll even ask the other fisherman if he'd like to just fish together. Makes for an interesting time
@@tightlinesguidingservices you started about the same time I started trout fishing. I almost gave it up at first. It's super hard to approach it as a beginner without any guidance. You ever trout fish in the Portage, shawano, marathon county area? Thats where I usually go
@@PackerManForLife i agree it probably took me 8 or so outings before i caught my first trout. fished the dells of the eau claire once but caught more bass and pike than trout. been eyeing up a few places in Shawano County lately - likely to try them this summer
@PackerManForLife I'm new to trout fishing and just started fishing in portage county. Totally in love because I found a spot where I was getting about 20 brooks in a couple hours
@@aswfishing4319 I know a handful of good spots in Portage County. I started trout fishing two years ago and extremely struggled at first. I had my first good day on the Plover river on like my 5th outing. Since then, I've totally fell in love with trout fishing. I've gone all over the state. From May to October I go at least 3 times a month. After awhile I started getting really familiar with what makes good trout water and habitat. Last season, on opening day I caught 60 brookies in a 6 hour outing (all released, I'm big on conservation). I find it more engaging than just fishing on a boat on a lake. The things I've seen and experienced while out on the streams, makes it a totally different experience. Man, I cant wait until Spring.
Those were some colorful little browns. I haven't fished that spot for 20 or so years. How does one even get down there these days? Do you park in the rest area and climb the fence?
there is a dead end road north of the stream along the interstate 👍🏼 always love hearing stories of places i fish from long before i walked them. let me know if you have any fun ones
@@tightlinesguidingservices I fished downstream almost 35 years ago (I'm 47) with my dad and my uncle. My dad and I were in the old parking lot and were completely dry. My uncle came walking back through the pouring rain. Always remember that because my uncle ended up committing suicide within the next year. Sad story but I always had good memories of fishing that day. I fish sand country and the driftless area mostly. Hope to see you sometime. Catch 'em out.
@@tightlinesguidingservices strange. It's actually better 4K in 16:9 , and thats not that it's higher quality but that's how youtube formats it's videos.
